OMG!! We have not had a good Tex-Mex cuisine since living in San Antonio, THE FOOD WAS FIVE STAR DELICIOUS . Huevo Rancheros with eggs cooked perfectly with the whites solid and the yolk runny AND not plated on top of corn tortillas, the Rancheros sauce is to die for, made with thick sliced jalapeños! Best of all no black beans just fantastic refried pinto beans and fresh made tortillas made by hand and not with a tortilla machine. We live 36 miles away and the drive was worth it. We have tried other places in Ft Worth. And how I knew it was Tex-Mex restaurant? NO POZOLE, they have the three Amigos: Caldo de Res, Pollo and Menudo. We will be back!

Caldo de Res

Everything was perfect except that it's too far from me!!! Flour and corn tortillas are homemade. Tried a little bit of everything and was not disappointed at all!!!

Guisado en salsa verde

Every person in Dallas says this place is bomb- so this was a place that I've been wanting to try. So I'm finally here. Parking spot is small but there is parking- this place is packed but there was tables available- the whole time I was there people kept on coming but people were leaving also. - sit where you want- the waitress was good. Friendly- The Menudo- was missing some flavor I did like the meat it was chucky Nopalitos con Guisado de Puerco en Salsa Verde - and it comes with fresh homemade tortillas corn & flour- - the food was good. The rice was ok- the beans were actually pretty good. The guisado was good- One thing i was disappointed was that the salsa verde wasn't spicy- the salsas we got with the chips were not spicy either- for a Mexican joint , food needs a kick- not to burn off your tongue but a nice kick - that's why I was disappointed - maybe the jalapeños were being friendly that day- I will go back to try again

I've been here many times before and it's safe to say this place never disappoints. This is a traditional Mexican food spot that's family owned over by Love Field Airport. It's been around for decades and is one of two locations in DFW! We ordered the eggs with chorizo plate that comes with potatoes and beans & the tacos al carbon which comes with rice and beans. Your choice of tortilla as well (flour or corn)! The food is very tasty. Good service. I also had the horchata to drink (which is basically a sweet drink made with rice & cinnamon) & it was very yummy. Once you're done ordering you pay at the front! The ambiance is lively & it is usually very busy-- but I am not surprised. The food is extremely delicious and traditional. Please go dine here if you haven't already. They take to-go orders as well!

We found this place based on yelp reviews. It was very busy at 3pm so we thought we made a good choice. We got seated pretty quickly, but were not acknowledged by servers for a while. The person seating us finally came over to take our order. He then handed us over to a waitress. Our drinks and chips came out fairly quickly, but it took a while for our food. Other tables around us got their food first. The food was good but not outstanding. Seems like they have quite a following, but not worthy of the crowd.

Right by Bachman Lake and the highest rated tacos in the area on Yelp. You'll find ample parking and plenty of seat, yourself booths, and tables. Tables are numbered and you pay at the front. Be sure and get there early as it gets very crowded. The server was very friendly and efficient. Chips, salsa, and my huevos rancheros were delicious. My son and grandson enjoyed the tacos. The homemade flour tortillas were a hit with all of us!

I'll take the large bowl, please!

Mom used to make an Italian version of "menudo" (tripe) with a spicy tomato-based sauce and potatoes. Grew up loving that! When I first moved to Texas from the Midwest I was excited to see "menudo" on the menu at an (unnamed!) Mexican restaurant and ordered it without having done my research. It was HORRIBLE!!! Really greasy and obvious the tripe was not cleaned very well; it was years before I would ever try again. My second try was at Casa Navarro and, while theirs was MUCH better, the fact they serve it only Saturday and Sunday as well as it being "just okay" (still a bit too greasy for me) prevented me from going back. Today after doing a lot more research, I ended up at Tipico's at 10:45am on a Thursday--they serve menudo every day! I was surprised to see how crowded it was, getting one of the final few parking spots in the main lot. After sitting down at one of the last available tables I placed my order... a LARGE bowl of menudo--being only 50 cents more than the small bowl it seemed like a no-brainer. I (gringo) also appreciated that the waitress didn't ask me "if I was SURE I wanted to order it" like had happened both times before; it made me feel like less of an outsider and more welcome to be there! ;) What I was served along with the chips, salsa, and corn tortillas was AMAZING! The broth was so flavorful and the tripe was mild tasting and delicious. I could have eaten two large bowls! I do agree with some that a bit more hominy would have been nice but did not experience the saltiness described by some. If you ever feel adventurous and want to try menudo, I'd say this is the place to go. It was by far the best soup made with tripe I've ever eaten (sorry mom)! As long as you're able to mentally deal with what it is, the appearance, and texture I am confident you'll have a positive experience. Don't feel you need to have a hangover to enjoy it! I will DEFINITELY return... soon!

Taquitos advertised as tacos on the menu. Staff was really helpful in explaining the issue and re-making my order to what I wanted but in the end, taquitos were served (not tacos).

Love this place since I visited 8 years ago. Everytime I'm in dallas I make a lount of coming here. Staff is great and never had a bad experience with the food. The Agua Fresca lime is fantastic. I was craving an old school Mexican breakfast and stopped here. They do not have a long menu, but have an array of items from tacos, flautas, enchiladas, and more. It was very busy, but the waitress was quick to get everyone in and seated. The restaurant had some great music playing and TVs, but not too loud so you could converse with family and friends. They have the typical drinks you can think of and alcohol, but what stood out is that they actual Aguas Naturales and not from the machine. This something very rare in the Tex mex restaurants nowadays! I had the Lemonada and it was so refreshing. They gave chips and salsa, but with a hint of Tipico's way of doing things! A fresh red salsa that is the right amount of spice and flavor AND a cold salsa that is mild for my friends that just want to have a "chips and salsa" type of day meal. They are both appetizing and a perfect table starter before you get your meal. I ordered the chilaquiles and it was delish! Please keep in mind it is not the typical spicy version you might be use to it is Egg with tortillas and chorizo, beans, and potatoes. It also comes with either flour tortillas or corn. What I liked it was not too spicy and I could enjoy! I also tried the Menudo and was just like "how grandma use to make it at home" with a punch of flavor. If I could I would of drank the broth lol. Seriously, try the Menudo it is what they are known for. The staff is quick on their feet and constantly getting their customers in and out of the door. That is what I call GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! I will be back to try the rest of menu items! Thanks Tipicos for being one of a kind!

Tipico's is one of the few Mexican restaurants in Dallas I can confidently say serves a TRUE, AUTHENTIC Mexican food experience. My family and I have been coming here for YEARS. This ain't no fancy "gourmet" Mexican food or chimichanga/queso type Tex-Mex. It's, for lack of better terms, a hole-in-the-wall that serves BOMBBBB Mexican food. My mom is from South TX and she says the food tastes like authentic Texas Mexican food and is the closest to the food she gets back home. The quality is consistently great and they serve chips and salsa. The salsa is spicy af and not watered down at all. I love the red salsa. The chips always taste fresh. The service is always fast and the employees here work hard. We've never received poor service here. The dishes are amazing-I highly recommend their breakfast tacos (bacon & egg, nopales), their beef soup (sopa de res), and their res guisado taco plate. You won't be disappointed here.

The location is super cute and always packed. You definitely need a reservation or have to go super early to get a spot. There is valet parking as well as street parking, which can get a bit crowded. I've had a ton of different food items the years, but their fajitas are their signature dish for a reason! It comes out sizzling, fresh, and delicious. Do not pass up on the bone marrow sauce, it transforms the dish to beyond a 10/10! The salsas are always good and then tortilla chips salty and fresh. I start with a skinny margarita w a salt rim, which was good. Our waiter, Abraham, was great! He was very attentive and was very knowledgeable about the menu. We also order the ceviche to start, which was yummy! The crackers were a bit of an odd pairing for me and I stuck with tortilla chips, but overall delicious!! The meat was very tender & falls off the bone. The fries that it comes with were alright. There was a little of wait, but I didn't mind since the food was good. Our food did take a while. Our waitress was very attentive & filled our water. There was seating inside & outside on the patio. I was glad that we were sat outside since it was a beautiful day today. Here in Texas, chips and salsa are such a commonplace experience it's off-putting to pay for them. We ordered the guacamole and the chips and salsa come with it, so that was, I guess, better...but the guacamole was $16, so there's that. The salsa was tasty as was the guacamole, but again, for the portion it's really not worth it. We had the queso flameado, which was yummy and the flour tortillas are good! We split the sirloin and were underwhelmed. For a grilled meats place the steak was very under seasoned and wasn't giving us fresh hot grilled vibes. Meh at best, as were the rice and beans. We ordered elote as a side and it was really the best thing we ate. Service was friendly and efficient! Cocktails average $16ish. Again, for the prices we expected better.

Chris our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. He took his time walking us through the menu and explaining what made El Carlos Elegante so special. The drinks were perfect. My wife loved her Desert Flor while I thoroughly enjoyed my Modelo Micheleda. Her Surf and Turf one hitter was exceptional. I have to say my Crab Cake was just ok. It tasted a little pasty and very heavy on the bread. The Pulpo was absolutely amazing. Perfect texture and the sauce it was served almost had me licking the plate. The El Machete was incredible from its presentation, to the freshness of the corn tortilla, to the quality of the meat inside. Definitely recommend this. We really liked our Okra + Shishito course, we just wished it had more okra in it. The two things I loved about the Al Pastor was of course the sauce it was served on but the fact that I got to enjoy it like a steak. It was served sliced on a bias like flank steak. Typically Al Pastor is finely chopped and served in tacos and burritos, so this was a different eating experience for me. And of course it was delicious as well. We cannot wait to come back and try more of the menu.

That visit checked every box -- the food, service, ambiance, and overall hospitality were all exceptional. What really stood out to me then was the attention to detail. I had casually mentioned that one of my cocktails wasn't quite my taste, and Harry personally reached out afterward to say they'd gladly adjust it next time. That kind of thoughtful follow-up leaves a lasting impression and is exactly the sort of hospitality that elevates a restaurant experience. Unfortunately, this recent visit felt like a completely different restaurant. We decided to do a combination of à la carte dishes along with the Experience menu after being told this version would feature entirely off-menu items, which genuinely intrigued us since Ihad also done the Experience previously. At the start of dinner, we were asked about allergies and dietary restrictions. I clearly explained that I have a mango allergy and do not eat beef. Our server then asked whether I ate other meats, and I clarified yes -- and even specifically mentioned that if the machete dish was beef, please still include it because my friend could enjoy it and I really wanted her to try it. He confirmed it would be the sirloin version, so we happily agreed not to modify that course. So imagine our surprise when one of the first dishes arrived dressed with a mango vinaigrette. Thankfully, we barely caught him quietly mentioning "mango" as he set it down. We immediately looked at each other thinking, "Didn't we just discuss the allergy?" It was disappointing, but unfortunately also representative of the overall service throughout the evening. Our server seemed disengaged, inattentive, and often not fully listening. Empty glasses sat untouched, opportunities to order additional items were missed, and at one point we were simply handed the check without even being asked if we wanted anything else. We also ordered a bottle of sparkling wine and ended up pouring it ourselves for most of the evening because our glasses were rarely refilled. I completely understand not leaving the bottle tableside if walkway space is limited, but repeatedly needing to get up ourselves to retrieve it felt out of sync with the level of service one expects from a Michelin-recommended restaurant -- especially at this price point. Then came the machete dish. Instead of the sirloin version we specifically discussed, we received the vegetarian potato version. When the server asked how it looked, I politely explained that we were disappointed because he had specifically told us it would be the sirloin preparation. At minimum, I would have expected another protein substitution given the earlier conversation about what I could eat. I'm also still unclear whether the Experience menu was truly "off-menu" as described, since several dishes -- including the halibut -- appeared familiar. Had that been communicated differently, we likely would have skipped the Experience altogether and simply curated our own meal. At the end of the night, spending over $500 while pouring our own wine, nearly being served an allergen we explicitly disclosed, and receiving dishes different from what was promised made for a deeply disappointing experience -- especially after such a phenomenal first visit. It honestly felt sad more than anything because I know how wonderful this restaurant can be. I'm not sure what changed in the last five months, but the difference was significant.
