Bro I'm so sorry but I need to change my review. I've noticed a change in this particular tj maxx location. I'll break it down. Some of you may agree or disagree but again this is based on what I've seen and experienced ! 1. Taking advantage of non-English speakers Im not the only one who sees this in many employees. I've noticed these two employees are INCREDIBLY pushy on non-English speaking people/people who have a limited vocabulary. They will not stop pestering them until they give in. It irritates me in a way since I'm myself am Hispanic/Latino. 2. The line can take forever I found a super cute dress today I loved. All of the employees were signing up people for the credit card and I feel like there should be two or one registers or even a credit card sign up desk because you have alot of people in line waiting and these sign ups take so long. The people in front and behind me were very irritated cause 10 minutes have passed by and we haven't moved a bit.. I had to put the dress back cause I just didn't feel like the wait was worth it. 3. A change in staff attitude I noticed (not all) but many of the employees here are very rude and condescending. Such as attitude and rolling of the eyes at customers (they haven't done anything to provoked them like being mean first or messy) which throws me off That's all honestly I come to this place VERY often almost everyday lol so I can definitely see a change and the pace of the store is becoming slower and slower. read more

I went by the Manassas store today to return some items I had purchased the previous night on 4/22 and the cashier called for the store mgr named Elise R to approve the return as the jewelry was over $200. This jewelry was purchased last night from the TJ Maxx in Vienna / Falls Church where I had spent around $500. And after church, I went by today to return the jewelry because it was too long. The manager who by the name Elise R approaches the counter and looked me dead in the eye and said 'No, I can't return this jewelry because I have no way of verifying if it's real gold.' I was in utter shock and embarrassed by this statement because either she insinuated that I a Black woman may have changed the item and brought it back to the store to request a refund or TJ Maxx sold fake gold jewelry. Either way, she held the jewelry, inspected it, and after seeing the tag was very much intact proceeded to suggest I take it back to the store I had initially purchased it from. I was almost in tears at the disbelief. One, you are trying to inconvenience me to go back to Vienna when I had initiated a return from out of state before and your store accepted it. I was thinking of so many things and because I was raised right I didn't argue and left the store with my jaw in my hands. I immediately called the Vienna store to confirm their store policy which states I can return to any other TJ Maxx provided I have my receipt and I'm within 30 days of purchase. I am within 24 hours and still livid that this manager lacks good customer service skills and is allowed to run the store in the first place. Elise R if you ever see this, I will suggest getting retrained on simple etiquette and on customer service because you're lacking how to communicate effectively and your tone is condescending. read more

I recently visited the TJ Max store at 9900 Sowder Village Square, Manassas, Va and was hoping to find the perfect gift for a dear friend of mine. Esmeralda, who works at the Jewelry Department, was warm and friendly when I approached her at the jewelry counter. She was very patient and encouraging , as I tried on almost everything behind counter! Esmeralda kept that beautiful smile on her face, while helping me make the appropriate choice. I was sooo excited when I found out that this store was going to open not even 5 mins. from my house. I actuall woke up and went to the Grand Opening (I love to shop). Anyways I visit this particular location once every week, yes its that serious. One of the things that I like about this location is it's CLEAN. Now if you shop at TJ Maxx often you know that some of their locations are a bit junky. If you're looking for a good selection of purses, jewelry, and shoes, this is the spot!!! The staffis always friendly and they even let me bring my dog in (okay, I was doing too much). As far as clothing, the Women's section is great but the Junior section is a little sketchy. I also like the Home Goods part, I always find things there. If you're out waaaayyy in the Country, stop by and pay them a visit, the area is really up and coming. read more

My cousin swears by this tj maxx. She says it is her favorite thing maxx ever. She comes here once a week whether she needs something or not. I must say I really liked it. There was a very big selection. I went in just to shop with her had no intention of buying anything and came out with 4 things. The store is pretty well organized and clean. Went to this TJ Maxx yesterday and overall I feel like it was average. It's a pretty decent size store with different items for sale. They sell clothing, house decor, beauty items, etc. For the most part it looked organized however there were a few sections that could have used some tidying up. The store wasn't really busy and there's a ton of parking which is a plus. The customer service was just ok. The cashier could have been more friendly but it is what it is. It's not the best TJ Maxx that I've gone to but it's the only one in Manassas so it will do. read more

TJ Maxx is pretty far down on my preference list for the bargain/discount stores. It's not that they are particularly bad in any way, I just typically find very few items that are in my size, and none of them I want to buy. But I always give high marks for a clean and well-organized store, and the good TJ Maxx stores are both. Manassas is one of those good stores. And not only that, but they actually had TWO clothing items that fit me that I wanted to buy. I was stunned. Burlington Coat Factory always has a lot more options in my size, but there's little else in the store of interest but clothes, and the checkout can be a bit of a show. All of the TJX brand stores have the checkout process down. And I'm learning that TJ Maxx is a good place to get a 18 pack of K-cups for a decent price ($9). I usually rate TJ Maxx three stars, but I'm giving this one an extra star for having more stuff I wanted to buy! read more

I am not usually a fan of TJ Maxx in the DC area for clothes. Most often than not, they don't have stuff I am interested. When they do, it is usually XXXXXXXXL or XXXXXXXXS. But the new Manassas West location is awesome! They have a very good selection of clothes that I like and have my size. The home section is very nice too, though I still like TJ's Home Goods store concept better since it is all home stuff, but this TJ Maxx has a good variety. I found some nice pillows, picture frames and some kitchen stuff. I never spent this much money in a Maxx before. read more

I'm rating in the middle. Some things are awesome. Like finding departnent store fragrance for 19.99 But some things are still expensive. Like the purses i was looking at for a present for my neice. Sure, its a good markdown to see it go from 235.00 to 130.00 but still. Ouch. What i love here is the various whatnots in the home decor area. I always leave with something from that section that i LOVE to bits. Venture on in. It's good for at least spending some time browsing. read more

Love TJMaxx in Bristow! Their store is brightly lit, clean, and has great surprises at excellent discounts. I stopped in recently without planning to buy anything and bought three items! All of the clerks were friendly and pleasant. I had a question and received a polite and informative answer. During another visit this week, I found Joe to be especially helpful and kind. Love this store! And when I say that I mean this location, stopped by the fairfax one the other day & I won't make that mistake again. Messy, crowded, half empty shelves, nothing good. Parking also a pain. Anyway, back to the best tj maxx ever- great location, tons of parking, store is always well organized, well stocked & clean. Restrooms also always clean. I love to buy beauty stuff here, you can always find something neat-from hand soap to facial moisturizer. The food section is always fun too. I don't always have good luck finding normal clothes, but that's just my pickiness, they do have a great selection of workout clothes. Also love getting towels, sheets, & good smelling cleaning products. Each department also has it's own clearance area that's always worth checking out. In general a great place to spend an hour & either spend a little or a lot:) read more

We went and purchased 6 stools. the perm price on the bottom of the stool was 24.99. When we got home, the price they charged was 29.99. We went back to the store and inquired with the manager Oscar about the difference. He stated that that was a store problem and we had to pay the higher price. This problem has happened before with TJM. We returned the stools. Lesson learned. If you buy anything from TJM, check what you pay or have paid. Just think. if they charge each person something different, how much profit is being made on the backs of hard working people? read more

It's with great sadness I must write this two star review. Normally the staff here is great, selection is so-so. This TJ Maxx is right next to a Petsmart, and I prefer TJ Maxx for treats and dog beds. TJ Maxx does not have a pet policy, so many times I bring my dog in with me to select a pet bed, ect. Normally I'll find whoever is on duty and tell them I'm intending to go straight to the pet section with my leashed dog who is held very close to my body because she tends to jump at people so we can look at toys and treats. This is also great practice for her. This time, I talk to the cashier and wait to see whomever is on duty to be aware and say yay or nay on bringing her in. The manager's name here is Norma. I waited for her for a little while, and I was off to the side and offered to take my dogs outside while I was waiting for her to come talk to me. When Norma arrives she gets in my space (my dog maybe had a half of a foot of slack in her lead) which caused my dog to jump on her in excitement. At this point she proceeds to tell me that she had an incident last week where a dog jumped on a little girl and scared her. So I take my dogs back out to the car, whatever no big deal, it's Saturday so it's pretty busy, and I go back inside to do my shopping and talk to her a little bit about getting into people's space. I ask her if the pet policy has changed, to which she says VA law says that people with dogs can bring them inside if they're in a cart. That sounds fishy to me, but my dog is about 30 lbs, and would fit but wouldn't be comfortable. I tell her that as a personal suggestion, please don't get into people's space especially when they have a dog with them. Then she reveals that in fact, she is afraid of dogs. I'm empathetic to this, completely. Norma seems like a nice lady but the way she brushed me off and got into MY SPACE was not acceptable. 1.) Your personal fear of dogs DOES NOT JUSTIFY a new policy. I have called this store several times and asked if my dog was welcome and they were always okay with this. 2.) Next time ask someone to move if they are in your way, don't just try to squeeze past them. I know this is a little thing but it really put a bad taste in my mouth about the store and I might have to choose other stores to shop at. Thanks B read more

I used to shop here all the time. Though it was always a mess and the customer service was definitely not great by any means. I know there is policies to every store and what they are "allowed" to do, but having worked retail myself before, I know they can go above and beyond for their customers especially around the holidays. I bought a pair of shoes last week. We held Thanksgiving dinner at our house and then the next day we had our engagement party. So you can imagine the mess that was left to clean up after. I know at this point it is my fault I lost the receipt and probably would have taken the store credit.. But I'll just keep the shoes after this. Today I called to try to explain and received awful (to put it nicely) customer service. First employee to answer was very rude with me and when I asked to speak to a manager, she got all upset and said "well she's just going to say the same thing as me so good luck..." ..ok. Talk to the manager and she basically refused to listen to anything I had to say. Needless to say, I will never shop here again. Whether it was $30 (my shoes) or $5, I would never talk to a customer the way they did to me. read more
