Despite specifically asking that my deceased dog not be mentioned, this boundary was disregarded. That alone was upsetting and unacceptable. In addition, over the past four years I have spent hundreds of dollars at your establishment, yet I have repeatedly experienced incomplete grooming services while still being charged the full amount each time. I also do not understand why it consistently takes four hours to groom a five-pound dog, particularly when details are routinely missed. Beyond the services themselves, there has been a persistent lack of acknowledgment and basic client consideration, which is disappointing given the length of time I've been coming to you (since 2019). I am generally a very easygoing person, but between the repeated boundary violations, the inconsistency in services provided, and the lack of accountability, I have lost all confidence in your business. This was my second time taking Fluff here, and I was very satisfied with the results both times. They cut his hair even shorter this time, and did a 'sanitary shave' which I highly recommend! It worked out perfectly because his fur grows so quickly and it had become difficult to manage and required a lot of grooming and cleaning. The best part was that I could tell Fluff seemed genuinely happy with his haircut! My dog is 19 years old and has trouble standing on his own, which makes grooming very difficult. After being turned away by other places, this was the only one willing to care for my senior dog--and I am eternally grateful. They handled him with such patience, kindness, and understanding. It's hard finding a shop that offers hand stripping especially at a decent price so I thought I hit the jackpot when I found this place, unfortunately I'm going to have to keep searching. I was very specific with my instructions. No clippers, full hand strip, trim only as needed. I provided reference photos of what I wanted and even offered to send a website link that had a detailed description of how to groom this breed (since it's not one many people have ever seen, let alone worked on) along with diagrams but the person I spoke to said it wouldn't be needed. Wearily, I took her word. What I got back was not what I was expecting and frankly, it doesn't look the best. My dog is not a schnauzer, but they seemed to have given him a schnauzer skirt for some reason. He's overtrimmed when the breed is meant to look rough and natural. Besides that, the handstrip job itself looks decent with very minimal balding so that's one of the positives. I'm just disappointed that my instructions and references weren't followed as closely, especially for the price I paid. read more

While, I'm upset that this happened to my dog, I really appreciate the owner's response and attention to the situation. It's clear that he cares about both his customers and their animals. ​I booked a full service for my Mini Aussie, including a berry facial for his paws and sanitary trimming only. I explained to all three receptionists that he had gotten sick on his way to the spa and that we had wiped him down as best we could. I specifically emphasized that I did not want his front legs trimmed and that I only wanted a light trim on his upper back legs. When I picked him up, he still reeked of vomit and his front legs had been trimmed. His paws were not trimmed well and he still had saliva stains on them. I was disgruntled that the groomer had not followed my instructions, and I felt that the job had been done haphazardly. However, the owner was very responsive and resolved the matter instantly, without hesitation. I appreciate his willingness to make things right. read more

I came into Brooklyn Pet Spa last minute with my cat Dali who evacuated the fires from Los Angeles. He unfortuanately had fleas & these guys did an incredible job getting him as cleared as possible with their kitty bath. They also gave him a great haircut. Back in July 2024 I bought my Pomeranian for his scheduled grooming appointment and let's just say that day was a very bad experience for him not only him but also for myself This was my Pomeranians third time coming to the establishment to be groomed, and it was already understood that he does not do well with male groomers that he should have a female groomer. On this particular time of his appointment. I'm guessing he was assigned to a male groomer got a call to come and pick up my Pomeranian because he was biting the staff when I got there. The front desk attended showed me a video, but I saw no evidence of my dog, biting anyone but barking When I asked for someone to come and speak to me so I could inquire about more details as to what occurred and exactly how my Pomeranian was behaving towards staff and/or the assigned groomer. No one would come out and speak to me, not even the manager just so I could get an idea of what exactly occurred the person at the front desk pretty much blew me off, and no one came out to speak to me nor even followed up with the phone call. I walked out of that establishment, embarrassed, and in tears, and since then I have been hesitant to even take my dog to any groomer and pretty much been just doing it on my own at home, which I feel is not fair to my dog because he should have a professional groomer so no, I would not recommend this establishment if you have a dog with anxiety because they are not trained, and they do not specialize with dogs with high anxiety. My Pomeranian's previous appointment's he's had a female groomer, and she was excellent. Very patient with him and my Max liked her very much. He trusted her. It would have been really helpful if someone especially the site manager would have came out and spoke to me or follow up with a call. I was pretty much told they're too busy right now. I should have trusted the reviews! I brought my toy poodle in to be groomed, and they took her back and then returned without her and told me I'd be charged an extra fee because she had mats. I told them that was not possible because I brush and comb her every single day and I asked them to bring her back out and show me the mats. When they returned with her, she said that she had mats around her neck. I looked and there were no mats and she told me that her hair is really thick so there's an extra fee for combing thick hair. Sometime last year my dog had an ear infection and I heard it from them first and was able to get it treated early. I have been bringing my little Ellie here for about three years, and when I recently got another baby named Rosie, it was a no-brainer to bring her here as well. I'm always treated by two young men that are more than happy to help and are very communicative always. In addition, I had the luxury of speaking with the owner directly; Sandro was always kind and accommodating and always found an appointment that worked for me. We have to support small businesses, especially after the pandemic. But with all this being said, I'm saddened that I will not return. I firmly believe in treating people how you want to be treated, and I had a horrific experience that made me never want to return. I brought my babies in like regular, except this time it wasn't the young men but a young girl (I cannot remember her name). The rolling of the eyes and huffing and buffing should have told me everything I needed. But she grabbed my babies and brought them to the back; after five short minutes, she returned and said your dogs are knotted and will be charged a fee. I was shocked and asked her if they could show me the knots because I comb my girls daily. When I asked this question, it all took a turn. For the worst, I received a nasty attitude and, without saying a word, went to the back and brought the groomer out. The groomer was friendly and kind, and I tried to remain calm. The groomer could not show me any knots on my babies and said, "We know Ellie; she can just be brushed out." The conversation ended there. I then received a call from the same young lady that my dogs were both ready to be picked up, and I was being charged a fee for matting. At this point, I was confused, and my confusion quickly turned to anger when the woman on the phone was just being super rude. I said, "You have a nasty attitude," and she promptly responded, "You have had a nasty attitude since this morning." At this point, I knew I would never return because if this was a "perfect employee," I couldn't imagine what a not-so-good employee is like. So I quickly called the owner (Sandro), who explained he told the employee she could not speak to people this way, especially customers, but I needed more. I want to go somewhere where I'm wanted and not like I'm a bother, especially when I pay nearly $300 for two dogs. Now you're probably thinking one rude employee and I'm ready to leave? , No, this isn't the first mistake, and I know it won't be the last. Ellie got her first haircut here, and that same day, she had a lump of hair that wasn't brushed out that I had to cut off physically. EEven though the owner was quick to apologize and be amazing, I still had to cut chunks of hair off my Ellie. If the owner were there full-time watching what happened, he would understand the frustration better, but he has a life, and that's understandable. So I will not return, and if you go here, just be cautious that you may not get a consistent outcome every time. Sadly I will be on the hunt for a new grooming place with consistency and where ALL employees care about customers and not just some. read more

Updated Review: after the less than ideal visit I first had at BPS the owner immediately reached out to make it right. It was really really quickly. You can tell they take customer satisfaction very seriously. I was invited to bring my dog back to have the grooming fixed and the groomer there did an excellent job. My first visit may have been a aberration. It was groom was like night and day and I and my dog are very happy with it. What I thought was a cut on my dog from the first grooming was actually razor irritation and that as well is a non-factor this time. They earned my business. read more

We dropped her off and were told to sign a "liability" form in the case that she would be "injured" during the process. After two hours of waiting, we walked in to check on her, and...they hadn't even started because she was "stressful". They told us to come back later. After 30 minutes we received a call saying that I had to pick her up because she was too "stressful". Aside from the blatant mistreatment and unprofessionalism, the staff were extremely cold and unfeeling upon receiving and giving back my cat. I've been to Brooklyn Pet Spa twice and will never go back. Today I dropped my dog off at 1:30p for his appointment. 7p rolls around and we still haven't heard from them. We called to check in and they indicated a groomer had a death in the family so another had to come in to finish the dogs. Understandable but why wouldn't you call to let us know? We finally receive a call that our dog is finished at 8p. Yes, my dog was there for 6.5 hours without water or being able to go to the bathroom. When we picked him up the woman at the front desk said she'd be back with him. 10 minutes later and still no dog. I had to go knock on the doors to see what was going on. I finally open the authorized personnel door because no one answered and she is just standing there. WTH. So by the time we leave my dog has not gone to the bathroom or had water for 7 hours. We get him home and he drank so much water he threw up. He is practically shaved after I told them to keep him long. They said they may have to go shorter because of matted fur but I didn't know that meant practically shaved. He has had many many groomings and never once was there a need to shave him as short as they did. He looks ridiculous. I had a bad feeling about BPS after our first visit and it's also unsettling that you cannot see the dogs being groomed and the "daycare" looks filthy. My dog is extremely skittish when getting her nails trimmed and I contacted Brooklyn Pet Spa on the suggestion of our vet's office. I called to make the appointment--letting the person who answered the phone know that my dog would need someone who could handle a difficult dog -- and he reassured me that they had someone very experienced who would be able to do the job. I made an appointment for the next day, excited that I finally found a place that could do the job, maybe on a regular basis -- but was extremely disappointed when the groomer -- who expected me to hold my dog while he did the job -- tried once and when she pulled her paw away he shrugged and the man at the desk told me they couldn't trim her nails today and to come back another time and maybe she would do better! I ordered a bath and brush for my miniature australian shepherd at this salon. I instructed them to brush my dog, because they asked. When she went in, she was wearing a grey flea color. When I got her back she was not wearing this flea collar (a 55 dollar flea collar, basically new.) I didn't say anything because I didn't notice for a while. Wish I could get this back. Did they not know what it was? Did they want it? I mean, it's obviously not trash. It was there for a reason.. Regarding the work, she returned basically unbrushed. There were intense knots by her ears that I had to fix myself. Her scent was also incredibly strong. The only good thing about this salon is their convenient booking process and reasonable pricing. Had the kitty groomed for the first time here today and it went splendidly. Had an appointment at 10 and she was all set by 11:30. I wasn't ready to pick her up right away because I wasn't expecting them to be so quick! But they were very patient with me. Roobie looked so cute with her little bandana and smelled great! Their de-shedding process really helped because prior to this appt her hair was just coming out in clumps. My experience was terrible. I waited over 5 hours for my dog to be groomed. They should not hold the dogs for so long if they are over booked. After picking him up I sent the owner pictures my dogs ears were matted and his nails had been cut sloppily. He was very kind and offered to detangle them and a free groom. However days later my dog developed an infection in his paw that was clearly from a cut between his toes they never pointed out to me. It then spread to his eye from rubbing. My little guy is now in a cone and on medication after hundreds of dollars and 2 vet visits. NOT only did I pay for the terrible groom but a huge medical bill on top of it. We've been coming here for quite a few years, before the name changed. We have a border terrier than needs to be hand stripped. Our previous appointment, pre covid, went fairly well. For some reason they decided he's supposed to look like a different terrier, so when I came to pick him up, I pointed out that he's a border terrier, they took him back, and he came out looking great. We were very satisfied, they said they took a picture so they'll know for next time. Well next time came around this past weekend. Clearly not the same person doing the stripping. There was lots of long hair left all over his body, and again they made a huge mess of the face. Left long eye brows and a beard. All you have to do is do a quick Google search, and you will get clear instructions on how a border terrier is supposed to be stripped. That picture they took for reference seemed to have gone they way of the Google search. I asked them to fix it, and clean him up properly. When they brought him out, it looke.d like they simply cut the hair a bit, not actually pulled it out. He looked like a mess, not how a border should look after a stripping. They denied that they just cut the facial hair, but if they had actually pulled it out, there wouldn't have just been half inch long fur left, but the short undercoat. I didn't want to argue anymore, so I just paid and left. The final straw that made me write this review are the scabs that I keep finding all over him after the stripping. I usually see a few here's and there after a stripping, but it looks like he was tortured this time. A really great way to spend over $200 to groom your dog. We'll be taking him elsewhere next time. Update: Not sure what uploading the pictures does besides showing that your groomer did not in fact know how a border terrier should look stripped. He's a border terrier not a schnauzer. Since I posted my review, I found dozens upon dozens of scabs on his neck alone. I really don't know how that's possible, besides your groomer just digging the stripping knife into his neck repeatedly and aggressively while stripping his neck. You've also Indicated in your private messages to me that you let the groomer go. You seem to have omitted that fact in your public reply to my review. Was that just said to pacify me? read more

Every time I bring my dog here I have the best customer experience. They genuinely care about animals and take great pride in their work. Everyone there is also friendly. I wasn't aware that my dog had sensitive skin. When I noticed my dog aggressively scratching himself after getting groomed, the owner offered to give him an oatmeal deep conditioner on the house if I bring him back in. The deep conditioner definitely worked. Even though I moved out of Brooklyn, there is still no other place I would rather bring my dog to. I was so excited to try this place as it is in my neighborhood and has some pretty good grooming reviews. I have a 5 pound Yorkie Terrier that gets groomed once a month or once every two months. His hair was a little over and inch long all around, and I asked that it be cut very low everywhere on the body except his head. He also suffers from eczema, so I asked that he have a deep condition. I booked him for a grooming, deep conditioning, and tooth brushing. Let me start by saying he was groomed very well. His haircut looked great, his nails were cut and buffed, he was soft and his dry patches weren't flared up. The issue I have is that this grooming cost me a lot more than I expected. I wish there had been a conversation about what I could've expected to pay. UPDATE: The owner reached out and is very polite. He was willing to explain to me exactly what I paid for and offered to rectify the situation monetarily. I explained that a rough pricing estimate would have been nice beforehand. The front desk staff and groomers are trying their best: management has this place wildly understaffed and not set up for success. They released the dogs directly into the waiting room with no leash after their haircuts. The dogs could have run right out into the street if a customer had come in. The dogs running loose in the lobby scared my cat as I waited a half hour after my scheduled appointment time for my cat nail trim. By the time the groomer saw her, she was terrified and hissing from her experience in the waiting room. Also, they lost two clients' collars and ID tags. One client told me they had waited 4 hours for their dog's trim. The one positive note is that the groomer was very nice and good at his job. He was able to trim my cat's nails even when she was angry.
