    Soft opening day... 7/27/18.

I really wanted to love it here. I'd followed them on Facebook even before their opening and it seems like they are all a cool group of folks. I don't dispute that, but I have to keep it real and report, the food sucks. You must have to be tipsy to enjoy it. Harsh? Maybe. I'm just trying to tell the truth, folks. Believe the "bar" part of their name and don't think it's more of a grill. I guess I followed and believed their FB food posts. I can't comment on their bar amusement, so I won't ding them too much on the stars. They have a couple of pool tables and a stage, so the nightlife might be where it's at. The day I was there they were charging a $5 per person cover fee. I don't know if that's the norm or what, but that made it all the more disappointing when the food was less than mediocre. When I walked in, I sat at a table but no one ever came to wait on on us, so I moved up to the bar. We both ordered waters and was a bit surprised when someone from behind the bar said "nothing is good here". Uh, that was strange. But ended up ringing true. We should've took his word and just chalked up the entry fee as a loss. Now for the food... I ordered the loaded cheese fries and when they arrived, I was almost surprised that they were a bit small for the $8.99 price tag. But I didn't end up eating them all in the long run. The fries were soft and could've used a minute or two longer in the frier. The cheese and bacon bits were ok, so I ended up eating the ones from the top. My dining mate ordered the loaded nachos and at first glance we were both impressed. We both liked the homemade chips, but the serving of pork was fatty and bland. They too were not worth the $8.99 price tag. I do hope that my experience was a fluke, but I can't say they're the best option in Georgetown. I also don't think I'll go back.

It's new to Georgetown. About 1.5 months old. Went there for lunch. They had plenty of tv's to watch the game. A goo menu for a bar. Had the pretzels and beer cheese and they were awesome. Also had the hamburger and wife had the quesadilla and they both were great. Not to bad for first time. Also had 2 mixed drinks. They have a full stocked. Also the waitress was spot on, her name was Mary. Please ask for her

Awesome atmosphere. The staff is helpful and personable. We had the bourbon sriracha wings, quesadilla, and fresh pork rinds. The drinks were really good as well. Great dive bar to check out in Georgetown.

This is a great place to get a great meal, a cocktail, and leave satisfied. The place is so cool…read more Brick and iron at its best. The charm of old tables with mismatched chairs, even a bench made from an old bed headboard. The staff is great. Quick to answer questions and offer suggestions. The bar is huge. Bottles upon bottles. Then there is the food. Locally sourced and cooked to order. My mom ordered the catfish. It looked delicious and she ate every bite on the plate. My breakfast bowl was absolutely perfect! Potatoes roasted to perfection with awesome hot sausage with eggs cooked to order and covered in the best sausage gravy that I have ever had! Note: I love sausage gravy and have eaten it all over the country. Bravo to the chef! We will be back!

We started with the…read morecornbread with sorghum butter, and for entrees we got the vegetable plates so we could sample a little bit of everything. I had high hopes going in, and they were completely dashed. Let's start with what actually worked, because there were a few bright spots. The water was great. Our server was attentive and genuinely kind. The music and overall ambiance were lovely; it's clear a lot of thought went into the atmosphere. Unfortunately, that's where the good stuff ends. The cornbread was the first sign something was off. It was sour, like someone accidentally dumped vinegar into the batter, and it was thin, barely half an inch. The sorghum butter didn't taste anything like sorghum, and the quality was so poor I'd genuinely guess it was margarine. My partner ordered the hush puppies, which had clearly sat in the fryer too long; they were right on the edge of burnt. The mashed potatoes are marketed as "whipped," but what arrived was lumpy, skins and all. To be fair, the flavor itself wasn't bad. The mac and cheese was actually a highlight, smoky, well balanced, with a nice consistency. I'd recommend that one without hesitation. My farmers salad, though, was a mess: they dress it in house and way overdo it, plus they inexplicably loaded it with pepper. The cucumbers had a strange, off flavor that made them inedible. And then there were the greens, the biggest letdown of the whole meal. Sweet greens. Who serves sweet greens? It genuinely felt like the vinegar meant for the greens ended up in the cornbread instead, like the whole kitchen got its recipes crossed. I hate saying this part, but I have to be honest: the flies were unbearable. I spent more time swatting them away from my plate than actually enjoying my food, which is a hard thing to get past at any restaurant. Local Feed has real potential. The setting, the service, and the concept are all there. But the kitchen needs to seriously reassess these recipes and bring in someone who understands how to execute real Southern, farm-to-table cooking. I wanted this to be a great meal, and instead it was one disappointment after another.
