NEVER BUYING AT TJ MAXX AGAIN THANKS TO THIS LOCATION! Cashier woman last night was a really nasty grinch!!!! I was happy purchasing 3 cute shoes on clearance and I knew something was off just because she had me wait extremely long to help me checkout with my purchase knowing the line was long and I had NO cart or bag so she took her time. I came to shop at another TJ Maxx store in Santa Monica to complain because I did not see 3 shoes in my bag but only 2. Santa Monica had the exact same shoes but wouldn't hold for me more than overnight even though they knew Glendale messed up!!! Turns out Glendale still had my bag of shoes (wow see what a crazy mean cashier that was last night!?? Just another jealous woman!!) so I ended up returning the other two shoes and luckily my family was around Glendale to pick up those shoes. After this HELL of an experience, I vow NEVER TO SHOP AT TJ MAXX AGAIN. Glendale and Santa Monica have ZERO CLASS. Worst customer service ever and no true apology was given by the incompetent cashier who was a true grinch last night!!! All done before Thanksgiving too!!! Maybe it's the transition to the fall but there sure ain't much here for men.....I usually always find something but not today. The men's section upstairs has shrieked to almost an 1/8 of the store. Currently waiting in my car for the store to open. Being that we live in Covid-19 times, I called the store to confirm if the store will open at 9:30 am as stated here on Yelp. I listened to the prerecorded message and indeed, it was stated that the store will be open at 9:30. I arrive at 9:45 am only to find that the store is still CLOSED! The hours posted on the door say 10 am. This has officially become one of my favorite stores! My goal is to become Duchess, but I probably won't even have to try. They have a great selection of high end products for a fraction of the price, and I especially am a fan of the HUGE skincare shelf that they have that could get overlooked. They have everything from clothing to home stuff, and even have a selection of bath bombs! So far I've found great items like fragrance sets of Versace, Hermès, Kate Spade and others, but I specifically go there for the makeup--which if you like stores/brands like Mac, Clinique, Estée Lauder, and a few other well-known ones, you can find great things at a great price. I've been here a few times and honestly the variety isn't worth the traffic you have to deal with to get here. This location is small and usually pretty messy. If you're already in the area it's worth it to go in and take a look but if you're gonna drive a while to get here I would suggest the burbank location. More options for shoes and clothes. read more

Tiny little TJ Maxx with not a very big selection. To make matters worse, customer service is terrible. Brought all of my items to the cashier, paid, and when I got home realized the eye cream I brought up to the register was not in my bag. Looked at my receipt which had several beauty products- and believed the product was on my receipt- I mean why wouldn't it be? I brought it up to the register. Called the store and spoke to the manager- she checked the register that I had been at and found my missing product- "Oh yeah, it's right here- you can come back for it if you would like." Ok. So I drive all the way back to TJ Maxx, show them my receipt and the manager says "No- this isn't the product- you never paid for this. The numbers on your receipt don't match." GRRRRREAT. This location really doesn't offer a lot of choices in handbags, clothing, or shoes :( so you're probably wondering why I rated them 4 stars. Simple, it's a brand new TJ Maxx!! The second floor really gives this location a "department" store-type of feel and everything (such as interior decorating) looks much more modern and nicer overall. The best thing about a new store is it's smell. Sometimes when I visit old TJ Maxx locations, I feel all dirty and stuffy inside 'cause I feel like I'm sniffing in all the mold, mildew, and dust the store's accumulated over the years - but this one made me feel so clean haha. I don't know if they sprayed perfume around the store, but the scent was so calming. I didn't find anything for myself since everything pretty much sucked, but it was fun walking around and exploring. B and I also bought an iHome iPod docking station for $70, which was pretty cool. Anyway, there's really nothing else I have to say other than the store's super clean and smells nice hahah. read more

I love that all the palettes aren't cracked and trashed. You'll find a lot of Too Faced, ABH, glamglow, and Dr Jart. It's not bad, but a small collection. They probably have more in the back but don't have space to put it out. Lots of designer bags in the front. The shoe selection is small though. read more

Let me say this, the other yelp reviewer who overheard the jewelry counter lady talking about her country is probably the same lady who flat out chose to serve a middle-aged Armenian woman over a 20 year old non-Armenian lady. I had been looking around the jewelry case for several minutes while the jewelry sales woman, who was Armenian ( I wouldn't care what ethnicity she was until she made it an issue) proceeded to put a necklace on another customer. I took a number (the next one to be called) and waited near the item I wanted. As soon as the sales woman is done, a middle-aged Armenian woman comes over next to me and the counter lady starts talking to her in Armenian and helping her. I wave my ticket saying, "I'm next." The lady then says, "Let me help her first." It was SO OBVIOUS that she flat out ignored me & the fact that I had the next number because I was not Armenian and I probably looked too "young" to purchase anything of value. Let me just say I don't like this location because it doesn't have home goods stuff, but I will NEVER be back to this location based on what I experienced and what the other yelp reviewer said about an employee talking trash about America. read more

This store is in a shopping center with both a Ross and Nordstrom Rack. I feel like the Ross is too much of a mess to go through and I can't justify the prices at Nordstrom rack for my clothing needs so TJ Maxx is my happy medium. This store is clean, well organized, and carries good quality clothing at a reasonable price. They have a section in the center for designer clothing which is regularly stocked with the likes of Emilio Pucci, Dolce and Gabbana, Roberto Cavalli, Diane Von Furstenberg, Michael Kors, etc. Outer edges of the center are categorized by trends like nautical inspired, boho-chic, spring dresses, and more. The one thing I dislike is the shoe section. It doesn't have a lot of selection, and all the cute shoes are not in my size. Otherwise, I will definitely be shopping here in the future. Pro tip- When it gets crazy in the parking lot, park underground by the escalators. A lot of people tend to circle around the top but there is a whole underground lot that is usually pretty empty. read more

I love some of there items but can never find anything in my size or that isn't damaged somehow. Sometimes the staff doesn't go around frequently to keep the place tighty and many things end up on the floor. When the stuff is on the floor people step on them, run over them with their carts and aren't kind enough to even pick them up if they dropped it! It makes me feel like I am shopping at Ross . Lol! But it's funny how I can go to the one in pasadena & Encino and those are clean, neat and nothing is in the floor. Just seems to be always Glendale !!! read more

I have been an avid shopper of TJ Maxx for years now, and am always able to find amazing deals. I came here with my aunt who was looking for clothes for her and my cousins. We first went to jewelry department to browse around- I always find beautiful necklaces here! Then we went to the juniors department and were able to find jeans in the clearance section that were marked down from 24.99$ to 11.99$- this is an amazing deal! Overall, this location is well organized, full of merchandise, and a large parking lot- so you are bound to find parking! I like TJ Maxx a lot as they have mediocre brands for bargains and high end brands like Fendi for bargains as well. read more

The worst part would be that this place is on the expensive side. Overpriced and I can find in other placed for much cheaper. The location is really nice though. Okay, with the much advertised opening of this TJ MAXX (On buses, in bus shelters, in newspapers, and on television) you would think that this place was something SPECTACULAR, GRANDIOSE, Something worth tearing down a Barnes & Nobles down for... NOT!!! The clothes here are designer.... CHECK! I saw a Versace purse for $700, but at discount prices- NOT! More people walked in and walked out empty handed. The clothes are not at all in season... Sure, you want an Ed Hardy tank top- that will set you back $30.00 The original BARNES & NOBLE Store was cut almost in 1/2! Now, this place is so jam packed with women's, purses, shoes, jewelry, and check out on the 1st floor. 2nd floor is kids, baby, women's workout, intimates, men, lingerie, luggage... oh yea- no men's shoes!! I think they cut the store in half for all the storage.. The lines are extremely long for people buying 1 or 2 things b/c there are only 4 check stands!!! This store isn't for me. I had never been into a TJ Maxx, but I've seen the commercials and I understand the concept. There were a couple of racks of dresses that were nice. I picked one dress from the rack with a cut that would surely accentuate my curves, but the dress just reminded me of something a few of nicely (I didn't say best) dressed women at work would wear. It's not a bad thing, but it's not me. They were kinds of things that Stacy and Clinton of "What Not to Wear" would approve of. This store has two stories with the junior stuff upstairs. The bargain racks on both floors are tightly packed, but everything is so squashed together, it makes for an uncomfortable shopping experience. If I'm going to do bargain shopping, I would prefer Loehmann's or Nordstrom Rack. The shopping center (which includes a Nordstrom Rack, Ross and Petco) where this is located has a huge parking lot. I love this store in general because you never know what you will find in the here. Great deals to be found! That said, this store in particular is kinda weird. It's kinda small and they are trying to make it more high end (maybe due to the Glendale locale?) and have filled the whole front are with pricey designer items. I of course skip this area and go upstairs to kids and clearance areas or to the back with the ladies clothes lol. I've never been here and not found a mess somewhere. I do not come here when I need something in a pinch because they do not seem to have the largest assortment of misc items. I come here for browsing or on a general shopping trip lol. She kept me standing at the register for five minutes while she kept trying to confirm the price. First off, I liked this store a lot more when it was Barnes 'N' Noble. Anyways, I'm not a fan of TJ Maxx stores as it can be almost impossible to find anything good, the stores are usually messes, and customer service consists of someone giving you the stink eye but this store doesn't have the first two problems as much as other TJ Maxx's. I love this store! When I feel like spoiling myself to higher quality goods, I always go to this TJ Maxx. It's much cleaner then Ross and the selection of clothes and shoes are great. Right now they have an amazing selection of leather boots, kinda pricy but definitely cheaper then retail. So ladies come get your winter style foot wear here:) Their clearance area upstairs is really good. I can usually find a good pair of American Eagle jeans here for like 12 bucks...score!!! I just started shopping at this TJ Maxx location and I love it! It's my go-to spot for career style clothing. When I went to the dressing room, I was greeted by a super friendly employee who had a smile on her face, which put a smile on my face! And the dressing rooms were very nice, clean, and well lit. Love their handbags department. Found a great bebe handbag here for $29.99 (the original price was $99). There's always a big assortment of bags at any price, most come with great discounts. The one thing I really dislike here is the distance between you and the mirror when you want to try on a little more expensive handbags (michael kors for example), because they are locked and you can't take it with you without assistant help. I think this issue has to be solved. I don't want to ask the assistant to unlock all the bags because I'd like to see them all in the mirror. Why don't they just hang another mirror or put the expensive bags next to the existing ones??? read more

I agree with the others - take your TJ Maxx'in elsewhere. Seriously, you can do better. The place is oddly-laid out and oh-so-cluttered. I LOVE me some discounts and bargains, and will gladly stand in lines and look through crazy messy racks if I know I am getting a good deal. It thus says a lot that I literally walked in and out within a minute during my first and only visit to this place. There is a new TJ Maxx in Burbank that's much better. The only reason why I gave this 2 stars is because this store has good inventory. The customer service is HORRIBLE though. Don't try to 'run in real quick' and buy something. When I did around mid-morning, there was only one cashier working with 3 people in line. I waited at least ten minutes in line before the cashier summoned another cashier to help. Meanwhile, an employee was working nearby and saw myself and other customers standing in line; she did nothing to help. I won't be going back here. read more

For now, it's a better organized Ross. I went shopping for undergarments here and things were actually organized by sizes and it was easy to find what I wanted. On this point alone, I will give them 4 stars. Please, try to go to the Ross next door and tell me you can find your size amongst the mixed rack. Pretty impossible. So at TJ Maxx, I was able to find what I wanted right away without looking through every single item. So even if you don't find what you want or it's too pricey for you, at least you don't have to spend the better half of a day to realize you're not going to buy something after all. It's a time saver. So I hope they keep up their organization and make a point to keep the store in order. read more
