The cons: - I think it's a bit disingenuous to ask if we want chips and salsa to "munch on while you look at the menus" without mentioning that chips and salsa cost $4, because how could we know that without having had a chance to look at the menus first. Especially when chips and salsa are free at a lot of Mexican places. - My girlfriend and I both got the Cody's Sugar Shack Birria Quesatacos (3 tacos + rice and beans). This place is definitely off the beat and path. It's randomly tucked in a residential area, so easy to miss. Inside is brightly colored honoring Mexican culture and traditions. Walk in and you feel like you belong. We went late afternoon for an early dinner on a Friday around 4:45. We were asked if we had a reservation even though there was one couple in the place. When we said no, there was a pause. They then gave us a table near the front. Mind you it was a very nice table. There were a few people at the bar and as time went by people did start to come in. Some with reservations but most with none. Everyone was seated so I can only imagine that the place fills up quickly for dinner. And there is a reason for that. Josh our server couldn't have been more in tune with us and everyone else he encountered. His energy and recommendations were at mind reading levels. He was available for water and drink refills without being asked and left us alone to enjoy our meal but engaged enough to have some fun light banter. Onto the drinks. The specialty margaritas are among the best we have ever had. We had bourbon, and tequila libations that were both nuanced in their flavors without sacrificing the taste of the primary liquor. Refreshing and with a nice "punch". Then came the food. First some chips, green and red salsa for the table. Perfect crunch to the fried triangles and salsas so fresh and flavorful. The entrees are plentiful. Nachos with chicken can feed a family. The ground beef soft tacos are perfectly on point for getting the staple of a taco restaurant. The birria tacos were unctuous and the jus silky. The haddock tacos were perfectly cooked without a hint of "fishiness". Didn't have room for dessert but ordered anyway. Homemade churros with chocolate dipping sauce and a tres leches apple cinnamon with whipped cream are the stuff of legends. This is a must stop if you are in the area. Let me first start by saying it was the most incredible place ! From the moment I walked in with my 5 friends we were welcomed. We came from a hike and were hungry and Mexican sounded perfect. The drinks were delicious and homemade. The red sangria had a hint of cinnamon and some fruit in it . Outrageous! My friends ordered various maritias . Their margaritas were different flavored and presented in the most beautiful way. From sugared cranberries and sugared pineapples to beautiful garnish each flavor being delicious. I am not much of a Drinker but that sangria hit the spot and thoughout the dinner wound up drinking a total of 3!. Now to the meal. My friend ordered the sweet potato and corn bisque which she said was perfect. I had the chicken wings. They were sprinkled with conjito cheese and served with blue cheese perfection. Now the main course. They had a bunch of delcious options for tacos. From Brussels sprouts, duck , pork, chicken.etc. We wanted all of them and wanted to eat the whole menu! So we did a lot of sharing including a burrito bowl and pork burrito and got each of the tacos mentioned. Each taco was served with rice and beans or a salad. When I called them out on this they said that's what the fees are. Really? To top it off, they have a suggested tip totals on the bottom of the receipt. Went to this little gem while visiting my daughter in the Catskills, she and her partner recommended it and I can see why. Sitting on the main drag of one of the countless tiny hamlets in the area, this is a great find. It is a small restaurant but nicely festooned with Mexican decorative objects including a striking version of La Catrina Calavera, a. very famous Day of the Dead caricature developed by the great Mexican printmaker José Posada. But I digress. Great food and very attentive service, house made tortilla chips and salsa, yummy tacos, and much better quality rice and beans than the usual throwaway version. Stumbled upon this place after a long day of skiing and the guac and chips HIT THE SPOT. It was a really big portion and was super fresh and tasty! Chips were crispy and perfectly salted. Definitely also get the churros with the chocolate sauce because the churros are super light while the chocolate is dense and rich! A perfect combo. The birria tacos were all right, the meat inside was kind of tough and it was not super cheesy. The consome was pretty good though! read more

I was excited at the potential of this restaurant but was unfortunately underwhelmed by the food. I tried the duck tacos and I could have made them better myself. There was no flavor and they fell apart the instant I picked them up (soft shell was cracked in the center and the small amount of food inside came tumbling to the plate). And it was just two small tacos with no sides for $11. Those are city prices for food that is just not worth it. The classic guacamole was fine, but I think it left me and my family with sour stomachs the next day, I'll spare the details. My son got a quesadilla from the kids menu and while he enjoyed it, I was disappointed at how expensive the meal was for the amount of food we received. The quesadilla was tiny and the rice and beans that came with it was also barely anything and it cost $10 - my son was still hungry when we got home so I had to make him more food. The blood orange margarita was good but the Oaxacan Old Fashioned was too boozy. Traveling from PA to ski at Bellayre on our annual Catskills trip. Stopped in Tito's for drinks on Thursday, and was impressed enough by the Atmosphere & the drinks to get a reservation for Valentine's Day. Arrived and were immediately seated in the back area near the busy kitchen. Very impressed w the service. I am not a big Mexican food lover, but my wife is an aficionado so we end up eating it more than I like, all over the country. What can I say? We tried both the Classic Guacamole and the Apple Tequila Guac. Both were creamy and light, flavorful And fresh; I'll say the best I"ve ever have had in umpteen decades on this earth. Not a big fan of the Tequila Apple version but my wife loved it. I also opted for the Duck Tacos and found them savory and tasty, if not a bit on the small side, but I was already full on guac and chips, so that was no big deal. My wife had the chicken Enchiladas and enjoyed the mild heat and smokiness of the sauce and the overall experience. I batted cleanup on her large portion, and found the sauce to equal to my 2nd Gen Italian Mom's all day simmered "Sunday Gravy" w meat (but with a Mexican Flair of) All in all, we had a tremendous experience and spent this evening looking at returning in a few weeks to ski and eat here again, it was that much fun! read more

We were visiting from out of town and found this place and were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated with a quirky vibe. Our margaritas were delicious, shoutout to Kurtis. We had the carne asada and shrimp tacos. Both were very good, but wish it was a bigger portion or included one more taco. Guac was fresh and chips also came with two delicious salsas. I believe they are new and it definitely looks like they put a lot of work into the place. Their website also says they will expand menu which would be great- my husband was really craving fajitas but they didn't have them. Service was friendly. Great find near Belleayre. read more
