Stopped by here for breakfast on a weekday morning and it was relatively busy! They're a bit tucked away but there's plenty of parking. The restaurant has a nice, cozy diner feeling. The service was quick and friendly! I would recommend this as a breakfast spot to anyone. read more

Went on a breakfast date this morning and we ordered the chicken fried steak, with hash browns and eggs, along with the perfect breakfast (2 eggs, 2 pieces of bacon, and one pancake.) The steak was so hard it could have broken teeth, the hash browns were almost undercooked, and the syrup that came out for the pancakes was super runny and tasted like it was watered down to make it stretch. This place was on my list to try when I came to visit my family. Luckily a family member had already been there and said the food was good. We ordered : two Iced boozy coffee, orange juice, Verde chilaquiles, Cinnamon roll French toast, and Classic Benedict. All the food was good and good portions. Two of us had leftovers. The iced boozy coffee was missing a chocolate rim (although that is an assumption based on another Yelp photo). Only downside was it did take a long time for our order to come out. When we asked the server about our food, she stated the kitchen was backed up because the rush of people that came in at the same time (which I did notice but that was after we were seated and ordered). We ordered 10am and didn't get food until 10:45am. I think the order was put in late but who knows. Overall it was a good breakfast. Date:9/5/25 Time:11:30-11::45AM This is such a neat little restaurant. Good utilization of space with tables and booths. Moderately busy, but we were seated very quickly. We had a wonderful server who promptly took our drink and food orders. -I had the biscuits and gravy which comes with eggs and hash-browns -Wife had the Perfect Breakfast - 2 eggs, 2 sausage, and pancake. As fyi, you can choose sausage, bacon, or ham for meat and French toast or waffle instead of pancake. -Daughter had Cinnamon roll French toast Have to say the food was excellent. My eggs and hash browns were perfectly cooked. The biscuits and gravy were also really good. Even finished the small amount of cinnamon French toast my daughter couldn't eat (yes, I am a fatty LOL). It was out of this world good. The restaurant decor was a little mixed, but it works very nicely. Great job whoever set this up. Bathrooms were immaculate and well stocked. The manager or owner was very nice and greeted us upon arrival and when leaving. Everything about this place is top notch. If you are looking for a breakfast/brunch place in Meridian do yourself a favor and stop by this lovely restaurant. read more

I would give this place a five-star rating because our waitress was excellent. We are traveling with two small Yorkies. We're sitting on the patio, and nobody is even around. Unfortunately, my dog ran to the front door as two people were going in and greeted them with a pet. The manager came out and yelled at me and said You need to keep your dogs on the leash. This is understandable, but as a manager, you should have more respect, be kind, and not reprimand another grown adult. A simple "Can you please have your dogs on a leash?" would've worked. This cost this business a good $50-$100 because we planned to sit on that patio and drink for a good hour or so. And the poor waitress. All she wanted to do was make her daily quote in tips, and we were the only people in sight because it was us and two other people at that facility Unfortunately, I could not rate the food. The food was bad. Avocado that is not ripe but yet brown and bad. Oxidized and rotting. Melon that wasn't cut appropriately for service, eggs that were waxy and brown from contact with the rancid avocado. I know times are tough, but don't pass it on to the customer by serving bad food. Throw it out and eat the cost of not stocking your kitchen properly. And chef, have some self respect and pride. Are you too busy to cut the melon correctly? If I wanted to cut melon I would have stayed home. When we mentioned our dissatisfaction to the server she initially argued with us and said there is no way to know if an avocado is ripe. Our server was very sweet and was maybe the best part of our breakfast. We may have had to high of an expectation based on the amount of start they have. Great, quick lunch spot. I was a visitor but there was a group that had a regular table in the side room, so that in itself shows it's good. Service was awesome, 2 younger gals working were patient and attentive. I got an avo toast, which was unique. I got a side of the special pork, which I would recommend as the toast itself isn't very large or filling. Jalapeños were fresh and hot, but flavorful. On the outside it doesn't look great, but it's definitely worth stopping and enjoying. read more

Anastasia was our very attentive and efficient waitress; she was very engaging and answered all our questions. She brought my hot mocha to me, which contained a work of art on top in the foam. She explained how she had created the design, what a way to start off a meal..it made me smile I ordered eggs, hash browns and a homemade biscuit, which came with a side of homemade strawberry jam. Everything was hot and yummy, the eggs were cooked to perfection! The best part of the meal (besides the excellent service!) were the hash brown potatoes. I don't eat seed oils and have not been able to eat hash browns out in forever and a day. Tipsy Chef uses only tallow to cook in, and they were absolutely fabulous- crispy and brown on the outside, hot and cooked to perfection on the inside! Great job, Tipsy Chef... I went here to eat breakfast with a friend of mine. There are a lot of breakfast places around town, but I have yet to find one that really stood heads and shoulders about the rest. There is not much groundbreaking you can do with scrambled eggs, and the other components of breakfast. I read reviews of this place and had to give it a try and I'm glad I did. Anytime I see Chicken Fried Steak on a menu, it's the thing I gravitate towards because Im from Texas and love a good CFS. While the CFS is not Texas-style, it was still good. The steak had a nice crispy crust, and it was tender. The flavor was good, but it got lost in the crust, so I could not taste the meat. For a northern CFS, it was better than most I have tried. My only real complaint was that they used a brown gravy instead of a white flour gravy, like a traditional CFS. The steak was also overcooked and a little on the dry side, but this was probably due to the batter they used, which I wasn't able to identify positively but looked and tasted like it was Corn meal-based. The meal's star was the eggs, which tasted like eggs. Most eggs I have had, including the ones I have at home, don't taste of egg. This is probably due to the mass production and biotics and such that are used. I asked the waitress about this and she said they are sourced locally. These are by far the best scrambled eggs I have ever had with the exception of a place I once found that steamed them. I will return her to try other items on their menu which includes lunch. read more

Had an awesome brunch at the Tipsy Chef Cafe! Came in at 01:15 PM on New Year's Eve and was promptly seated. Seating is plentiful and the ambiance made me feel right at home. Had the Chicken Fried Steak and a Huckleberry Mule for my meal. Both were delicious and worth getting again. It was nice to see the staff address the regulars by name and treat them like family. Great experience overall and will be coming back with friends and family in the future! read more

We had heard that the corn beef dishes were amazing. So we decided to stop by for breakfast. I ordered the Irish Eggs Benedict and my husband ordered the Chicken Fried Steak. The flavors were definitely there and we did eat it all. I guess I was expecting better. The Chicken Fried Steak was over cooked and dry. The gravey was delicious and helped with the dryness. As for my Benedict. The poached eggs were hard boiled, there was more potatoes then corn beef and when I asked for extra Hollindaise sauce, it was brought to the table cold. This not a complaint, but more of a quality control headsup. Like I said, the flavors were there and we ate it all. The service was good. Maybe it was an off day and that happens. From the moment we got here, even though we had a reservation, there was ZERO wait (usually there is a minimal wait of 5 minutes while they prep the table they may have given away earlier). Our host/waitress (Christina) was MORE than accommodating. For example, our table was open and ready. She was prompt for drinks, and more than eager and happy to serve us. Then throughout brunch service, she perfectly attentive to serve and then some! Christina respectfully answered all questions that were asked, and is super relatable to the experience of dining as a patron. My family has eaten at the Tipsy Cafe twice in the last two weeks. Our first visit was pretty good. The chicken fried steak was homemade, but not much seasoning. Would suggest a lot of salt and pepper for the steak and the gravy. My wife didn't care for her omelette as the ham inside was deli style ham. My wife has to ask for a coffee refill and the other in our party wasn't even topped off. Awkward! Since the location is fairly convenient to home we thought we'd try it again. For the second visit it just wasn't great. The gravy on the chicken fried steak was cold. My daughter has the chicken and waffle and it came with one very small chicken breast. Kind of funny looking, sorry no picture there. My wife asked for creamer, and the waitress walked by several times and didn't bring it. She had to go up to the counter and ask. No refills offered on soda for the entire meal. There was a couple beside us who told the waitress their soup was cold and she said all I can do is heat it up in the microwave. Thought that was about par for the experience at the restaurant from what we have experienced. All in all this restaurant has potential to be good but is just inconsistent. They also need to spend a little more time with their waiters/waitresses. read more

Just ate at the tipsy chef cafe today for the 1st and last time. The atmosphere felt dated and cold. I ordered an omelet that looked like an overcooked crepe. I used to love this place for their clean, thoughtful approach--no seed oils, tallow instead of canola, and pork-free meats like corned beef. I even sponsored them by putting my company's logo on their tables. Sadly, they've changed. On my last visit, they said the grill options were only canola or pork lard, which we can't eat. They also serve tap water, not filtered, and if you order hot food to go, it comes in styrofoam that melts into the food--toxic and inedible. Service was poor on Monday the 23rd in the morning too. I'd happily pay more for clean options like tallow or butter, but until they return, I can't recommend this place anymore. We tried this place out with a half price Fridays gift certificate, which I almost didn't purchase because most breakfast places have been disappointing lately for the quality/quantity you get for the ever-increasing prices. I am so glad I did! The food was wonderful, served hot, and generous portions. Very much worth the menu price. They also have a kids menu with meals ranging from about $6-$8. We ordered the chicken fried steak (a favorite of mine and this one was perfect), blueberry pancakes (full of blueberries and so good), chilaquiles (fresh and flavorful with mild spice), and the kids French toast (thick and crisp).
