Now Tipsy Dog BEWARE!!!! Horrible ! I ordered bbq wings well done and they were barely cooked and soggy not to mention I received buffalo wings instead, I also ordered a drink painkiller and it had literally no liquor, I confronted the bartender and he said he made it himself I don't know if I was Hispanic but the bartender ( male ) clearly had an issue with me and my family we went with. They attended to people who came after us with the same order read more

Wanted to stop by here as I was grabbing drinks celebrating my Birthday last night. Can I just say, the bouncer was sooooo racist towards me. Kept telling me he's seen me at the bar earlier that night already, when I had just stepped foot into the establishment for the very first time. I explained it's my first time in the area, even to the bar. He disregards anything I say, asks my friend and I for ID&Vax card. We comply and as I'm searching in my purse, he singles me out and tells me to place my face mask on and reiterates that I've been there earlier that night and the girl looked exactly like me. (This is where the racist vibes came in, I think to myself is it because I'm Asian and we all look alike?) Quite honestly the vibe he gave off and his last comment made was so unprofessional and rude that I decided to not go inside, I just left. I refuse to subject myself to any BS AND don't hate myself enough to spend money there after that incident. read more

My bf and I love burgers. I saw this place wa a opening up when I was at kcbc across the street so when they finally did we decided to come. It was super cold the night we came and there was one table open but a couple was making out hard core at the one next to it and well, we didn't want to intrude on them. Luckily a table at the high top just paid so we waited. The menu was short but really why do you need to complicate things at a burger place. My bf got the butchers burger while I got the chicken pesto burger; we both got fries as well. Honestly it was a very delicious burger. I was expecting a piece of grilled chicken but it was ground chicken and very flavorful. The butchers burger my bf devoured. He loves the idea of pastrami on the burger. All around everythung was good just maybe a tad salty, but that's easily fixed. read more

I came here on a Wednesday late afternoon for happy hour. I heard their drinks are strong and the prices were decent. The drinks were strong! I had a beer and a tequila lemonade. My friend got an Arnold Palmer lemonade which she enjoyed as well. Unfortunately we could not try the food because their chef was out sick. The bartender told us he didn't mind if we brought food in so that's what we did. The ambiance was sociable and I loved the lights and decor. It is a small bar with some outdoor seating. If I'm in the area I would come visit but it's not somewhere I would go out of my way to visit again. read more

The Butcher's Burger in particular is tasty divinity pattied up with the best cut of pastrami I've ever had the pleasure of choking between my two hands. You want a great burger come here. Pairs nicely with the mezcal negroni. The drink was perfectly balanced between bitter and sweet with the right amount of orange slices. Almost consumed it one gulp as it was refreshing. Spidey senses tingling! They're friendly here, maybe a little too friendly...I went here with my girls a few weeks ago and the owner kind of creeped us out. My roommate got a free shot for posting an Instagram story, and then the account followed right away and starting liking all her pictures. We left and then came back that night and Idk if he recognized us or what, but he brought more shots to the table and kept hanging around and getting too close without a mask ion! Seems kind of a ploy to get people to use their social media to get free stuff if you skeeve out on their feed after. She blocked the account, and I kinda wish we said no thanks to the tequila. read more

This place is costly. I went this past weekend, and a tequila/ soda is $14, and they serve it in plastic cups. If you are going to charge me $14 for a well drink, at least make it look nice or serve it in a nice cup. In the Bushwick area, most bars charge $8 or $9 for a well drink, but to charge people $14, I think it's out of line, and the service wasn't too excellent if I must say. Me and my friend will not be coming back to this place. read more

The staff here set the gold standard for personalized service during a pandemic! We came in on a whim this Friday night, enticed by good music and an interesting name. Nothing however could prepare us for the level of service that we were about to receive! Hector - the bouncer/host extraordinaire - was on top of his game. He kept us all laughing, kept the crazies out, and ensured that the lines remained socially distant both to order drinks and go to the bathroom. The tipsy version of me tried to be cool and spice up the barcrawl a bit by asking my friend to pick a drink based on bears... Grizzly, Polar, Brown, Koala... she went with "Arctic Fox". Oh jeez. What had I done? I relayed my quandary to Holly and Nicholas, who suggested a frozen Painkiller without skipping a beat. My friend loved her drink and I came out looking like a hero. Sweet!!! When I told the story to the bar manager, Girsal, he really went out of his way to make us feel even more at home. He explained the story behind the name of the bar and treated us like long lost friends. Sure, the drinks were great. But what really stood out to us was the way the staff made our night extra memorable. Of the half dozen or so bars that we stopped by on Friday this was the clear winner! We'll be back soon! Thanks again guys! read more

Butchers son, now known as "tipsy dog", is one of the best additions to the Bushwick collective area. I walked by two weeks ago and was invited in for a free shot from the owner and just the brief conversation I had with him, you can tell cares so much about the establishment and is extremely hardworking. I've been back 3 times since for the absolutely incredible gin lemonades and crispy af French fries. I ordered delivery from Butcher's Son, and I was not impressed. I ordered the Bushwick burger with fries, and it arrived nicely packaged in a plastic container within a large paper bag with ketchup and napkins. The fries and the bun were soggy, but the true disappointment was the meat. The burger had ZERO flavor! It reminded me of the plastic-wrapped reheated cheeseburgers from my high school cafeteria. Even worse, I discovered a long dark hair in the burger about two-thirds of the way through. Needless to say, I didn't finish the food, and I won't be ordering from Butcher's Son again. read more

I stumbled upon this place while walking around craving a burger. I'm so very glad I found the Butchers Son. I had the classic burger. It was absolutely delicious. The service was great. We did meet with the owner to let him know that the food was amazing. I was actually planning to come here for one of our moto events. Let's start with the good - the service and ambiance were on point. I went on a Sunday evening around 7pm. It was busy inside, but since I was a solo diner I was seated immediately by the bar. The servers were friendly and attentive. Probably 3-4 different people checked in multiple times throughout the meal. Where I struggle is with the actual burger itself. As a non-resident New Yorker, for me $22.50 is a lot to spend on a burger and fries. It needs to rock my world at that price point. And it just didn't. I got the B&B Burger. The onion ring tasted like it had been refried a second time to make my burger. The bread was crumbly like it was on the verge of going stale. The actual beef patty itself was decent - good flavor. Usually I can overlook an okay burger if the fries are top notch, but these fries were under-seasoned and also 'just okay'. I also got a side of Chicken Tenders. These were good - no complaints here. He recommended that I try his cola shake. That is what I got, plus the whipped cream. I was honestly looking for the taste of Coca-Cola because Cola is in the name. Regardless of what I expected, the shake was pretty good. I am not a shake person, so when he asked me to try it, I made an exception. Overall: I plan on coming back to Bun Haus. This was good eats.

Brennan & Carr

4.0(902 reviews)

"LIVES UP TO THE HYPE"…read more For the last few years I've been seeing videos on Tik-Tok and Facebook's "Reels" about Brennan & Carr, a Brooklyn institution that serves a famous roast beef sandwich. Video after video of the sandwich being dunked in the equally-famous "au jus" gravy that had my mouth watering. But I live in Westport, Connecticut, and though I go into Manhattan a lot (I used to live in the East Village), a rarely have a reason or need to go to Brooklyn, and I know few people there, so my wish to sample a Brennan & Carr roast beef has gone unrealized. Until this past Sunday. I recently befriended a fellow pop culture enthusiast and author who lives in Brooklyn, and he invited me to his book release party for his family and friends at his home on Sunday afternoon. When I Google-mapped my driving route, I wondered if Brennan & Carr might be close enough that I could go there after the afternoon party. To my surprise and joy, they were 5 minutes away! So I finally got to try a B&C RB sammie. Of course, I asked for it "all the way," with cheese, onions, and fully dipped in the au jus. That first bite was like a little taste of (roast beef) heaven!!! That first surge of "hot beef" flavor is unforgettable! I was amazed that the hefty bun it came on was able to simultaneously soak up all that au jus without falling apart at all! It maintained its integrity all the way to the final bite. Which, by the way, I could BARELY finish, it was so filling! I came practically starving, and that roast beef sandwich so filled me up that I barely touched the (excellent) onion rings that I had also ordered! Upon leaving (with a "dry" sandwich to go, with the au jus in a cup!), I had a great chat with the man at the cash register (whom I think was also the manager), Patrick Stackpole, about our shared love for Rod Serling's The Twilight Zone (that's a whole other story!). Suffice it to say, Brennan & Carr's roast beef sandwich more than lives up to the hype!!! Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna have my to-go roast beef for dinner!

What I will say - "Mmm. That is a tasty burger!" Is it the best I've ever had? How do I know but it's certainly in the conversation, and most likely better than a Big Kahuna burger. What I loved - two patties that weren't gigantic. Burgers have become either massive monstrosities that the human jaw isn't equipped to handle, or smash burgers, without an in between. Well, maybe not for you new yorkers - in Austin, we have P.Terry's! All in all it was fantastic! and I'd love to come again and try it with bacon and eggs on it in order to ensure I hit my weekly saturated fat allowances in 45 minutes. Also, absolutely loved the chicken tender sliders and would absolutely recoomend them. What has me ding them a bit - the whole ala carte cheeseburger thing - cmon, for the price of a 3 course meal at olive garden you can throw in some papas fritas. Second, the salad (not my idea to order it) was depressing and not good. Third - the $5 fee to a get a rez...although it's probably better than auto grat or those kitchen service charges... Fourth, the service was kinda mixed..one guy was nice while some others were ehhhh. I def like the vibe of the place and would def go back. So I dunno, maybe it should be 5 stars...but i dont think a bunny would eat that salad.

My friends and I were randomly kicked out without reason by the little sassy owner. He had his security do his dirty work because there was no reason for us to be "kicked out" we simply did nothing. This place is SUPER racist despite all of the saying & anti bully & racist bs written around. Drinks are watered down anyways. (Go to Abe's Pagoda Bar Or Vacations you won't regret it!) my friends & I were regulars because we live down the street & liked Dj RaRa. But will NEVER spend my African American money there ever again. THIS IS A WARNING, GO AT YOUR OWN RISK. read more
