After 15 years, I decided to get acrylics again. My daughter goes to Han and SWORE by his skills - he did not disappoint!! What a talented nail artist! It's a bonus that he is also an incredible human and so fun to talk to! I made an appointment, but while I was there, a nail tech that was on her way out stayed to take a walk in! They go above and beyond! I HIGHLY recommend for all your nail needs and a BIG thanks to Han for doing the exact french tips I wanted so beautifully.

After having the pedicure here -- infected big toenail

It was my 1st time, so I made an appointment with Han the day before the service. I arrived on time but waited for 30 minutes. She was busy with other customers, one after another, despite my earlier appointment. There was no explanation, and my nails were eventually done by two seniors. I did not feel welcomed, and the time management was disappointing.

The service exceeded my expectations i got a manicure and pedicure Anne did a great job and sadly i didn't get the name of the techs who did my full set but they all did such an amazing job i live 30 minutes away but would definitely be going back again soon!

Highly recommend this place.. The second I walked in everyone was so welcoming, wait time was under 20 minutes for a walk in.. Mary did my pedicure, she took her time and did a great job.. I highly recommend her, she is so sweet and friendly.. by the end of my pedicure, she gave me a hug which goes to show how genuine and sincere she truly is.. definitely going back

I love coming here because of Jenny. She is soooo good. Helped me take care of an ingrown nail on my toe and I haven't been able to go see anyone else since. She is so detail oriented and always does a good job. She always helps me find the perfect colors too!

Was excited to try this place out due to the reviews. The lady who I was with did a great job at trying to accommodate my requests. At first I wanted a black chrome that I saw on pinterest. When the black polish was laid and the white chrome was put on top it turned out to be like a metal grey color. So we changed it and I opted to go with this glitter gel over my acrylic. I wasn't too happy about the shape and lack of sharp corners. Yes I wanted a short coffin but I think these are too short and therefore have lost their shape. As seen on my right hand, she flied it way to low on the side and it looks funny. I tipped over 25% because of my lack of knowledge that Pinterest pictures aren't always going to turn out the way I wanted. I'll probably try them again in the future.

I honestly had high hopes for this place based on the reviews and how nice the salon looked. I called ahead and made an appointment for a manicure and pedicure. The older lady was the one who did both my mani and pedi. Pedicure was alright. Not the most relaxing as she kept putting pressure on my knee bone in a painful way during the massage. She did not communicate when she was done and abruptly put my sandals back on my feet. I wasn't aware/prepared for this and my big toe got smudged at the tip. I didn't see this until I left the salon because she rushed me to the manicure area as soon as she put my sandals on. The manicure was so much worse. I showed her my inspiration picture which was a light blue chrome. I spent a lot of time trying to find the right shade but then she strongly suggested a completely different color than what I originally wanted. She was very insistent that that color would match my inspiration picture. I was still optimistic about this place so I decided to just trust the process, especially since she was so sure that it would be the right color. When she started working on my hands, she was very quick and aggressive with how she was using the cuticle and nail clippers. She cut my nails way too close on the sides and left my nails looking and feeling way worse than before the service. I have never felt so much pain after a manicure. Multiple fingers feel like they were chopped off on the sides. It hurts and stings to touch anything or to do anything with my hands. This pain has made me very irritable on my current trip and I keep feeling pissed off that I paid $100 + tip to feel this way. I wish I saw the other reviews with her because it seems like this has happened with other clients as well. tl;dr: worst manicure experience because older lady was careless and caused pain from cutting too much skin and nails on the sides.

Got some fancy floral stickon design with a clear Dip undertone. (I get Dip because I have thin nails and they break easily when I work. This way, my nails are pretty and protected against breakage and it helps them grow! They're a healthier option than gel and acrylic fyi). They have a lot of options.. Moved here from NY 3 years ago. Needed a local nail salon. I can get picky and fancy with my requests so I've tried several salons. It's also one of the few places I found that does Dip nails. Their staff are great, service is good, and they have a more modern and clean decor compared to some of the older salons. Been coming for 2 to 3 years if I don't get a chance to do them when I'm visiting in NY. read more

Paid $50 for a full set, not even a week into having these nails 4 of them are already coming off. I've been trying to find a new nail place to go too since just moving here to Monterey but I can definitely say I won't ever be coming back. read more

I really want to give 2 stars but this place was very clean and the prices were reasonable especially for the location. Here's what went wrong. The lady doing my toes was not gentle. Three times she cut me and I flinched back because it was not subtle. I get my toes done a lot and know the normal uncomfortable feelings getting a pedicure and this was not it. The third time I started bleeding so bad she had to get up to get a cotton swab to stop the bleeding. Then instead of using toe dividers she used toilet paper. After I asked for a third coat because I got white and you could clearly see it was not a solid color still she started talking to the other workers and they both came over and looked at my toes. Overall she was just very rough and not careful with my feet and not very pleasant with me especially after I said multiple times that I really didn't want gel when she kept insisting. I won't coming back and neither will my friend who came with me even though she didn't experience what I did just because if it happened once it can happen again. Also the prices they show you before are not the real prices. The pedicures are all 5$ more than listed. Not a great experience. read more

First visit. I needed to get my gel polished acrylics removed ASAP. The staff was friendly and the salon was neat and clean. Ann removed the polish and the acrylics gently and did an amazing job of a manicure on very damaged nails. I will definitely be switching to Tip'nToe for future mani-pedi needs! read more

Oh May be easily pleased at the moment but after recovering from surgery a few weeks ago I found that self care has been difficult and not quite the priority so I came in for a mani pedi. I should have done this a week ago and should go every week!!! They let me just relax in the massage chair while they did a fabulous calf massage. My brain shut down within a few minutes so I could have given you more detail. By the time I came to, I felt like a civilized human again! Thank you! I will be back. read more

Definitely worth coming here! The service is great. With the whole COVID pandemic. To wearing Face mask, to window shield, and the 6ft apart station. I felt safe and relax knowing they care and want to make sure you are safe. Miss getting my nails done. Felt so relax and my nails are looking so cute! Best Pedicure Ever!! I went with my mom and we got spa pedicures. Ann really took her time and worked on my feet. The soak and massage were luxurious. My and my mom's feet were renewed and our whole bodies felt better. I booked my return appointment before leaving. I told my friend who went the next day, also receiving the spa pedicure. She thanked me for the referral with a resounding "Best Pedicure in My Life" note of gratitude. Hands down, the best pedicure ever! read more

I love them! The owners are a ton of fun and the prices are not outrageous. I love to go in during the week when it's a little slower. The weekends get slammed! Sometimes it's just the husband and wife working, so I can totally understand how they try and get as many people in. I've never had to wait longer than 5 minutes to sit down when I'm just a walk in. I had a pedicure and a full set gel manicure done. They did a great job with both and even offered my friend and I snacks/drinks. Parking can be a bit annoying because Lighthouse is always busy, but I'll definitely continue coming here! read more

I absolutely freaking love this place. When I moved to Monterey, I tried countless nail salons and always walked away disappointed. The second I found TipnToe, I was so relieved. They do a wonderful job every single time. They do have a ton of gel color options and Amy's recommendations are always perfect. I've been going here for a couple of years now and I'm so obsessed with my nails right now that I had to do a long overdue review. Steven and Amy are the best! I was waiting for my husband and because I hadn't gotten a manicure in some time, thought that it would be easier to get my polish professionally removed. I wasn't looking to get fresh color and though they seemed a bit befuddled but this, went along with my request. A cozy little set up conveniently located on the main drag very close to everything. I was especially drawn to their sign on the window that advertises as "Nail Cares." I couldn't help but find it charming. Highly recommended! read more

This place was the best pedicure I have ever had. Im visitng from out of town, As a walk in they made time for me. I splurged for the spa pedicure which was not expensive ( 50.00) it came with extra massage, paraffin wax and hot stones, what the what?!?! Very clean, comfy massage chairs. Great stuff. Will definitely come back whenever in town. They prefer cash but do take cards which is nice. I'm not posting pics of my feet but they looked and felt awesome. read more

Earlier in the week I wanted to get my nails done last minute for an award dinner. I couldn't get in to see Steven so I went to another salon. I ended up with an allergic reaction to the acrylic - no fault of the salons. This morning I came to see if Steven could remove the acrylic and work his magic. Fortunately, he made time for me! He's always knowledgeable and honest. His work is the best I've seen! Next time, I'll plan better or just wait until he has an opening. read more

I was looking for a good yet affordable nail salon to get a GEL manicure since i was visiting from S.F. This nail salon exceed my expectations!!! I loved it!!! My GEL manicure was only $30 and it came out amazing! The place was so cute, clean, and the employees were beyond sweet and helpful! After calling today(Sunday) to see if there was any availability to get a full set of acrylics -- I got squeezed in. I've been to many nail salons always in search of the one I could call my go-to. From the moment I arrived I was acknowledged and warmly greeted. After looking for a color and waiting I believe it was Steven's mom? Wish I could of caught her name but any who she was wonderful! So attentive to detail. Every so often she would pause and ask if everything looked ok. The end result was almost to perfection to me! I LOVE how they came out. The pricing is reasonable and if you pay in cash you get a 10% discount. I would definitely recommend giving this salon a chance. I'm glad I did. read more

All three of us were seated immediately and we had amazing customer service. My toes look fantastic and I loved the foot scrub and massage. Called ahead for a day of appointment for three, and they fit us in no problem. In fact, I'm surprised they weren't busier! Nice clean facilities, and everyone wore a mask. They were very meticulous and took their time with each foot, and the results absolutely show. Not to mention, they gave the most excellent massage I've had in a while!! Most places are super quick and don't really do much, but they really went for a great lower leg AND foot massage that was just perfect for aching feet. Will definitely be coming back! Hope to try out their manicures next time. read more

Loved this place first time here. I came in for a gel full set I had an appointment at 11:30 I arrived at 11:00 on the dot and they started on me right away. I saw Ann and she was so carefull when doing my nails she never injured my cuticles with the drill which I was amazed about usually someone always nicks my cuticle and make me bleed but not Ann. I realized I had sometime to spare asked if I could get a spa pedicure and as soon as my nails were finished we got started on my spa pedicure I am so happy and can't wait to come back. read more

Looked down at my toes this morning and realized they needed some love. Found Tip'n Toe on Yelp and decided to give them a try. Incredibly grateful they were able to fit me in last minute. I ended up getting the spa pedicure and couldn't be more pleased. The massage chair was heaven and the extra massaging and love my legs and feet got almost put me to sleep. Left with a beautiful pedicure completely relaxed and very happy. Worth every penny:) read more

Right down the street from my apartment in Monterey. I found it about a year and half ago when I moved to the area. I am planning to move in the next month and am sad to leave, because this has become one of my favorite local spots! Stephen and the whole team are amazing. I have always had a good experience here and the pedicure is the best one I've found in California in the few years I've been back on the West Coast! If you're in Monterey and needing to relax, this is the place to go! Good prices, friendly staff and super relaxing! read more

Hands down the best pedicure I've had in a really long time. My husband agreed (he treated us). It was much needed after a long weekend of being out and about in wine country. Did not disappoint at all. Great work at getting in-grown nails gunk and such and the leg/foot massage was soooooo good. I'm actually thinking of booking for dip nails now as it's closer then my current place I go for that. Will update! read more

I was in from out of town and able to schedule a last minute appointment on a Sunday for a much-needed mani/pedi. I received the best, longest foot massage I've ever gotten during a pedicure. Found my new go-to nail salon in Monterey. One of the best experiences in 20 years of getting my nails done. The shop is new, modern and very clean! Steven did my manicure and it came out perfect! He even repaired my broken nail at no extra cost. I'm writing this review one week later and still no chips and my nails still look freshly done. He has all the latest polish/nail products and I upgraded to chrome gel nails which he can customize the color. Just ask! Steven was very warm and friendly and we had a great conversation; I'm fairly new to the area and he's a local so he shared lots of recommendations to do around town. They have very nice new massage chairs. The pedicure was also awesome; great thorough massage!!! I'll be back soon! read more

I moved to the area from Newport Beach Orange County, which has many good nail places and I was looking for an affordable place and a place that was good. My pedicure I got a 30 minute foot massage (who gets a 30 minute foot massage ) included with pedicure with hot stones- I mean how Long she just did was great and a beautiful job on my pedicure. The way she massaged my feet & legs was like a professional because I love pedicures and foot massages - this lady just was better than when I've gone to professional masseuse's. Although Tracy doesn't speak English, she was incredibly patient and understanding, making sure I was comfortable throughout the process. She took her time, paid attention to detail, and my feet have never felt better. I highly recommend her, especially if it's your first time. Duong also did a full set for me, and the result was stunning! The nails are perfectly shaped, and the color is vibrant. You can tell Duong is a true artist with great skill.
