Today we had great customer service from the store manager, I did not catch her name on the phone call. My daughter and I went to this TJ Maxx this afternoon and purchased some fun items for her summer trip. Sadly, one of the items she was really excited about went missing sometime between when we purchased it and when we walked 50 feet to our car. Ahem. I called the store manager and she was very kind, she looked in the lost and found and even the surveillance video! Sure enough, the salesperson put the item in the shopping bag... it just somehow disappeared while we were walking and we are convinced there was an elf. While my daughter still does not have her super-bling cowgirl belt, we really appreciate the store manager going above and beyond by looking at the video. I love coming here to do gift shopping. There's always a good selection of home goods, clothes, and more. Most of the clothes are also reasonably priced other than their luxury / off the runway line The $0.99 tote bags are great for personal use and as gift bags. My only complaint is the stupidly long line to check out. They never have enough cashiers, ever. And some move slow as if they enjoy seeing people suffering in line. What I love: Deborah in jewelry who is a delight. I bought my favorite purse here. Paid $75 and it looks like I paid $750. It even has metal feet on the bottom to protect the leather. It's fun cruising the aisles. I never know what I'm going to find and it's an adventure. I shop here mainly for hair do-dads . . .head bands, clips and so on. They had a least a dozen items where the box was either missing, torn up, or the protection was not in the box and the items were rattling around inside the box. A few tops that had holes or started to unravel. A very limited selection especially for men. Most items (a little bit of everything, that I looked at) was reasonably price. read more

So, let me start off by saying... you won't normally find me at TJ Maxx. Pretty much ever. I would say this is the first time I step in one since my divorce (happily) Why now you ask? Well, I needed since diffusers for my house and my ex-wife used to get them there all the time in Fresno. So, google-mapped it and made sure I went to one NOT in SF proper because that would just be no bueno. As many of you know, parking at this mall is just completely useless in terms of access. I don't know who designed it but someone should tell them it's not in line with my limited knowledge of civil engineering stuff. ANYHOW, I finally managed to park towards the end of the labyrinth, and made my way to TJ Maxx, It was clean, well maintained and definitely welcoming. In my quest to buy diffusers, I couldn't really find that many, so I went with candles. I am 48 years old and it wasn't until this day that I spent money on a bunch of candles. I'm quite proud with the selection. They had so many candles that I had to go back to the front and get a shopping cart, just for candles. I spent about $65 on maybe 8 of them. Which, if I ask one of my nurse friends, she'll balk at me and tell me she's spends $100 on ONE. Hopefully I will never get to that point in my life. Just the "quick" tip... it was a good experience. They had an insane selection, from "amazing smelling pine tree" to "cringe omg what is that stinky feet" candle smell. If you need reasonably priced candles... come here. read more

One of the smallest TJ max stores I have seen. The selection of goods is limited. But for San Francisco where TJMax is rare, this is not a bad option. It's located in a good shopping area along with many other different stores, very convenient and with a parking lot in front of the store. read more

This TJ Maxx store in Serramonte Shopping Center is one of the best TJ Maxx stores in my opinion! The store is very clean, very good illuminations, the merchandises area is well organized. I like shopping in this TJ Maxx if I'm coming here in the less busy time. However, the parking lot is very busy at the weekend or the holiday. It is very hard to find a parking at the peak hours. So I'll recommend you should come to this store earlier at the morning. Later at the evening or shopping at the weekdays if you can. read more

Tons of nice purses and shoes, shelves of beauty products, a nice selection of home decor, and a great Runway selection. I've seen Gucci Marmont purses, YSL heels, Celine eyeglasses, Moschino wallets, Valentino Rockstuds, and more. We were waiting for our dinner so we bummed around TJ Maxx. TJ's is smaller than Ross but the store is well organized. There are a lot of Coach and Michael Kors bags mixed in with that lush, Jessica Simpson's. I like their home goods section. I found a cupcake tin with silicone cups for a good price. I also found mini loaf tins. The bedding and towel section can be bigger but the store is limited in space. Check out was pretty quick. Parking is a hassle so we parked near the old JCP and walked over. read more

This review is based upon my experience at this location. My experience is a warning to customers who are purchasing/returning items here. I am shocked at how the managers approached the situation. Both managers did not give me any options for this complicated in store return. I was forced to the corporate office to get approval for this return. Although the corporate office approved this return, I could not come back to do the return with the store manager bc I have to run errands. But, let me explain my experience from beginning to end. I came to the store to do a return, and a young Filipino manager that was assigned to register 7 walked away with the jacket I'm returning. The keyholder scans the jacket, and comes back to tell me that he could not accept the item bc the item according to the price tag is incorrect. He accused me for wearing it, told me to find the item elsewhere, and lied to me that the store don't sell the vendor. He calls the store manager (Julie B) and the store manager explains the same response as the keyholder. Both of them got attitude too! I realized I wasted money on a jacket that a previous customer bought/placed a tag on a different jacket. read more

This TJ Maxx used to be at Westlake Shopping Center but has now moved to Serramonte Center. Unfortunately this new location is one floor instead of two. Seems like it's a little smaller but it still has all the things a TJ Maxx would have - clothes, electronics, handbags, bath things, home decor, luggage, travel accessories, stationary, kitchen supplies, make up, etc. I came to look for a specific travel accessory which is TSA approved locks, but they didn't have any -sad face-. I guess I have to test my luck at Ross tomorrow! In the front, they have men's shaving things in the corner, electronics, notebooks, mugs, candles, and water bottles. It's no fancy department store but it is what you expect it to be so it gets high rankings. It has everything you need for a deal. I have gotten work out clothes, housewares, travel items and gifts here no problem. It's not the cleanest and most organized but it has some goods for a deal. I had a gift card that I was trying to use up for TJ Maxx so I came here on the Monday after New Year's to spend some cash. I probably should have expected this but the inventory was still pretty low post the holiday rush. I was hoping to get some toys or clothes for my toddler but it was pretty slim pickins. I did find a couple of items for baby #2 so I was happy about that. Because the prices here are definitely a bargain, I actually had trouble trying to find more items to buy so I could use up all of my funds. And we're not talking about a lot of money either, like $30. I ended up walking out with a few clothing items as well as some snacks and still had $5 to spare. We had purchased over $1000 in merchandise at the home store and we asked if we could return to any location. They said yes as long as you have your receipt. Returning several pieces today, and we are being given a hard time. We lost our home in a fire last year and we are trying to redecorate the house. They refuse to give me what my receipt says. The manager is stating that it needs to match their own merchandise. If it does not they will give me what ever their prices States. Do not purchase from this company their return policy is a fraud. We are having to wait giving us all sorts of excuses. Arguing with me the customer. I will be contacting the corporate office. The manager finally said they will return only if the prices match. We have been waiting for over 25 minutes. They are having us wait until they make new tags??? Why can't they do this afterwards is beyond me. This TJ Maxx is decent although parking can be a bit of a mess on weekends. It is fun to browse but I generally find that their inventory is a bit lackluster, especially in the clothing department. I really couldn't find anything of my liking in the clothing department! Their bags are fun to browse. They tend to have some nicer brands like Kate Spade and Michael Kors. Bought a perfume already been opened when I took out of the box & was dented! Went back since I didn't leave yet. Asked if I could get an exchange for another item. The cashier lady said ok & I asked if she could open the safe for perfume. Told me to go over there someone's there without even checking. Went there nobody was there, I said there's nobody here to open it!?? She called someone else to open it. Took the item back to the register & manager guy was staring like he had a problem?? Over 10 customers in line waiting checkout and only two cashier and the line moving super slow 5min later still two cashier

After visiting this store twice this week I've noticed the men's section is very small and unorganized. Very messy in a few departments with long lines and not any cashiers. As frustrating it is in waiting in line, the checkout process is very smooth. Cashiers are all friendly and very helpful with the interaction (only if they picked up the pace of checkout). I came in to purchase some gifts and the tall manager with the beard at the front was very helpful explaining the purple tag policy and helping me pick a perfume from the box. Same customer service with the other shorter Filipino manager she also was friendly showing me around the jewelry cases and picking out a beautiful gold necklace! Only improvement I could see is speeding up the checkout but worth the wait! read more

If I could give fewer stars I would. Loaded my cart full of all of my Xmas shopping and found a pajama set for 39.99 marked down to 13.00. At the register the manager says someone messed up and they can sell me the bottoms for 13. But the top for original price of 39.99 , although it was one set originally 39.99. I had a horrible experience on July 10th early afternoon time. I was returning items from a online order. The stuff member Smia (women in the picture) had no idea how to do it. She asked help and the store manager Jose C(men in the picture) came to assist. However, both of them seemed have no idea how to process. They spent long time checking items back and forth. I offered my original order details with pictures of each items in my phone to help them . But they still looked uncertain of the steps of return. Finally they started making each items a tag which was checked by another store to be wrong tags. After about 60 mins, finally they figure out what items I keep and what items I return. All the items, shoes and clothes have labels with name and size info on them, hence it took them about 8-10 mins to process each item!? At last, they requested me to provide the same credit card I used to purchase, I don't have it with me so they declined the return. I have no problem with the card requirement, but can't you mention it earlier since you know this might happen? Later that day, I went to another TJmaxx store (San Mateo store)and it took about 15 mins for them to correct all the wrong tags and do a refund . read more

I came to buy some shirts for work and while I was shopping a lady ran out the door with a bunch of clothes in front of everyone. I completely understand that this is not the fault of the store, but this store needs to treat their paying customers better. when it was my turn to pay I told my cashier that the pair of shoes i wanted had one shoe that was super creased while the other one was brand new. And it was the last pair in my size. The cashier was very sweet and said he'd ask the manager. Even he agreed that the shoe looked worn down. Two ladies came up Julie and Casandra (I believe was her name) and started talking about me to each other saying they definitely wouldn't give me any mark downs and that there was nothing wrong. The poor cashier turned around super embarrassed and said sorry. I asked to speak to the manager and she left me standing there. The other lady (Casandra) said that she couldn't do anything as Julie was the manager. I am witnessing someone steal over $100 worth of clothes while I'm standing here paying for all my things way over ($100's) and the manager treated me like trash. Hi TJ Max fans, yes, disappointing re-located store from WL to D.C., ~Dec2017. I've shopped Chicago, Boston, NYC, to Orlando, so I've been around. The buyer or Mgr, not to varying about customers. Storage carts left out in aisles & TJ help, not helpful; they could be, so rude, "Don't touch this or that!" No joy about Staff & not many smiles. Major tweaking needs to be done, can I snap my fingers? Only would go back, if, I got Fairy God mother's orders. read more
