Recently purchased a Breitling B1, and unfortunately, upon arrival, the battery had died, and the bezel was not working properly. I've taken watches to fast fix repair shops before and unfortunately, those individuals don't necessarily handle your watches with care in this case they got the watch up and running they were able to switch out the battery appropriately. Will for sure be back in the future!

I have a refurbished antique school clock that I love. The last guy who worked on it did a haphazard job. It never worked correctly and the motor in the back was loosely mounted. I drive past this business on Rand Rd. almost every day but never knew they did repairs. When I saw one of their ads advertising this service, I brought the clock right in. The gentleman at the desk examined the clock and said with a new movement it would be like new again. I asked if the new motor would be attached more securely and he said, "We don't do work like this here." After a week I received a call and the clock has never run better and the motor is on tight. These guys know what they are doing and I recommend them highly. You'll also have fun looking at all the different clocks in their showroom!

I have a vintage electric clock that was over 70 years old and decided it had had enough and just stopped working. Since the small motors are no longer produced, my only option was to convert it to battery. Two clock shops said it could not be repaired. I took it in to Chicago Clock Co in Palatine and Skyler took a look at it and told me he could turn it into a battery clock. It only took him 6 days and the results were fantastic. We couldn't be happier that he saved our little clock for us. Recommended 5 Star.

Quick, expert and reasonably priced conversion of an old clock to a battery powered movement. They do a great job, and know their stuff.

Ask the Community - Chicago Clock Company

His do I reach the owner to share and advise what transpired today when a simple battery change went very wrong?

Hi, I am very interested in hearing about what transpired last Saturday with your watch. I am available at our main office this week on Wednesday and Thursday from 10-6. I…

This dates to the late 1960's or early 1970's. We ran into Tick-Tock at the Oregon (city) Market, which is held at the High School. I ran home, packed up my clock and brought it to them. Then came the call - it would be until July before he could get to it, but knew what was wrong - the bearings were all worn out. The guy who does the work was trained by the experts years ago to work on clocks like this, so we waited the 4 months for the call. We finally got it, and picked up the clock. Some tips: If you are going to ship your clock, use plastic bags from grocery stores to immobilize the mechanism / chains. This doesn't leave any residue behind (like the foam I used, which had to be cleaned off). Bring everything - the owner ran our clock for 2 weeks after he repaired it to make sure it would work when we got it home. The clock was packed well, the weights were double-wrapped in foam and bubble wrap, and the pendulum was encased in cardboard to prevent it from being damaged. The owner even included a small level (which I used and my clock was level). It's been running perfectly for 6 hours so I'm sure he's got it fixed and fixed correctly. It's also quieter than it was before, which I guess is because the bearings are all new and lubed properly. The repair person provided a card with a 2 year lubrication frequency as well. The price was exactly what was agreed to. No complaints, and I'm glad to have my grandmother's clock working again in my home. It sounds so nice. Now to address some comments: What clock repair place doesn't carry spare parts? A sane one. Do you understand how many different clocks there are in the world? Millions. Knowing where to find the parts is important, keeping parts on hand for even the most common clocks would take a huge warehouse and millions of dollars. I work on arcade games and pinball machines. I have 5 boxes of parts, so far I have been able to use 2 chips out of a $1000 inventory. Is that wise? Nope. Why does it take so long? Because this isn't McDonalds. It's a one or two person shop, and they work on stuff as it comes in. Ask up front, if you don't like the wait, go somewhere else.

Thank you Tick-Tock Clock. Your service and professionalism is appreciated. Quality!!read more

When we first started talking and attempt to set up an appointment for a time. I was told any time after 11am. So I showed up around 230ish and no one was home. So he tells me he on a service call and his wife will be back in 20 min. Or so. So after coming back I met his wife to do a drop off. She told me that her husband will contact me with in a week or maybe less. Well a week went by and no answer. So I called the guy wanting to see where he was at with the clock. He tells me he on a service call and he'll call me back in 2 hours. Two hours went by and no call back so I waited. Another week goes by without a peep from him (now 2 weeks in) so I call again to see were he at with the clock if he even look at it yet. he tells me that he busy on another service call and he'll have the estimate the next day around 6-7 pm I said okay and waited. And of course the next day came and no respond. Yet again another week goes by without a peep from him. So three week has gone by and I had gotten no answer from him if looked at the clock, on what's wrong with the clock, what it will take to fix the clock, how much it would cost, and how long it will take. Nothing at this point, I still haven't even met this guy yet either. I get it if he's busy but communicate that with the person. Maybe actually be there to meet the person at the beginning And don't tell people you're going to do something and not communicate. You made me feel like I just gave a con man my property. The only good thing was I was able to get my clock back without a problem.
