    Catfish platter $15
    Jazz T.

4 stars because it's a cluster, no reservations, doesn't pick up the phone, the wait times are ridiculous & not enough space for parties waiting. IT'S SMALL I tried to call in my order but I got the voicemail almost every single time. Finally, after calling about 10 times I got through and placed my order. They told me the wait was going to be about 15. It was about a 10 min drive and when I got there, I still had to wait. There wasn't space for me to wait so people thought that I was waiting in line each time they walked in. It's super busy, but super small. I waited in the restaurant for my order for maybe an extra 20 mins. So, the wait time was 15 but I waited about 30 mins total. I ordered the catfish platter with fries. They definitely seasoned the catfish and fried it hard. The fries were thick cut and seasoned, but they weren't fried long enough. 3 fish platters cost $50. I would try this place again, but maybe a lot earlier in the day. Because this place is very inconvenient.

I am so glad I went here this morning! Best breakfast, great cocktails, boozy coffee, amazing staff, interesting menu, clean and crisp dining area! I just felt like needed to lay out the highlights right away. So much of this place made me smile and happy. I got a Bloody Mary well maybe two, alright three geese. Jess my serve was on top of her game, beautiful, sweet, and foresight full. For my entree I was served crab cake egg Benedict! Sooo amazing. I did get a side of bacon but to my surprise I was so full from the eggs Benedict I couldn't finish the bacon!? I unfortunately did not try the boozy coffee but I will next time definitely. Don't miss out on this wonderful Williamsburg gem!

Absolutely love this cafe in Williamsburg. The food is always so good. I had the catfish & cornbread that was a special for the day. My favorite was the apple cider mimosa.

Wow if the crowd and the wait are indications of how great the food is, then might as well give a 5 star without ordering, It also helps they were recognized for 2024 Coastal VA choice. Located in a shopping complex with just steps from the Movie Tavern. This location is accessible with ample parking. Seating is available inside, on patio and at the bar. Even for a person walk-in, the wait is more than 20 minutes at 12noon on a Saturday. You heck in and your name and number are taken so they can call you when seating is available. I finally got seated at the bar. Noticed that they not only spray/clean the counter but also the bar stool - kudos! Jessie at the bar was friendly and personable. Lots of cocktail and coffee offerings! Everyone seems to belong to a happy team, interchangeably having each other's backs from calling the waitlist, to bartending, to making coffee. I ordered the Morning After Burger. It was a toss up between that or shrimp and grits, both were marked as favorites. I was able to substitute French fries with fruits, no issue. The burger was delicious. Definitely worth the long drive from VA Beach! Oh, I ordered the tower carrot cake and it was good!

When in Williamsburg you need to stop in! Nicely decorated small and cozy. They have an extensive selection of lattes and Coffees and they have a full bar with signature cocktails and shooters, snd by the way the huge list of lattes can come with liquor to give it a punch! So good! I had a bacon egg and cheese sandwich on an everything bagel. Simple but was so delicious. The bacon was the surprise. Cooked to perfection. Avocado toast has lemon juice chili flakes with 2 fried eggs amazing. My one suggestion is if you get there early it's a very popular spot as it can get very busy and now you now why.

Deceivingly small establishment from the looks of the outside. Sat at the bar due to the wait. Too cold to sit outside. If you have a a large party this place is not ideal. Name plays off the selection of coffees and alcohol. I tried the almond joy latte which tasted just like the name but I'm not sure if I loved the coconut flakes in it. Ordered crab cake burger which was okay. Being picky ... the tomato slice was very small and thick cut. And the lettuce ... well you see the picture. My friend ordered the deviled eggs. Not impressed with that either. The filling was very runny and looked like they rushed the order. She also ordered the fresh pork rinds. Also subpar for being fresh. Some were so crunchy it was uncomfortable to chew. The staff were all VERY friendly. Possibly return for a drink but maybe not the food.

Stepped into this little cafe on a weekday morning and was immediately blown away by the upbeat atmosphere and friendly, attentive service. I ordered shrimp and grits for breakfast and it was everything I had hoped it would be and more. Grilled shrimp, a delicious Andouille sausage gravy, and perfect, creamy grits. Fair prices too!

This place is hopping!! We stopped in to kill some time before our Neverland Escape room adventure.. We ordered the Peanut Butter Puddle, the Funky Monkey, and the White Chocolate raspberry lattes. Service was slow but friendly because it was crowded but we had some time to burn.. It was chilly inside even with my coat and sweater on. Nice place to stop by!!

Sunday morning my wife, son and I went here around 10 am. We had to wait about 40 minutes to get a table. Not much space inside so we were sat outside and said it would probably be an additional 25 minutes to get sat inside. As for the food there's no kids menu so my 6 year old got the cat fish breakfast which came with eggs added cheese, toast, and stone ground grits. Grits have a great texture but need salt and pepper. Maybe they don't add anything because some people like sweet and some savory. My wife had the meat lovers omelette, added spinach and mushrooms. Also came with home fries and toast. She enjoyed it, but I like my home fries crispy and she likes her more soft so they were perfect for her. I had the chicken and waffles, chicken was well seasoned and juicy. I ordered the seasonal lemon waffle which was the highlight of the meal for me. I wish it came with an additional side of eggs or grits but nonetheless I ended up ordering a side of grits which again needed salt and pepper. For drinks I got an espresso martini, could have been stronger but it was ok. My wife got the butterscotch latte with almond milk, she thought it was just ok as well. Overall the bill was about 87 we tipped 20% so we spent a little over 100$. A good experience. I think if you live in Williamsburg it's a nice place to go. Judging just by the food it was really good.

HIDDEN GEM ::: Place so nice we had to visit twice! Prior to visiting Williamsburg, Virginia, I went on to Yelp! to bookmark a few places for us to eat during our vacation since I've visited Williamsburg a plethora of times in my lifetime and all they seemed to have was a bunch of Pancake Houses which close early and Commercial Restaurants which stay open late. I wanted to be sure I was overly prepared with an arsenal of restaurants for us to choose from which did not fit the pancake house and commercial restaurant mold. So glad Yelp! led me to Tipsy Beans Cafe! It was about a three minute drive from our hotel AND THEE BEST bite during our week long stay in Williamsburg. Tipsy Beans Cafe is quaint BUT mighty! They have a small indoor area with about 10 four top tables and some bar seating. They have an additional maybe 5 four top tables outside. They offer a vast menu of food and drinks and the entire menu is served ALL DAY-that's the breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks, and dessert-ALL DAY! They also have Happy Hour DAILY! Do you hear me, that's daily 3p-6p SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS INCLUDED! Oh, and not sure who had the aux and whose playlist that is playing in the background but baby I need them to AirDrop me the playlist STAT! Y'all can thank me later! Again, so nice we had to visit them twice! All food is made to order and made with love-you can tell who's working in that kitchen baby! Again, thank me later! Our first visit was a Saturday morning for breakfast and our second visit a Sunday afternoon for a snack/happy hour prior to going to see a movie. On our first visit, we had chicken and waffles, shrimp n grits, sweet tea, and chocolate milk. Them tenders that accompanied the chicken and soft pillowy waffles, chefs kiss, seasoned to perfection-you will see in my pics. Sweet Tea, was perfect for me! Shrimp n grits-shrimp PERFECTLY cooked and seasoned. This bowl of grits was unnecessarily huge to me because it led to the shrimp/grit ratio being off but tasty nonetheless. Our second visit, my son had the Sweet n Spicy brisket tacos which he demolished alongside the Rocket Pop Mocktail which others in the restaurant began ordering after seeing them bring it out to my son. We also had the garlic parm wings which came with a side of seasoned fries. While the wings had a great taste and an amazing ranch on the side, I hated that the wings were breaded then fried. It was not what I was expecting nor wanting so I was thrown off by it, but made the best of it. The glass of Riesling I had was also refreshing. My mouth is watering writing this review. So much so, we may have to visit for a third time today before we head back to Baltimore tomorrow. You're welcome! Cheers to a great time!

We loved stopping for breakfast every time we are in town. The food is always great- cooked great to perfection. The service is great. The extensive coffee menu is a caffeine lovers dream.

This is a cute little cafe and a great find. The coffee is what caught my attention on Yelp. They have so many fancy flavors and syrups to chose from. They also have a full menu of delicious meals including breakfast and lunch entrees. My BLTA was so good!! My mom got the club sandwich. Both were delicious.

While we can't promise *you* won't have a similar experience, we can say that in this case the executive chef personally responded promptly to a respectful polite email and then handled it all very appropriately once informed. And for that alone, we revise to 4 stars. Perhaps ours was an isolated incident. Regardless, a big thank you to the executive chef for the response and swift refund. Much appreciated. We *think* any executive chef would want to KNOW what was going on, perhaps in their absence, right? YMMV. Thanks again. ORIGINAL 1 star review: New Years Eve dinner at Terrace Room. The photo shows "pan-seared" scallops with a ... risotto-like substance. Heh. $50. Uh huh. Scallops: No sear. Super chewy. Hard to even cut. Risotto was like mushy oatmeal stuff and zero seasoning or flavor. Maybe something was wrong in the kitchen, I dunno. Ack. We both ordered this and left most of it. Also a bottle of wine (white) that had to be chilled in front of us for a while before the server could/would pour it. Hm. $110 for that. Note: the *service* was excellent! It is never a waiter's "fault" when the food is awful. We tipped the excellent waiter accordingly, BTW. Just sharing our experience at this place on this particular night. Hope it helps. Be aware. We have not not dined, or even spent much time at CW since the pandemic. After a hike behind Bassett Hall my wife and I enjoyed lunch. We arrived at noon and were promptly seated in an empty room. Around 20 minutes later the first floor was full. The atmosphere was cool and authentic. Nothing has changed since my previous visit. Our friendly waitress got menus and waters. I started off with an Apple Jack Old Fashioned utilizing Virginia Gentleman bourbon. We reviewed items on the menu that may have been served in the period. We started with apps. I got a salad, or "To Make a Fine Sallet". My wife crab croquettes. They pushed out first and we enjoyed. For mains. I got the pork shank, or "To Stew a Shoat in the French Way". My wife had "Chicken Hash", it was like a thick soup. The plating was beautiful and the taste matched. The old fashioned was disappointing because it was so weak. Service was decent, but not much attention. For dessert I got the bread pudding and wife chocolate tart. Both were outstanding! The bill was dropped on the table. It was around $150 w/ tip. Although pricey we had fun and felt like tourist just an hour from home. I would recommend.

I came here with my parents and girlfriend as a way to cap a nice day of introducing her to them and I was unpleasantly surprised by the visit. Despite the fact that you cannot park in front of the establishment , there was very little signage in the back to route you to where you needed to be to reach the host stand. Once we got there, there was some awkward interaction from the hostess to get us seated, and we reviewed our menus. We all opted for the peanut soup ($10 each) as an appetizer, and my girlfriend and I opted for the Roast Duck ($50 each) and my parents both opted for the Salmon with crab on top ($59 each). While the peanut soup was excellent (and available elsewhere), the roast duck was flavorless, the accompanying vegetables cold, and the mashed potatoes were not enough to save the entree. The "free" Sally Lunn bread and cornbread were quite nice, though again not enough to save the meal, nor was the bread pudding. My parents told me they liked the salmon meals but without sampling it I have to take their word for it. I risk seeming ignorant here so to be clear: I have enjoyed a number of elevated meals where the high prices were entirely justified by the quality of food, level of service, and upscale atmosphere. King's Arms failed in every respect: the food was middling at best, the service was okay but failed to make enough callbacks to avoid running out of water, and the ambiance was spoiled by a large party with eight children they decided to seat in the middle of the room, thereby ensuring a loud distraction for everyone. While this was indeed an interesting experience from a historical perspective, it is utterly unfit to charge the prices it does and I strongly recommend against coming here. The extra star is for the soup, definitely seek out the peanut soup (but do it somewhere else). Overall: 2.0 stars ---- Pros: - The peanut soup is excellent, as is the Sally Lunn bread - The historical experience of dining where those in antiquity have is quite cool. Cons: - By fine dining standards, the rest of the fare here is laughably bad. - The service is decent but nowhere near where it should be given the airs they put on. - Prices are exorbitant and horrifying to anyone with an eye for value. - Directions and parking are an additional pain point. - If you know you have a large party of children, plan seating accordingly. This is an awful way to ruin the experience of everyone else who is paying a lot to be here.
