Being that this place was so highly rated, I trusted the 59 yelp reviews on here and brought my puppy (1 year old). After picking him up, I noticed that his nails were not trimmed. When mentioning this to the groomer she told me that she attempted but he started to bleed so she stopped. I have trimmed my dogs nails countless times and he has never bled before. So either she went way too far down and doesn't know how to trim nails, or she just used that as an excuse as to why she didn't cut them. Either way- his nails not being trimmed were the least of my issues. After getting home, I noticed my dog was constantly licking and biting his groin area in pain. I picked him up to notice that he had been cut/burned (see photos below). I of course had to take him to the vet (another additional cost) and he is now on an ointment where they also suggested I put a CONE on him while he heals. All because of a bad grooming?! Beyond inconvenient. I immediately contacted the owner & she offered a free grooming the next time I bring him. I don't think anyone would ever feel comfortable bringing their dog back to a place after this experience. She also told me that there was only one groomer and it's hard for her when a puppy moves around. Understood. But maybe then she should've asked me to come on a day where there were more hands on staff. Regardless of a puppy or older dog, I'm sure 90% of the dogs do not just sit completely comfortable while getting groomed. But that is your profession and it's your job to make sure you do not continue grooming if the dog is not cooperating. I understand mistakes happen, but he was cut/burned twice. One of the times on his scar from being neutered. I'm sure he was letting her know he was in pain, and she definitely should've been more careful. Maybe some people have had a pleasant experience here, but unfortunately, I sure as hell did not. read more

This place is seriously so great and did such an amazing job taking care of our dog! As soon as we walked in they were so accommodating and respectful and patient with Zeus, he was nervous in a new environment and they made sure he felt safe and secure with them before being taken in for his bath. When we came back he was the happiest and the cleanest we've ever seen him. His coat was clean and soft, his nails were trimmed perfectly and he even came back to us with the cutest bandana on :) everybody that works there was so kind to us and Zeus absolutely adored them, the prices were also very fair and inexpensive for everything that they've done for him. So I took the chance on this place being it was 4.5 star. We took our rescue dog who hadn't been to a groomer since the time of his rescue. He has had behavioral issues we have been working on.... needless to say we were super nervous. And afraid we were gonna get a call to get him right after drop off. Thankfully that didn't happen. Pros: this is a cage free establishment which I think is a Plus especially for a dog like ours. He was happy to socialize with other dogs from what we were told. The staff was super accommodating when it came to our directions about a female only groomer(our little guy prefers women to men strangers) They were super patient and worked with him through his first grooming even though he gave them a bit of trouble when it came to the grooming that required him to have bite guard placed over his head. They didn't muzzle which I thought was good. Cons: after getting him home we noticed he started to limp. He is not in pain of licking or tending to the area heavy so we suspect one of two things occurred. 1. He either got a nail trimmed to short (they did tell us that prior to the bite guard he did nip at them when they were working on his paws) or 2. When playing in the cage free environment he may have been rough housing with a bigger dog. My only ask would have been that if it was a nail cut too short that they would have told us. This is the only reason we went 4 out of 5 Overall for the price we will be brining him back here for at least a 2nd try. We appreciated the patience and understanding of these amazing ladies!!! read more

I am so happy that I found Pampered Paws. My dog, Ringo, needed his nail trimmed badly. He recently had his nails trimmed at another place (about a month ago) but the groomer didn't do a very good job, so I was a bit skeptical. Happy to say that Luisa did a beautiful job! Pampered Paws is the best! I called this morning at around 8 am and was told they could fit my dog Leela in at 10:30. Perfect! When I brought her in, she had poop matted to her and it was an emergency situation... yuck. We were greeted right away. Paperwork took about a minute. I didn't have her vaccination paperwork but she had her tags on and the groomer said that it would be no problem to contact her vet. The groomer greeted and held Leela and I appreciated that she was so kind and gentle, even though my dog was covered in matted poop. Then, I was an hour late to pick her up and they were patient and understanding. Best of all, my Leela received the best grooming of her life! Her cut was expertly done and her fur is so soft and smells great. We've been going to more expensive and less skilled groomers for years but not anymore! So glad we decided to try Pampered Pooch. I hate to do this because the owner is really nice. But when I think about bringing my dog here again, I just feel disappointment. Let's start with the positives: -Really nice owner. -Dogs are able to roam free before/after cuts instead of being crated. It first started when I was looking for a new groomer after my dog's old groomer left the place. I called a few places and settled on this one based on both the good reviews and price. I was forthright with my dog's breed, size and issue and was quoted a range of $50-65. Knowing my dog's issues, I figured it would be $65 and I'm fine with that. Anyway I booked, brought him in and even remembered to bring in his vaccination records. My husband and I talked to the owner for a few minutes about general nonsense. I said that I wanted the dog's hair was just too long at this point. Never was I asked how I want his hair cut. It was kind of spastic in there, being a Saturday, so it was really hard to get anyone to focus on anything. Then I give them the instructions about his issues. (Remember, I had already told them this over the phone when I made the appointment.) I specifically said that he doesn't like his paws touched and he specifically really doesn't like his front paws touched. I say this both so that the groomer can work with him and relax him from getting stressed out AND ALSO because I don't want the groomer to get hurt. I could be all slick and shady and leave this info out but I *ALWAYS* mention it in everyone's best interest. Several hours later, we get a phone call that the dog is ready. Great! We get there 45 minutes later and I don't even recognize my dog. They really shaved him down and he looked like a naked pooch. I wasn't expecting that. OK, fine, at least it was even and it grows back. Plus, the guy could be a dog model and never looks bad (unlike his owners). Then the owner comes to us and says, "Oh, you know you're dog gets really upset and flips out when we started working on his front paws." Oh really? Based on me telling you that twice, I could see how you totally wouldn't have known that beforehand. I mean seriously... I made sure everyone was paying attention when I said he gets really upset when his paws are groomed. You choose not to listen to that. So then she adds that it'll be an additional $15. My husband and I look at each other like WTF and pay it anyway. It was only once we walked out and started discussing it that we totally felt ripped off since we both remember me stressing his paw issues. So here's the kicker. When I'm tinkering around with my dog while we're still there, his nails feel like before. That $70 job (now $85) was supposed to include nail clipping. They didn't bother. It's not like they said, oh we didn't clip his nails because of what happened. It was more like they were hoping I wouldn't notice. So they took him back and it took two people to do it (which actually isn't unusual for my little guy). But the way they did it totally stressed him out. I feel like if they had done it as they were supposed to, he would have still put up a fuss but would not have been nearly as stressed out as he was. I guess the extra $15 for not listening to me and not doing a complete job was totally worth a non-repeat customer and bad review. The groomer himself didn't seem like he was experienced enough to deal with anything but a submissive lap dog. Bottom line - I know they didn't listen to me when I gave instructions for everyone's safety and best interest, the job was incomplete without me noting things, I was upcharged for an issue that I was upfront about and no one asked me exactly how to cut his hair. Too much went wrong for me to give this place another chance. read more

I came here because highly recommended. I have a 10 yr old pitbull who I usually bathe though wanted to get him his nails clipped so brought him here. I have been always scared to do this myself and he needed a good cleaning so let's see? Brought my puppy in for a haircut which took 4 hours which was already ridiculous then when I picked her up I noticed she kept squinting her right eye, not wanting to open it and pawing at it. I called the groomers to ask about it and they told me it's just a hair in the eye and to wash it. I washed it and waited a few hours and nothing changed so I brought her into the emergency vet. Turns out she has a corneal ulceration due to possible shampoo in the eye to burn a layer of her eye. She has to put ointment on her eye 3x a day for 5 days and wear a cone for 5 days. The vet cost me over $200. I called the groomers again after to let them know and the lady that answered the phone told me it was impossible because they use a shampoo that's safe to enter the eye and then told me she'd talk to the owner and proceeded to hang up on me and never calling me back. They did not take responsibility for what they did and chose to ignore it but hanging up on me. I even dm their Instagram account and was ignored. read more

I was very nervous to bring my 14 week-old Teddy Bear puppy to get groomed for the first time. When I went in I was welcomed by a group of very caring people who clearly love animals and I felt more comfortable. Mila, who is their puppy-point-person apparently, listened to my concerns and reassured me everything would turn out well. When I took my little girl out of her carrier and handed her to Mila, she was so sweet to her I knew they'd work well together. She finished sooner than the two hour predicted window and when I came to pick her up I literally said "Oh my God she's so cuuuuuutttee!!!" like a little kid. Perfect cut, smelled amazing and was a happy pup. Then shortly after we left, she peed in her carrier!!! Not exactly what I wanted for my freshly cleaned dog. I called them to see if I should just rinse her when I got home and they said "if you're not too far, just come back and we'll shampoo her again and rinse off her feet and bottom". I contacted a few, but Pampered Paws was able to take me on a Saturday after just emailing them Friday night. They asked if I could bring them at 4. I asked what time they closed because I knew my two wouldn't be a quick job. She said they'd be here till they were done with them. She was really nice on the phone, and in person. Very accommodating. They got done around 9 pm. And they didn't charge more than the initial quote, even though one of my huskies has a really thick coat, and is a JOB.
