This is a smaller TJ Maxx, although I don't think any of them are actually big, lol, but I was looking for a couple of gifts for Christmas, and I thankfully was able to find a few things. They have a little bit of everything here, from home goods to decor, to clothing & shoes, to jewelry, to beauty, to kids, to fun knick-knacks, and to limited food items. There was an incredibly long line when I first arrived, but by the time I went to checkout, it was not so bad, and it moved fairly quickly. No real employee friendliness or customer service aka no joy, which was a bit disappointing, and I don't expect to be approached; in fact, I like to do my own thing, but a welcoming smile or greeting, especially during the holiday season of giving & good tidings, would have been very welcome and made me happy and feel good about shopping there. One cashier, 20 people in line. This is absolutely ridiculous. 7 total checkouts available but never enough staff working registers. Waiting in line for 20-30 minutes could be completely avoided but lack of front end staff causes these issues. Better staffing and less hassle would make this a better experience. read more

I stopped by this TJ Maxx with one purpose only - to find earrings to go with a dress I was wearing later that day. I was impressed with this TJ Maxx's jewelry department. It was a sizeable space with lots of jewelry in glass cases but there were a few spinning stands with accessories on them I could access myself. Unfortunately, I didn't find anything that was suitable for my dress, but I appreciated the offerings. Otherwise the store appeared reasonably neat, which is a big deal for such a store. read more

It's not what it used to be. This was once a great store. Now it's simply ok. The deals on cologne and men's grooming are impressive. Yet when it comes to our clothing, where to begin? This is a high volume store. Am certain entitled customers throw clothes around to represent a hurricane. I actually feel sorry for the employees, as there aren't enough of them to keep up in my opinion. The lines at the registers alone is shocking. There is a good amount of home decorations for young families. This could decrease Christmas costs a bit. For those into savings, this might be a proper location for you. As for what I looked for, not much in XL sweaters or sweatshirts. If you're tall there are other places. Then again getting in and out of the parking lot is a headache. read more

9/25/21 Time for another new purse?...I wonder if it would be easier...nevermind. if she likes it, that is what matters. We are here at TJ Maxx killing time, having fun and seeing what is on sale. Our vacation is still going on even if we are not traveling to distant locations. The atmosphere here is pleasant and has many people doing what we are doing. Most people are still wearing masks, but everyone appears to be in high spirits. The place seems more organized than I was expecting. The men's jewelry has some bulky jewelry, but I did recognize a blue ring I have seen online and Kay Jewelers. Here it cost $19.99. I am not intrested, but it is nice to know it is cheaper here. Many things will be gone after a few months with new stuff coming in. I think I have enough stuff, but I am still having fun here. read more

This is a small location located in a great shopping area. Home goods, world market, and Burlington are all here. The baby/toddler clothes section is "blink and you'll miss it". The toy section is adequate. I've bought a few shirts here although the selection is not as plentiful as other locations. Parking is super easy in the large lot. read more

I could not find anything I wanted to purchase unfortunately. They have many good deals. There are many things at their clearance spots. But Home Goods on a same street has better prices for kitchen stuff. It's not crowded at all. Staffs are nice. Parking lot is right in from of the store. read more

This TJ Maxx is tucked into the corner of a busy strip mall and easy to forget about. I've been in here plenty of times and never really found anything good, also making it not memorable. I'd probably have kept checking it out, but a bad customer service experience made me sure I won't be back anytime soon. I came to make a return. I didn't have my receipt, so totally bad on me. The items still had the original store tags. My cashier said he'd have to call the manager because the items weren't in the system. He was pleasant and apologetic. (All the cashiers seemed competent but overworked.) He paged the manager five times, and another cashier tried to call her on the walkie talkie, but we ended up waiting about 10 minutes. My cashier apologized for the wait, but I wasn't bothered because he seemed genuinely helpful. The manager comes over--certainly not in a hurry--and declares that these brands aren't sold in this store so they can't be returned. I point out the original tags and she waves her hand and repeats that these aren't brands they carry. (Because clearly she knows thousands of brands off the top of her head?) I later called corporate to check on this policy, and it is the case that an item not in the system doesn't have to be accepted for return. Given that TJ Maxx has an ever rotating stock, it makes sense that things get knocked out of the system. But it wasn't so much the inability to return that bothered me so much as it was her dismissive attitude. She didn't care that I'd waited 10 minutes for her to come to the register--she gave a half hearted excuse when the cashier pointed out we'd been waiting for her--and she didn't seem to care about trying to be friendly to a potential customer. I would have spent the equivalent of my return and probably more here. But given the bad management attitude and lackluster inventory, I'll shop elsewhere. read more

Guaranteed good finds: from brand name purse, jewellery, clothing & shoes...you name it. Love this TJMaxx, I always leave with more than I intended to buy. I wish they have more cashiers the lines can be ridiculously long because they lack cashiers. Constantly call for back up to help. read more

This place has a bit of everything - clothing, accessories, picnic items and cookware. I spent most of my time looking at purses. The strip mall has lots of stores conveniently located near each other. Home Goods (same owners) is just down the block. read more

Just RUDE!!! I waited, patiently, behind a line of about 10 customers. Meanwhile, 4 cashier worked diligently to clear the line. After 10 people, I was the only customer left in line... that's when 2 of the 4 cashiers decide d they would "go on break", rather than wait on me, then walked away from their registers. RUDE and disrespectful! So, I asked them why they closed their register before checking me out... One said "We are on break, now, but I'll reopen, just for you...". I told her I'd rather go where they respect their customers, then left. I returned and reported the incident to the store manager and she was very receptive, BUT I let her know that, my shopping experience was ruined, then left, never to return. Of all the TJ Maxx in the area this is probably my least favorite. Its nearly impossible to get a parking space without doing several laps AND stalking people and the selection in the store itself is a fraction of what can be found at any of the 3 others within just a few miles. The only real thing going for it is I like a number of other places in this shopping center so I'm frequently in the area. read more

Worst experience I've ever had in a TJ Maxx. Stood in line for 15 minutes, which isn't an issue because they were busy. When it was time to check out, we wanted to buy a sled that didn't have a price tag on it. The workers didn't know what to do so started naming off random prices and finally one said to just "call another store and ask them" so they tried, with no luck. Finally they come back to us 30 minutes later saying it is "$169.99" & we said WHATT?? Where did you get that price from? They said "we called our manager and asked" and I was like??? As if their manager has the price of every item memorized. Yeah, ok. Needless to say we said no to the sled. The employees were rude about it too. read more

This store is under stocked and unorganized as well. Whenever I go in to look for dress clothes, I get frustrated by the size mixtures and unorganized shoe section. Checkout line is long and moves at a steady pace but not fast enough. Although there might be plenty of cashiers, it still moves really steady(aka slow). read more

I am a believer in never paying full price and my holy trinity is TJ Maxx, Marshall's and Filene's Basement. Half of my wardrobe, purses and shoes is from these stores. You just need patience, tenacity and a sprinkle of luck. It increases your chances of finding steals and deals if you are strategic in your approach. Think of the demographics (and by that I mean make blanket generalizations of patrons from your observations like I have) of the location you are visiting and which stores you like that are in a 5-10 mile radius of that location. From what I can gather, each of these stores source their inventory from local stores and department stores. Let's take the Marshall's in Pentagon Row and the TJ Maxx in Potomac Yard as examples. Both are in close proximity to Pentagon Fashion Center but TJ Maxx, which is further away, gets more high end brands from stores in Pentagon Fashion Center. I won't go to the Marshall's ever because the metro station gives access of the store to swarms of teenagers who pick through the inventory and the store is always a mess. There is a reason why this stores stocks a lot of Baby Phat and the purse selection rarely includes upscale brands. My guess is a lot of their inventory is from Macy's right across the street. The TJ Maxx in Potomac Yard is one of my favorites in VA. It's not metro-accessible and it's across from the BMW and Porsche dealerships. From the amount of luxury goods I've procured from this location, I have been able to determine that Coach, BCBG and Nordstrom in Pentagon Fashion Center send their old inventory to this location. Very high concentration of Dooney & Bourke handbags and I've most recently spotted Bliss Spa products. But remember, these goods are limited so it takes regular repeat visits before you hit the motherload. Also, prices can only go down the week after if the item is still there. So that's my theory on bargain hunting with the holy trinity. Stick with me and you'll be a savvy bargain shopper in a silk Elie Tahari dress that retailed for $400 that you only paid $30 for in no time. The reason I was writing this review was to rejoice in the fact that my search for a new tea kettle is officially over after 9 months of hunting. Recall the point about patience and tenacity. I found a red enamel Chantal tea kettle in perfect condition at this location and now I can boil water in style again. read more

TJ Maxx is the best. This one is a little sparse so you gotta go frequently to get the good stuff. The location is great because its super close to Home Goods. I recommend checking out both. read more

This TJ Maxx looks less messy than some of the other stores. But it's probably because it had a lot less merchandises. I usually cannot find any clothes I want in this store. When it comes to home or kitchen items, Home Goods in the same shopping plaza has much better selection. read more

Okay for a great deal. This one is about on par with the others, section for guys is lacking, store is somewhat is disarray, staff not very friendly. Parking lot is such a pain even on regular days as it shares a lot with a lot of other high traffic stores (Home Goods, Giant Grocery Store, World Market, etc). read more

I had the WORST EXPERIENCE HERE. The place is under stocked and under-organized. However what I noticed as well upon checking out was I got a cashier who was trying to get me to sign up for a credit card for TJ MAXX without telling me it was a credit card. So of course, I thought this was a discount card and said yes I will get this card. I asked continually if I would have to pay for this card and he said no. However when I checked the form that I filled out, it said Credit Card. AND I CAUGHT HIM! I then told him that I do not have a job and could not pay for this. He was not listening. A woman in line stepped up as well and told the cashier, "HEY! Do not sign her up for a credit card is she is uncomfortable with it!". They still signed me up anyways. I then took what I bought, left, and called in and cancelled the card. Giving fair warning to anyone in advance, do not fall for the tricks. read more

Everything is on the floor here, it's picked through as well so if you manage to find anything that's not broken, has a bullet hole, or a blood stain you're doing pretty good here. Marshalls which is also owned by tjmaxx down the road is also tore up and rosses too. Basically shopping down rt 7 is rough. read more

Horrible customer service & messy. Never again. Found a decent dress ON THE FLOOR. Only to realize the zipper was ripped and the seems torn. Took it anyways because I loved the print. Asked cashier if they can reduce the price for the horrible condition and said she could reduce it by 50 cents. So petty. I would've bought it if she politely said she could not reduce. read more
