After 15 years, I decided to get acrylics again. My daughter goes to Han and SWORE by his skills - he did not disappoint!! What a talented nail artist! It's a bonus that he is also an incredible human and so fun to talk to! I made an appointment, but while I was there, a nail tech that was on her way out stayed to take a walk in! They go above and beyond! I HIGHLY recommend for all your nail needs and a BIG thanks to Han for doing the exact french tips I wanted so beautifully.

After having the pedicure here -- infected big toenail

It was my 1st time, so I made an appointment with Han the day before the service. I arrived on time but waited for 30 minutes. She was busy with other customers, one after another, despite my earlier appointment. There was no explanation, and my nails were eventually done by two seniors. I did not feel welcomed, and the time management was disappointing.

The service exceeded my expectations i got a manicure and pedicure Anne did a great job and sadly i didn't get the name of the techs who did my full set but they all did such an amazing job i live 30 minutes away but would definitely be going back again soon!

Highly recommend this place.. The second I walked in everyone was so welcoming, wait time was under 20 minutes for a walk in.. Mary did my pedicure, she took her time and did a great job.. I highly recommend her, she is so sweet and friendly.. by the end of my pedicure, she gave me a hug which goes to show how genuine and sincere she truly is.. definitely going back

I love coming here because of Jenny. She is soooo good. Helped me take care of an ingrown nail on my toe and I haven't been able to go see anyone else since. She is so detail oriented and always does a good job. She always helps me find the perfect colors too!

Was excited to try this place out due to the reviews. The lady who I was with did a great job at trying to accommodate my requests. At first I wanted a black chrome that I saw on pinterest. When the black polish was laid and the white chrome was put on top it turned out to be like a metal grey color. So we changed it and I opted to go with this glitter gel over my acrylic. I wasn't too happy about the shape and lack of sharp corners. Yes I wanted a short coffin but I think these are too short and therefore have lost their shape. As seen on my right hand, she flied it way to low on the side and it looks funny. I tipped over 25% because of my lack of knowledge that Pinterest pictures aren't always going to turn out the way I wanted. I'll probably try them again in the future.

I honestly had high hopes for this place based on the reviews and how nice the salon looked. I called ahead and made an appointment for a manicure and pedicure. The older lady was the one who did both my mani and pedi. Pedicure was alright. Not the most relaxing as she kept putting pressure on my knee bone in a painful way during the massage. She did not communicate when she was done and abruptly put my sandals back on my feet. I wasn't aware/prepared for this and my big toe got smudged at the tip. I didn't see this until I left the salon because she rushed me to the manicure area as soon as she put my sandals on. The manicure was so much worse. I showed her my inspiration picture which was a light blue chrome. I spent a lot of time trying to find the right shade but then she strongly suggested a completely different color than what I originally wanted. She was very insistent that that color would match my inspiration picture. I was still optimistic about this place so I decided to just trust the process, especially since she was so sure that it would be the right color. When she started working on my hands, she was very quick and aggressive with how she was using the cuticle and nail clippers. She cut my nails way too close on the sides and left my nails looking and feeling way worse than before the service. I have never felt so much pain after a manicure. Multiple fingers feel like they were chopped off on the sides. It hurts and stings to touch anything or to do anything with my hands. This pain has made me very irritable on my current trip and I keep feeling pissed off that I paid $100 + tip to feel this way. I wish I saw the other reviews with her because it seems like this has happened with other clients as well. tl;dr: worst manicure experience because older lady was careless and caused pain from cutting too much skin and nails on the sides.

I was very lucky to have called in ahead of time on a Friday (during a holiday weekend at that) and have Steven squeeze me into his schedule! I throughly enjoyed my experience at Tip'nToe because Steven is hilarious but also very knowledgeable. He really cares about his clientele and goes above and beyond for them. I called the day of as soon as they opened and was able to get an appt at the time I wanted, so that was good. The space was clean, chairs were comfortable, and the staff seemed nice. They had a really great selection of regular and gel polishes and a fantastic amount of dip powders. My main complaint is that my nails look like they have been growing out for a week already and this picture was taken the day of. More care should have gone into my cuticles, and the acrylic should cover my whole nail, not look like they are already grown out. read more

I've finally found the PERFECT MANICURE!! For anyone that gets their nails done in the 831: I've been getting gel manicures for years, and I have NEVER had anyone do as good a job as Steven at Tip N Toe on Lighthouse in New Monterey. He really went the extra mile to get ALL my cuticles off, which is so important to me. Most places gently push them down then paint over them, and by the next day it looks like my nails have been growing out for a week. It was only $25 for him to remove my old gel and do a full manicure. I highly suggest checking them out!! read more

So I wanted to love this place I waited till spring break to come try it out with my mom and I made a reservation about 30-40 mins in advanced just because I saw the one review about its better to make an apt, so I came with my mom and she got seen immediately! me on the other hand I had to wait about 30 mins for his wife to show up as my feet soaked in cold water, the massage chairs are nice and it's really clean but she did a bad job maybe it was because she had to rush down here and was upset about it but as you can see in the photos my cuticles are horrible! And the paint job is so patchy I can see bare spots on my nails where she didn't put enough polish and by the way I had this done Wednesday and they already have cracks and imperfection AND APPARENTLY I PAID FOR THE MORE EXPENSIVE NAIL POLISH which is an extra 3$ and she didn't even tell me! I'm upset I paid an extra 3$ for nail polish only on my hands if I would've known I would've got that color on my feet too! so I'm extremely upset this is what that 3$ extra got me for stupid nail polish that still looks like crap She didn't take her time because as I said my mom was already ahead by at least 30-40 mins and the lady rushed it so I was done at the same time my mom was and that's not right. My toes look good btw I mean you can't really mess up toes tbh. So to recap I made an apt I came at the time he said I had to wait at least 30 mins for his wife to show up and they didn't offer any discount or compensation for the wait even tho he okayed and apt she rushed so fast she caught up with my moms pedicure/ manicure and did a horrible job on my feet exfoliating wise but good job polish wise and on my hand horrible cuticle job and HORRIBLE paint job where it is chipping and dents and thin polish after just 2 days of getting my nails done and didn't tell me I had to pay 3$ more for the polish I wanted " there's no signs saying that one polish is more than anther they are all together MISLEADING " My moms pedicure and manicure by the way was nice!! The guy took his time and told my mom that's the more expensive nail polish and did a great job and hers isn't even chipping and there's no bare spots!! Or thin polish I really really wanted to love this place!!!! because of how nice it looks! It's so pretty, but I can't go back if this is what 43$ " not including tip " looks like, my mom would gives hers 5 stars so I suggest getting the guy! He does a good job read more

Wow! Don't know where to bring. Such a nice and clean place inside. Steven, the owner, was super nice. He offered us some wine and snacks when we first entered. I have gotten many pedicures form local places and he gave the best by far! You must break way from your regular place to try this place. I promise you won't go anywhere else after. Top quality products and techniques for sure. read more

I got a nail infection from the acrylics I got here. I had to go to the Doctor's because it was swollen and green. I called the salon to fully let them know. Instead the store manager asked to go in, so he can take a look at my finger nail. I went in, he explained that the acrylics weren't the reason. He said that water went inside my nail or that I had probably removed a cuticle and it probably caused my infection. I always get full set and this has never happen to me in the past. This is the first time I come here and the last time I'm coming here. I didn't ask for a refund or didn't make a scene about my problem. I just wanted to let the owner know since I did have to get a mini surgical procedure. He seemed defensive instead when I told him about the nail infection. I also didn't like how he was talking to a customer about my issue and putting the blame on me while I was getting my acrylics removed. I normally don't write reviews but I just thought it was unprofessional. He was the same guy who worked on my nails but in the middle of the process stopped and had another employee finish my nails. My friend and I were unsatisfied with the visit here. read more

Broke my nail literally in the middle. Ouch! Both Steven and his wife have been so helpful and have repaired it now 3 times (finally had to just do acrylic to keep it from further breakage, as it had made its way almost across the entire width of my nail) they have been so understanding and kind and took extra care to the nail because they knew it was tender. I absolutely love this salon!!! read more

This is definitely a nail place you should try out. It's new, clean, and inviting. I went in to get my acrylic nails filled and couldn't be more happier with the result. The technician (Steven? I think) did a great job. He is very skilled and didn't knick the sides of my fingers once, which is rare in my experience! A fill with gel nail polish cost $30 without tip, which is not bad in my opinion. read more

I've tried this place twice. Heard such good things from local peeps. Nice and clean. Owners seem very nice. Unfortunately both times I have a pedicure, my toes got cut while filing. Yes to the point of bleeding and painful. Needless to say I'm a bit shy to head back there anytime soon. read more

I am SO disappointed. This looks like such an incredible salon. My baby shower is tomorrow so I wanted something fun on my nails. I went in and showed a picture of blue ombré to the girl at the front. She said they could do it no problem. When I sat to get my nails done I showed the lady the picture and asked if it was possible to do the ombré. If not, I had other ideas in mind. She started working on my nails and did white at the tips. I said that I didn't think that's how she was in the picture so she scraped it off. I put the picture in front of her so she could look at it as she worked. As she was doing it I kept saying I don't think it looks right and that maybe we should do something else. But she said when she did the glitter and the top coat it would look ok. She also cut me while filing which I get happens, but still is so painful. I should've trusted my gut and not paid $55 for something I was unhappy with. I just wanted to leave as fast as possible. I was supposed to get a pedicure too but I went to another salon instead to get my nails fixed. Not ombré at all. At 7 months pregnant this was not the relaxing pampering session I had hoped for. read more

Steven and Amy take such good care of me! Whether it's my lashes, manicure or pedicure it's always perfect when I leave, lasts for at rest two weeks, and they are efficient! I recommend appointments because they frequently book up for the day quickly, but they work had to get all walk-ins taken care of. Prices are reasonable and they are both very nice and fun. Can't recommend this place enough! read more

I come here every three weeks for an acrylic fill with gel polish and consistently pleased every time! Steven is very attentive and always remembers my name. My nails always look wonderful for weeks afterwards even though I am very hard on them. I have also immediately left before and broken a nail within hours and returned to get the mail repaired at no extra cost. It took me a long time to find a nail salon in Monterey that I had good experiences with and this is by far my favorite. Thank you Steven! read more

This place is the only place I trust to get my nails done! The pedicure station is always super clean and this is the only place in the area that I noticed uses a liner! Everyone that works here is always super sweet and I'm so bummed that I have to move away and find a new nail salon. I recently started getting gel pedicures and gel manicures and I have no idea why I waited this long. I love the results and they do a good thorough job. I think the prices are reasonable and they have a wide range of colors to pick from. It is a mellow and relaxed vibe. Parking can be tricky on a busy weekend as there is a time limit on street parking so I recommend morning appointments so you can park in the parking lot.

I walked in and asked if they were free to do a dip set the next day. They said sure and booked me on the spot! While the dip part wasn't bad and I enjoyed the base color I picked out, the design this nail tech did, was horrible. I initially wasn't going to go for a design but on a whim, I asked "do you guys do any designs here?" She told me, "of course! What design do you want?" So I showed her. I will acknowledge a few things - 1. The darker base color can affect the overall design, but I'm not partial to that. 2. My short nail beds do make it difficult to do any extravagant designs. However, should either of those truly limit a nail tech's ability to actually do the requested artwork, I personally would have appreciated "because of these things, I'm not sure if these designs could be done". Instead, the nail tech continued and I was too shy to have her remove the design (this was the first time I've ever gotten art on my nails). Me not asking to have them removed was my responsibility, so I understand that. I just don't think it's quality work, ESPECIALLY considering the art that they post on their instagram. It's not consistent. It's unfortunate since they are so nice. I went to another nail place to get them changed after three weeks because I didn't want these to be my engagement nails. Glad I got those changed (but the other spot over filed my nails and now they're brittle). My nail beds were also very tender the next day, but since this was the first time I got my nails done, I wasn't sure if that was normal. Just putting that in as a heads up. Anyhow, Two stars for their approachability and flexibility but I'd give 1 if those were compromised.

Amazing place you have to go here .Ann gave me the best pedicure I ever had. Vivki gave me the best gel white tip I've ever had. I moved to the area from Newport Beach Orange County, which has many good nail places and I was looking for an affordable place and a place that was good. I went here and I can't even say how great this place is. My pedicure I got a 30 minute foot massage (who gets a 30 minute foot massage ) included with pedicure with hot stones- I mean how Long she just did was great and a beautiful job on my pedicure. The way she massaged my feet & legs was like a professional because I love pedicures and foot massages - this lady just was better than when I've gone to professional masseuse's. Vikki did my nails really really good they look beautiful! There was a man I think he's the owneror the manager answered all my questions and was just really nice. This place is superb. Amazing First Pedicure with Tracy! I had my very first pedicure at this salon with Tracy, and it was an incredible experience! Although Tracy doesn't speak English, she was incredibly patient and understanding, making sure I was comfortable throughout the process. She took her time, paid attention to detail, and my feet have never felt better. I highly recommend her, especially if it's your first time. Duong also did a full set for me, and the result was stunning! The nails are perfectly shaped, and the color is vibrant. You can tell Duong is a true artist with great skill. Loc, the owner/manager is wonderful as are his employees. I get a relaxing, gentle lash experience then the same with my nails. I've gone in now over three months and the service is consistent.
