First time at Tisane, and I am definitely a fan of this place. If you live in the area, you know everyone is hyped over pekoe, let's just say this place is an upgraded version of that. It's also instagram worthy AF!!! The interior aesthetics, you walk in and the vibe just seems chill, they have music videos playing and it's lit with the most Christmas lights/decorations. The prices are reasonable. $4.95 with .50 add-ons, they have "trilogy" cups on the menu but when we asked about it they said it's coming soon. Drinks: I got "Jade", it's jasmine tea with lychee and honeydew...honestly, it was pretty amazing. My little one is Thee boba queen, she knows her boba, and she was really impressed. She got "winter blossom", it's winter blossom tea infused with winter-melon and crystal pearls. Overall, Tisane has won me over and this is the new go-to boba spot !!! read more

When I would first get their golden brown drink with regular sugar and ice, it's always so sugary that I feel like I am going to warp time and space. Tisane for me honestly doesn't live up to the hype... if you don't like your drinks overwhelmingly sweet like me then be careful when ordering here. I usually like to adjust my drinks to around half sweetness, and half sweet still ends up being sickeningly sweet here most of the time. (I've also requested 0% sugar one time to see what it would be like & I swearrr it was sweeter than 100% @ some shops.) Even my boyfriend who maxes out the sweetness at every boba shop complained about the level of sweetness here which says a lot IMO! Moving on from the sugar levels, I also struggled to find the tea flavor in most of the drinks I've tried. An example is the Blush -- it's not bad by any means but to me it lacked any real dimension in the flavor (and I love the Pretty in Pink @ Pekoe..). Another drink I was excited about was their mung bean drink (Green Panda), but it was also underwhelming, maybe b/c I was using the equivalent 7 leaves drink as reference. Again I might be biased because I don't like my drinks sweet but I expect the actual flavors of the tea & other ingredients to shine more in a 50% sweet drink. Overall (though I know I'm in the minority here) I would still pick Pekoe over Tisane. Still going strong! I cannot thank Tisane enough for producing such delicious and high quality drinks during this uncertain time. I usually order through DoorDash and get 2-3 drinks. One huge advantage is that Tisane's drinks hold up super well till the next day. Usually, milk tea will have some unappetizing separation, but Tisane drinks maintain their pristine condition all throughout the day and night. I've gotten Tisane a few times now, and I am a fan. The store is located in a large plaza on Capitol Expressway across from Eastridge Mall (in the same plaza as In-N-Out), which means there is plenty of parking. Drinks: My first drink at Tisane was an oolong milk tea with boba. I originally thought this drink was too sweet for my liking. They do customize sugar levels here though, and I'll opt for the 75% sweetness level. All other drinks I've had have been pretty good, and the 75% level sweetness has been perfect. Food: Garlic Waffle Fries - These fries are so good! It's not on their digital menu yet, but I saw a written sign for it by the cashier. Service: The person behind the cash register was very warm and welcoming. I haven't had an issue with waiting for my drinks too long either. TL;DR - Good boba place with friendly staff. [1] Green Pandan 50% sweet ($4.95) - You can taste a little bit of the mung bean but the flavor of pandan was stronger. Even at 50% sweet I thought it was still kind of too sweet. As good as this is, I don't think it's better than the mung bean milk tea drink from 7 Leaves. I think that one still wins in my book but this is still a good drink. After seeing all the reviews for Tisane, I was really looking forward to giving it a try, but left lackluster and a bit disappointed. The inside, as others have already pointed out, may remind you of another boba shop that is close by. It has a teenage, night club kind of feel. Not really my place to sit and have my boba, but to each their own. I tried their Duke of Earl drink given that I love earl grey milk tea. I got it with honey boba instead of the grass jelly. I adjusted the sweetness to 25% since I don't like my drinks too sweet. The drink consistency itself was luscious and smooth. You could taste the earl grey, and the honey boba was cooked well. It had the right amount of softness and chew to it. The thing that really through me off was that for 25%, it was still far too sweet. If I had known, I would have gotten 0% sweetness. I also got to try the Golden with honey boba instead of the original toppings it comes with. This was at 50% sweetness and my stomach may have just did cartwheels. Way. Too. Sweet. This was a sugar explosion. I thought my Duke of Earl drink was sweet - but after trying the 50% sweetness, I shouldn't have even been complaining about the sweetness of my drink. That being said, the quality, consistency, and boba all seemed okay. The sweetness was just way too much and needs adjusting. Kind of disappointed in myself for taking this long to try Tisane. A few friends told me about this place a few years ago, but I hardly visit the east side of SJ and couldn't find a good time to visit. I got the Sugar Hill here and it was really delicious. I believe I got the second to lowest level of sugar. It was really yum! As most people have mentioned, the vibe here is very similar to Pekoe. There is ample space inside, but due to there being no WiFi and low tables and couches, this is not an ideal spot for working on schoolwork or remote work. I usually get Barney and fruits and sub my mandarin oranges for lychee jelly, there's no way to let the staff know this now without the special request feature. If you've been around the boba arena in San Jose, then Tisane is definitely going to give you the "wow-this-looks-exactly-like-[insert name here]" vibes. Honestly, it looks EXTREMELY similar, with the same dark decor, the same pink hue sign, and interestingly named drinks that are nearly identical to the other location. In fact, I was so sure that this business was owned by the same person that I had to ask the cashier, who informed me that the stores were not related. Trying not to compare the two locations, I decided to get the Winter Blossom while the hubby chose the Golden. Prices are on the higher end, totaling $4.95 for each drink plus tax. I will have to compliment Tisane for their efficiency, pleasantly surprised by how fast both of our drinks were prepared despite the gigantic crowd. Unfortunately, we can't rave about the drinks. The Golden was an English milk tea with brown sugar and crystal boba, and while the taste of brown sugar was delicious, the drink itself was way too sweet. We would definitely lower that next time. The crystal boba, however, were perfect. As for the Winter Blossom, it was infused with wintermelon and even though the drink itself was refreshing, I really couldn't taste wintermelon and just like the hubby's drink, it was much too sweet. Even though Tisane didn't blow us out of the water, the hubby and I wouldn't mind coming back. The menu had multiple drinks that piqued our interest and now that we have a better idea of their "sweetness" level, we are hopeful that the second visit will be better. It's a club for teenagers who are between 12-18 years old. This is the spot you come to sip on your cool boba drink, freshly mixed at the boba bar so you can pretend to be an asian player who just got a bottle service at a club and the only reason all those young underage Abgs are swarming to your table is because - YOU GOT BOBA! 11/20/19 Had 3 lovely girls help me today. None were like the usual stuck up personalities at boba places THANK GOD! They were all nice and helpful, I got a 6 with strawberry bits instead (forgot the name) and a Ride or Thai drink. It definitely doesn't have a last minute or RUSHED THAI taste to it, so thank goodness also. Definitely not coming on nights or weekend nights, but if I'm near by and feeling that craving I'll consider this place. I've been here a couple times so far, but I'm really loving it. The drinks are super creamy and have a super strong tea taste. These two factors are things that I look for in milk tea! I personally like my milk teas slightly heavier and stronger in taste. I've had Golden, Duke of Earl, and Roast is History. My favorite has to be the Roast is History. The biggest downside is how sweet the drinks are. Definitely not for the weak hearted. My first time getting a drink I got 75% to be safe but it was really sweet. The next time I got 50% but it was still pretty sweet. I guess I'll have to try 25% sweetness the next time! Pearls were pretty good today and price pretty average (a bit more expensive than the usual boba shop). All in all, prob will come back but not too often ! read more
