I bring my dog here for all her grooming needs. Shes a mixed terrier so her hair grows long and slightly wavy. Easy to call for appts and as much of an anxiety she has, she manages to sit thru her shower and cut without a problem. Ive brought her to petco once and she was so scared that she kept throwin up.. they couldnt groom her. But at tiny tails, no problems. I love the fact they have a waiting area for pets that are cleaned and groomed, waiting to be picked up. It gives a chance for the dogs to play w eachother before going home. I can't say enough about how amazing Tiny Tails is! I brought in my five-month old puppy for her first grooming appointment. And being a neurotic, nervous, overprotective mommy to her, I was so anxious about the grooming process because I didn't want her to have a bad experience and be scared of grooming going forward, especially considering her breed (Havanese). Everyone was so amazing from the time I walked in. I think they could tell that I was a nervous wreck (I didn't try to hide it) and just talking me through the process and explaining what they would be doing, and letting me just express my nervousness, I really started to feel at ease. Joe did Celine's grooming. And he is just amazing. So knowledgeable and really cares about your dog and their personality and how to work with their grooming needs. When I came back to get her, I can't even describe first and foremost, how calm and happy she was which is what I cared about the most. And how adorably cute she looked. I could tell right away that she was fine being there and I immediately knew that this was the place that I'm bringing her for grooming from now on! I've been bringing my yorkie Dez here for 2 years now. Joe the groomer is absolutely amazing !! My little furbaby was traumatized during his first few grooming sessions somewhere else and after that wouldn't let anyone touch him. UNTIL we came to tiny tails. The first few times, Dez wasn't the idle client but thanks to Joe's patience and wonderful skills, Dez now runs into his arms. I don't know what I would do without tiny tails ! Thank you ! I came to Tiny Tails after moving to Brooklyn from Jersey. I'm always scared of taking my dog to new groomers but Tiny Tails does not disappoint. They listen to what I would like done and give feedback as well as to how the grooming went. Our old groomer closed up shop about a year ago, and my husband was wary of finding a new place! Our dog is short haired but still needs a slight shave down every few months or else she looks disheveled.. which is hard to do without making her look uneven (especially around the neck/head). We took her here and they asked a bunch of questions about what we meant and let me tell you.. they did a PHENOMENAL JOB! WAYYYY better than her old groomer used to do!!! Been to this groomers new location twice. They used to be located in a smaller space off 86th and 14th ave (went to them there 1 time before they moved to this larger location). The newer location is definately done nice. Its a big space, clean and they offer cage free grooming. Prices are resonable. Note: seemingly difficult to get an appointment for your dogs grooming (unless you call 2+ weeks in advance). Also to note, on my last visit everything was fine until I came to pick up my dog - was told he would be about 4 hours until pick up. Thought Id pop in about 20 minutes before so I could pick up some dog sprays and ask about the day care. Right as I was walking in (they have to buzz you in) the woman actually doing the grooming (think the owner) popped her head out and gave a very strong attitude saying "we told you 4 hours, your dogs not ready yet". She continued to whisper in the back to another staff member about me as if I wasnt standing there. Overall, quite unprofessional. Well guess what, I didnt buy any product. Although, they did a good job on my dogs grooming, I've heard a handful of people that stopped visiting this grooming shop because of attitude issues with the owner. Well Im pretty sure I met her.. and, unfortunately, havent been back since. read more

I'm pleased with their work on my two Shih Tzu's! We have been here two times after going to multiple groomers over the past few years and so far so good! The girls that work here are nice and seem to really care about the pups. They have a play area for the dogs that has a wee wee pad, soft beds and lots of toys, you do have to pay for this luxury but it's nice to know it's an option, especially if the thought of keeping your dog in a cage makes you uneasy. Their prices are about $5 to $10 lower than other places for basic grooming which is always a help. If you write down specifics for what you want done they will do a great job of giving you what you want! The second time we went, one of my pups came out with a bit of a lazy eye which has happened before. The groomer explained that he had some hair stuck in the eye ball and it became irritated when removed. She promised his condition would improve and said to call her if he wasn't ok by 2pm the next day and she would take him to her vet. As predicted, he was much better by around noon and it gave my wife and I piece of mind in knowing we can trust these girls. They only do grooming and take their time, it takes around 2 and a half to 3 hours per dog because they say they have a process that is a little longer than other places. Each dog gets a pretty bow around their neck when done, too! I really like Tiny Tails and would recommend them to anyone looking for a groomer. read more

The love, care and dedication the staff gives to their clients is beyond anything I have ever experienced since owning a dog. I never have a problem getting an appointment - or dropping my dog off early if needed. The Cage Free/Day Care area is one of the many perks of being a client of Tiny Tails. I never worry while my dog is being groomed or in Day Care because he is in great hands, and extremely safe. After waiting a month for an appointment - a total disappointment for my 2 miniature schnauzer pups! Directions for grooming were totally ignored. My husband and I were very clear with the receptionist Lily. We were told to send an email with our request for our 2 miniature schnauzers. We did. My Directions: Picture for face only - we provided a picture because schnauzers have distinct eyebrows and beards. We also said we wanted the body short and slightly longer on the legs. Instead the hair on the body was long, with a skirt, and it was very long on the legs. Why ask for what we want- if the groomers are not going to follow the directions. In addition, we were told cage free . When we arrived - there were NO dogs in the cage -free area as I viewed from outside. As I was coming in- a dog was being placed in a pen. When my husband asked why our pups (5 months old) were not in the pen- we were told because the other dog was female and in heat. The haircut was not what we asked for so my husband asked for the groomer to follow our directions- short on the body. We waited outside while they tried to fix the haircut. I am very disappointed - the haircut is uneven on both dogs and the underbelly on each dog could have been groomed better. I was charged an additional $15 for each dog for a specialty haircut. Nothing special about either haircut. Even though my pups never had a cage-free experience- it still appeared on the bill - but thankfully no charge.  My bill with tax and tip (not sure why I left one) came out close to $200. Pricey for a grooming that does not look like it was done by a professional. My 5 month pups were not happy with their experience as well. read more

My yorkie/bichon mix, Bailey, needed a haircut badly and Tiny Tails had the first available appointment in the area so I decided to try them out. They were absolutely wonderful! My dog has had some less than stellar experiences at other groomers causing her to act weird and avoid her crate for a few days afterwards but she was totally fine with Tiny Tails! LOVE LOVE LOVE. I have a timid and easily stressed rescue Bichon named Lucy. I've taken Lucy to Tiny Tails twice now (her next appointment is tomorrow) and am completely sold on it. Lucy's groomer Kristin really takes the time to help Lucy feel comfortable as possible, its amazing. At the last place I was bringing Lucy to, she couldn't wait to leave. When I pick her up from Tiny Tails not only does she look beautiful, but she seems so happy. I also just really appreciate how when I come to pick her up Kristin takes the time to come out of the grooming room and talk to me about what she did and why. The last place I took Lucy to did not know how to groom a Bichon and, more often than not, she came out not looking like what I had imagined. From the get-go Kristin knew what needed to be done and has done an outstanding job! Just a side note - their website (I believe) says that grooming takes about 3 hours. Last time Lucy had a haircut, they took 5 hours. I am 100% okay with this because the reason for the long haircut was that in between bathing, blowdrying, brushing, trimming, and primping Kristin was letting Lucy walk around, destress, and play. When I got to the store to pick Lucy up she was giving Kristin kisses! (My dog is normally skittish around people she doesn't know). My puppy had to get s full grooming for the first time I had got him. I have searched extensively for a place around my neighborhood, but I could not find anything that I was comfortable with.
