1 hard taco "grilled chicken" 2 soft tacos "grilled chicken"

I'm not really sure if you would call this grilled chicken, but there's not a sear in sight on this chicken once I arrived to my house which was literally a three minute walk across the street. My food was cold. I should have known when no one was actually in the restaurant except two guest there was going to be an issue. Overall not good tacos at all. The salsa they give you on side taste like the salsa that comes out of a grocery store bought pack taco kit. I took 3 bites of the hard taco and it was enough for me. Until I convinced myself to take a couple bites of the soft taco and the taco was not warm at all the protein, was not warm all the veggies and toppings that should be on top were at the bottom except for cheese with lukewarm protein on top.

After a very exhausting long day, we were craving Tippy's Tacos! We ordered (2) Ground Beef Hard Taco Platter, (1) Chicken Enchilada Platter, (1) Chicken Burrito Platter and (2) Ground Beef Soft Taco Platter. Everything that we ordered looked, smelled mouth watering! With just one bite, we were hooked on the absolute flavors and textures of the food items that we ordered! Thanks so much Tippy's Tacos for everything! Can't wait to come back for more!

4 meat tacos and nachos

The owner is extremely friendly! I always order the 4 meat tacos and nachos. They always have birch beer which is so tasty! I really like how the meat is seasoned and how gracious the portions are. I have been going to Tippy's Taco House for decades, so this review is way past overdue. I highly recommend this place for the delicious tacos and nachos, and the really nice family owned vibe it has. This is a must visit restaurant!

Where to begin...well this is not your typical Mexican restaurant. Tippy's plays an extensive ol' skool country music selection, at no time did a Tejano, Norteño or even Baby Bash. My nachos were tortilla chips sprinkled with shredded cheese and popped in the microwave, but the sour cream was pretty good. The tacos needed a bit more meat to fill the shell. Now the chicken quesadilla had chicken which appeared to be cut small enough for a salad. The onions were cut larger than the chicken. I can't even recall what the other dish was that I ordered. I can't say that there will be a return for me, but if you have a few dollars and feel adventurous Tippy's is for you.

This is a basic normal clean consistent restaurant that the people at the Washington DC wharf need to take a look at. The owner success stems to his attention to detail and care he give his food is outstanding, nothing more nothing less. There are not giant torches out front, the decor is comfortable and decent music playing so you can talk. There is a great selection of beer and Pepsi and jarritos sodas. I was able to get more food that tasted fresher than at this super expensive fancy monstrosity that is located at the wharf in DC

Our server was quick, friendly, and kept things moving without making us feel rushed. They actually have a true happy hour menu. Not one of those "$1 off" situations, but legit deals across both food and drinks. Everything we ordered hit. The margaritas were refreshing, well-balanced (not overly sweet), and definitely did the job. For food, we kept it classic. The tacos were simple but flavorful, with tender, well-seasoned meat and fresh toppings that didn't overpower anything. The nachos were good but in my opinion, the portion size wasn't worth $11. Everything tasted fresh and came out hot, which I always appreciate, especially during a busy service. The vibe outside really pulled it all together. It's one of those spots that feels lively without being chaotic...perfect for catching up, people-watching, or just unwinding after a long day. You can tell it's a go-to neighborhood spot for a reason. I'd definitely come back--especially for another round of margaritas and to try more of the menu.

The background noise is pretty high. That said, I'm challenged in writing a glowing review. Last two times that I have went there (most recently last weekend) the food was underwhelming. I've not ever had fajitas where green peppers weren't included in the dish, except this last visit. To the waiter's credit, he pointed out that they were not included on the menu; I am still surprised. If you are planning to eat at this restaurant at peak dinner time, have a reservation because that's the only way you're getting a booth

They emphasized fajitas as being a featured item on their extensive menu, and reviews seemed quite positive, so hey...why not give it a try? We arrived around 4 and sat at the bar. We were the only customers at the time which seemed a little odd since it was a Friday and a very pleasant day outside. We were greeted by the bartender/server and given complimentary chips and salsa, both of which were quite nice. We also had basic salted rim jalapeno margaritas, which were ok. Not bad, not outstanding, they were poured out of a large plastic jug. We then opted to split the steak and shrimp fajitas with the usual accompaniment of guacamole, sour cream, cheese, tomatoes, refried beans and rice. For $28.99, this was a huge disappointment. 3 shrimp and 5 strips of thin beef with fried onions and a few peppers. The shrimp was actually tasty and very well seasoned but 3 shrimp? Please. The steak was difficult to evaluate since the pieces were so tiny. The refried beans, rice etc were fine, but the dish was overall a total disappointment and a terrible value for the price. There was only one other party of people that came in during the entire time we were at the restaurant which I feel is telling. With so many other Tex Mex options in the DMV, I would not consider returning to Dos Hermanos again.
