For the service when the employees check out customers . My husband went to take our 3 little (8,3,2 years old that are wild and crazy) kids there and the employee she helped rang up the things that was bought wasn't or even told him there was a bag fee. I called the store to complain what happened and the employee said " there are signs every where man, but You are holding up the line by being on the phone with you" WOW!!!! I just hung up. It's been so long since my last shopping here in five below, I was expecting it to be down because it's been a while and I don't have any news about it for how many years. But when I came back shopping in this store, I was a bit shocked that I saw it standing firmly and still working for many years. And I must say that this place is so much better than your regular $1 store. I can't believe I haven't arrived as soon as possible! The store is spotless and well-organized. I went here after my work that day and I saw some employees still clearing things out. The store has a distinct rubbery odor from all the lesser plastic products, but if you can get past that, you'll find a lot of interesting things. They have a lot of products you can choose and buy at a  price that is definitely reasonable. I bought  beverages, lunch boxes for my husband, gym gear for my husband again, electrical devices and ton of sweets for my children( I hope they will like it). And by the way the staff are nice too, they were friendly to me. read more

The checkout is insulting. The store is self-checkout. I feel bad for individuals that can't do self-checkout, such as people with physical mobility or cognitive needs. Bad experience my first order was over 204$ I'm missing 6 items from my cart they refuse to swap out or to send a refund for the items they messed up very disappointed and lost out on 6 presents for my kids for christmas, do not order from there they mess ur order up don't want to refund you but then tell u that u can reorder everything. It's hit or miss in this Five Below. Majority of the time the staff is nice. But the manager this morning was just rude. I was there at 10:05AM opening time. Seems like they were a little late opening which is fine. One of the staff just told me that it will take them a minute to open the doors. I waited and then comes the manager opened the door and she doesn't look happy opening the business or even to be there.. She tried to move this big sign outside alone that looks heavy so, I held the door open for her so she can move it out and she was propping the door open with her back. No acknowledgement, no thank you, she just looked straight and did not even look at me and she just looked pissed or annoyed. When I went in, I asked one of the staff if that was her manager and she said yes. I said she was rude, I tried to help her and no acknowledgement or anything. So I just walked out instead of spending my money there. If you're a manager, and you look like you don't want to be there at the store, how are the rest of the staff going to follow through? Aren't managers supposed to set a good example to their team? Or maybe Five Below doesn't offer training for their managers. I guess, I'll just spend my money at Target or somewhere else. read more

Like most hot-bIooded Americans eager to spend their next dollar, I thought I loved all things Fall seasonal until I entered this Five Below. I'm used to my regular store, in Woodridge, which is like a Disney miracle on ice, but without the ice and far cheaper than actual ticket to any 'Disney on Ice' show. This store was like a gutted Bizarro-world version of that where the aisles all went the wrong way and all the good stuff that applied ot my active lifestyle as a purchaser of semi-useful things and junk-horder of everyday items went out the window. I came at the end of September/beginning of October and all the good ish was gone and all the seasonal Halloween junk had been piled in, sparingly. The selection was meager and meek compared to what my 'fancy' western-burbs tastes had become accustomed to at the Five Below strip mall in Woodridge. Sadly, I had chosen my first visit to the Schaumburg location as a good jumping point for my (also hoarder) mother and grandmother to delve in the wonder of 5 below, but with the limited stock and seriously crappy selection of Halloween garb + garbage, they left pretty unimpressed and yearning for a real dollar store... and this time, I can't really blame them. I purchased NOTHING. My Grandma purchased NOTHING. My Mom purchased a pair of socks, that unraveled, I kid you not, before she even got a chance to put them on her feet about 300 feet out of the store when she took the tag off. Poopy. I got a sunset lamp i was ecstatic then later in the car on my way home to a little town I opened the boxxxxxx to relize there WAS NO STAND to my lamp like how rude and crude this organization is they must have come from barbarians. Then ten seconds later I called on my iPhone 12 I got last year asking what I should do with my lamp that has NO STAND . The lady answered phone and said I have to come back to the store if I want it fix but I love miles on miles away and this was my only chance to go there I won't be back you hear me . But also there was no plastic bags like so I dragged my lamp like hoodlum. This is why I like dollar tree better. read more

This was my first ever Five Below experience. I'm glad that Hubs and I came in on a weekday afternoon; everything was well organized, clean and prices were clearly marked. You really can't compare Five Below to the Dollar Tree because they (Five Below) have a lot more name brand/higher quality items. You get what you pay for at the Dollar Tree, but you might find something totally unexpected at Five Below. Great prices on t-shirts, small electronics, craft kits and games. This would be an excellent place to go without breaking the bank if you have a million + 1 birthday parties to attend or small gifts to purchase. Will be back! read more

I bought 3 pairs of sunglasses from five below. They all fit pretty well, and are highly fashionable!

My dog and I were greeted by multiple friendly employees at the front of the store. I went to the pet area because thats what I was there for, found what I needed and started to walk back to the front. My 12lb leashed dog stopped to scratch herself as we were about to go down a new isle when another worker walked by and told me to make sure I'm holding on to my dog in a rude and unnecessary tone. I put all my items down and immediately left the store because the way she spoke and looked at us made me feel immediately unwelcomed. We were basically the only ones in the store and she was well behaved and walking quietly with me. I wish my dog had needed to use the bathroom so I could have let her go right in front of this woman and walked away for her to clean. That would be a reason to tell me to watch my dog. read more

This is a very cool store! It's like a glorified dollar store with higher quality and much cooler items. I was excited when I heard this store opened because they honestly have really good deals on current popular items. They have a ton of Twilight related merchandise, Chicago sports teams (I wish they would have had some Packer stuff for my fam in WI), Disney items, super cute things, a bunch of cool candy, Wii games, DVDs that are actually good (like the Twilight series!!!), super cute animal hats & earmuffs, tons of different Justin Bieber merchandise, a bunch of Jersey Shore merchandise, huge selection of games and crafts, cute graphic tees for guys and girls for just $5 each and much more! I picked up a a couple Operation Toy Story games for just $5 each, these normally retail for $17! These will make great donations for Toys for Tots! Store review: I still have mixed feelings about five below. On the one hand the price point is quite attractive, on the other hand it is a bunch of stuff that you probably don't need. If you are looking for small gifts or maybe even a ipad case this is the place to visit. Lots of selection from kids toys to small electronic items. Great to browse around, although I usually leave empty handed. One of the best finds is old ipad cases are very cheap here. Selections vary by store so check it out. This place is ok for me. They have stuff for kids and household items. Also since school stared or is about to start they had a good amount school supplies. They have summer stuff still and water bottles and a few good movies. also they have a big selection of candy and they have some t shirts with logos on them. So, there weren't a whole lot of stores open before 11 AM on a Sunday morning in this strip mall so I decided to wander in and take a gander. There were more interesting things than I had expected. Some fun cups if you have parties...even test tube shots with animal print on them. They have a bunch of graphic t-shirts. Tons of candies and sodas/waters by the door. Some pet supplies, little travel size products, back to school supplies. I'm sure I could have found plenty of things to buy here, but I resisted the temptation and just got a friend a little gift. Like it a lot! Great selection but avoid this location on the weekends. Too much congestion and crazy drivers making quick moves. Plus this outdoor mall setup has a somewhat tricky parking lot with more crummy drivers. A personal turn off to any trip with a two year old. read more

Wow, this place is a huge step up from your typical dollar store. I can't believe I haven't been here sooner! The store is very clean and organized. Was there late Saturday night and there were still employees walking around straightening things up. The place does have a very strong rubbery smell from all the cheaper plastic items but if you can get over that, you will be sure to find a bunch of quirky things. They have tons of candy, cold beverages, electronic gadgets (ear buds, stuff for your ipad, etc), duct tape in every color, lunch boxes, beach towels, Bears/Sox/Cubs/Hawks stuff, magnets, workout gear...the list goes on and on. I really loved that they had greeting cards and really nice gifts bags for a buck (I didn't notice the prices for the cards). Just like Candice, I cannot believe I didn't know this place existed!! I bookmarked it a few weeks back, and finally got the chance to venture in here on Saturday. It was pretty busy, but not so busy that you can't get around. And just like the name suggests, everything is $5 or less!! It's crazy!! They have shirts, other clothes, packs of socks, dishes, tupperware, workout equipment, things for your ipod/ipad/droid, etc. TONS of stuff in fact. Books, movies, food, games...you name it, you can probably find it here--for $5 or less!! I can't wait to come back and see what other treasures I can find!! read more

First experience at a 5 below. This store is obviously geared toward children (or parents shopping for kids). About 70% of the store was stuff for kids, games, various summer toys, etc for kids. I was expecting a rundown cheap store but I was shocked it was very well ran and extremely clean. Everything there was five and below like it promised. There was a variety of random items to buy like candy , posters , phone cases , magnets , cheap little toys and a bunch of other things. The staff was very friendly towards costumes.
