Tipsy Beans Cafe offers interesting (in a good way) drinks and carefully conceived pub food. I went recently with three friends for a Thursday lunch, and we all really enjoyed our meals. I had the burger on a brioche bun with fries. The burger was moist and the portion was just the right size. We also ordered the chicken tacos (came with three soft shell tacos and a side of saffron rice), the arugula prosciutto flatbread (pre-sliced for easier handling), and the tuna nachos (topped with beautifully bright guacamole). All were excellent! They also serve their breakfast menu all day. You can order drinks from a wide selection of cocktails and coffee that are like cocktails -- à la the name Tipsy Beans. Yes, they also have nonalcoholic drinks too. We enjoyed their refreshing iced tea with lemon. The dining area is enclosed in glass, so the light streams in making it a cheerful place. It can get somewhat loud, but that's just other enthusiastic diners. It's not large, and if it's full, you can put your name on a waiting list. They open in the morning and close at 6 pm. Went here for brunch with a friend and it was a pretty good experience. The cafe in my opinion is a little small for the crowd it brings in but besides that, it looks decent on the inside. The staff are very friendly also. I ordered the red velvet chicken and waffles (8/10) and sausage patties on the side. My friend ordered the french toast (10/10) with bacon and eggs on the side. Overall the food was good, I probably won't order the red velvet waffle again because the flavor was too much for me so I'll be trying one of the other waffle flavors next time. We came at 11:30 on a Tuesday and we were hoping to sit in the patio. After a 20 minute wait we got our patio spot. There's only 4 patio tables at the time of this review so if outdoor dining is your thing, get here early. There's not a lot of indoor seating and the lack of acoustics can cause the restaurant to get loud. We both ordered lattes, the grasshopper and chai. Both were very delicious. Our server, Kelley, made some great suggestions. I had the shrimp tacos and my partner had the club. Both were well seasoned and very flavorful. The tacos had a bit of a bite and spice to them, and the club was packed full of delicious quality turkey. The fries were hot and fried to perfection. If you're looking for a spot with great prices, this is the place for you. Their drinks here are wonderfully priced. I came here to cowork with my friend. The space feels more like a restaurant vibe than a coffee shop vibe, so it felt a bit strange to work here, but they had wifi so I don't think it was an issue. We came about an hour before they closed. I ordered their ginger lemon tea. Their medium size was very generous. My friend got one of their lattes and loved it. Maybe because it was close to closing, but they gave us our check very fast which felt a little awkward. We knew they were closing soon, but it felt like they gave it immediately after we ordered/didn't ask for the check. Besides that, the server we had was pretty kind. We stopped by this place for lunch on our way leaving Williamsburg. It is located in an area infused with other restaurants and a local movie theater with ample parking. Walking in, we were seated pretty quickly and our waiter, David, was very welcoming and spoke very highly of the place. Off his recommendation, I got the crabcake sandwich with fries for $15. The crabcake was made in house and you could really taste the freshness and it was complimented with a brioche bun. My wife got the Asian chicken salad which the portion was generous and she enjoyed it. My son got the smoke brisket sweet potato hash with egg and the brisket was quite tender and definitely thumbs up from him. My wife got a lavender chai latte drink which sealed the deal as well. I've been to Tipsy Beans a few times and whenever I order anything other than the chicken and waffles I wish I had ordered the chicken and waffles. I did like the avocado toast, but there was very little avocado on the toast so I probably wouldn't get it again. The servers were very busy but really nice and never kept us waiting. If you're in the area, Tipsy Beans Cafe is a must visit. They're located a little further back off the road, so it is quieter. They have outside and inside seating. Please note that it is a smaller place, but they run it efficiently. If you don't want to stay, you can order to go. We ordered the mud turtle coffee (caramel and chocolate flavors) and a pina colada smoothie. The smoothie was on the thicker side, and they were delicious. Drinks seem to be served mainly in to go containers, which worked well for us because we were able to finish our meals and leave with our leftover drinks. For food, we got the brisket & sweet hash and tipsy's breakfast sampler. The food was also great and came out quickly. We were pleasantly surprised because we thought this cafe would be strong in drinks, but not in food. They're strong in both. This place was amazing! The wait was a little bit long but it was definitely worth it! Plus they are adding more space so that should be less of a problem in the future. The service was great. Everyone I interacted with was kind and helpful. The owner is heavily involved. He was bussing tables, bringing out food, interacting with patrons. You can tell this is his passion and he's proud of what he created and it shows up in the quality of the food and the experience. So, the Grubbing Gurus tried out a new eatery, at least, it was new to us. Located in Williamsburg, Va., the Tipsy Bean Café is a tiny but charming restaurant that packs a big punch when it comes to food flavors. Their food is cooked extremely well and is presented in an inviting atmosphere. My Grubbing Buddy and I arrived too early to the restaurant, so we had to wait outdoors for our other buddies to arrive. What we saw were lines and lines of guests waiting to get in. The place is small with not many tables, and there is a place where folks can sit and eat at the bar, if no tables are available. Many of the visiting guests were just happy ordering a drip coffee and grabbing a danish from the hostess at the front door. When our group arrived, we were quickly seated and began ordering our food right away. Two coffees, a Bloody Mary and my espresso martini were ordered. We next placed our food order, which came right away. There were so many great choices on the menu that I couldn't decide where to start. I eventually selected the meat lover's omelet, while the rest of us ordered the crab cake eggs benedict and the Tipsy's Classic. By the looks on everyone's face while eating and afterward, they all seemed pleased. Our waitress was both pleasant and attentive, and the décor was simple yet inviting. We were greeted by the restaurant owner who happened to mention they were planning to expand nearby and add live music. Tipsy Beans Cafe (TBC) is a great spot in Wburg! Located in a business center, I went there to meet a friend for coffee a while back and it was just the perfect spot to chat and catch up. I arrived pretty early in the morning (or what I consider as early as can be coming from Chesapeake) and the place was pretty busy the whole time I was there. It seemed to be THE spot to be! TBC is has a full service bar, an extensive coffee menu and entrees for breakfast and lunch. Service was friendly and attentive. - Noms - Chocolate Orange Latte - LOVED this latte! Classic combo of chocolate and orange and it just pleased my palette! Topped with whipped cream and chocolate syrup drizzled on top. Crumb Cake - It has a rigid top so I was afraid it might have been stale, but I was wrong. It was soft in the middle and just the right thing treat to eat while sipping on my chocolate orange latte. Their fries are delicious and homemade ranch was creamy and light. I opted for a boozey French toast latte (served hot) and I highly recommend it. The raspberry cream soda lacked a little flavor for my liking, I felt it needed more cream and raspberry. I ordered the sweet and sour brisket tacos and to my surprise the brisket was shredded rather than sliced and was reminiscent of birria (without the consume) The brisket hash was tasty but needed a little sauce and a little crunch. I stopped here on my way home from Bush Garden and despite the incredibly busy crowd; the staff was able to seat & serve us in a timely manner. Not only does the menu offer a wide selection of options which makes it difficult to choose just one thing, the food arrived incredibly fast - and hot! I got the brisket and sweet potato hash (picked below) and the pork had exquisite blend of heat and sweet, which carried over to the sweet potatoes. I sat at the bar and our waitress (Jesse?) was also impressively working the bar in front of us. She was efficient and even when I clumsy knocked my water on to me -- was quick to clean up and accommodate. Strangely enough; the acoustics of this little place is in a way that even when it's loud - you can still hear whoever you came with! This little cozy cafe is one of my favorite spots. The food, cocktails and coffee are amazing. And you can take the cocktails or tipsy coffee to go. It was pretty busy both times I visited, but the staff were super kind and on top of things, and the wait was surprisingly short. This is one of the best brunch spots in Williamsburg. They have an extensive menu of lattes and other drinks. Everything is reasonably priced. Seating can get a bit tricky when they're busy. I enjoyed most of the dishes I tried here but it seemed like each dish was made differently depending on who was working in the kitchen that day. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I ordered the same dish on two different visits and it tasted much different on the second visit. I don't live in Williamsburg anymore but I'll probably give Tipsy Beans another shot when I visit. read more

This is the shrimp and grits. I read the description and it said shrimp, grits, peppers onions, and andouille sausage. I got shrimp, gravy, and grits that had tiny little balls in them. The texture was not pleasant, nor was the taste. The shrimp was blacken and that should have been stated. Service was good. The lattes were delicious. Just disappointed in my meal. My daughter had stuffed French toast and said it was fine. It also was not like the description stated. There was a lot of staff complaining about customers which was unpleasant as well.
