I asked when he would return and they said don't worry about it the employees in the back can help you. Well, they could not help me at all and called the other employee a liar. I know what I talked about with them and walked out. I really can't afford to shop here so I'm writing this review about the service. I went in to get my watch battery changed. At $25, it was cheaper than the place in the Pentagon City Mall, which charged me $30 some time ago for a different watch. I left it overnight, they called me to let me know it was ready, and then when I went in they told me that the problem wasn't my battery but a defect in the watch itself, so I'm going to have to send it back to the company since it's under warranty. They didn't charge me a cent, even though they took the time to open it up and work on it. There's a lot of staff there waiting to assist people and when you walk in every single one of them smiles, wishes you good morning or afternoon or whatever, asks how they can help, provides directions. I wasn't even close to a big spender - the watch, which I got elsewhere, was around $150, not a small sum but pocket change compared to the price point on the items they have at Tiny Jewel Box - but they still treated me like a highly valued customer. The expanded space is beautiful. If I ended up having some (significant) extra money to spend on jewelry or really wanted to treat myself to something special after a promotion or achievement or something and could actually afford the price point, I wouldn't hesitate to come here. read more

Been working with Steve K for a year, each time we visit, speak on the phone, text or email, he's been very helpful and accommodating. When we come in the store, he and the entirety of the Tiny Jewel Box family have been very welcoming and helpful. We're never overwhelmed or not assisted to. I reached out to Steve K a few days before to see if he was available and if he could meet us. He responded immediately, and we set a time to meet. The last time I spoke to Steve K was 10 months prior where he picked up a random phone call I made to the store where I was seeking a bracelet extension for a watch I owned. Having no prior interaction with the store, he made me feel very welcome for an initial $100 purchase. At the same visit, I met several other staff and marveled at the watches they had. Every TJB staff member I spoke with had a genuine passion and spent time with me to discuss their timepiece and their story with it. I visited this store on September 30th 2023 to look at some jewelry and watches. First off, the location is great. Right in the heart of DC. Parking on Saturdays is about a block away at a garage, but if you show the staff at TJB your ticket, they will put some stamps on it and validate it for you so you can park for free. When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by both the friendly employees and the vast selections of jewelry. They have any kind of jewelry piece you can imagine. Gold, Diamonds, Sapphires, Rubies, Emeralds, and more. The gemstone selections are crazy. In the back ends of the store, they have their watches- Cartier, Jaeger- LeCoultre, IWC, Tudor, Rolex, and Patek. I looked at the Jaeger LeCoultre selection and was helped by Mark Clay who was very helpful. The selection is amazing. After that, I went to Patek. The selection is decent but all of the watches are for display only. Still some FANTASTIC pieces though. Then, I went to Rolex which was the worst part of the experience. You can't buy a watch at Rolex, but you can try them on. They will only be willing to "register your interest". The selection of the Rolexes are very nice and there are a lot of them except for the day dates. The sales associate was just OK. Nothing special about her and she had a slight attitude but I came in expecting that from Rolex. Anyways, I decided to get some gold rings and was helped by Beverly. She was INCREDIBLE!!!! Ask for her when you go. Also, they will offer you flat or sparkling water. Lastly, as I was checking out, I met the 3rd generation owner who was a pleasure to meet. Very nice man. I would definitely come back for the jewelry and the Jaeger LeCoultre watches. This place is a "jewel" in DC. read more

For 22 years, we've known we were going to make this purchase. What we didn't know is that we probably should have started searching 22 years ago. Instead, we waited until 2018 to begin looking for the Rolex watch that we would be gifting our son upon his college graduation. We began our search casually by stopping in a jewelry store while visiting Hawaii. We were told the Submariner we were looking for was in low supply and it could take years to find one. We then began searching in earnest. My husband travels extensively and we have friends who live in various countries around the world. We asked our friends to aid us in our search and they did. After 3 years, people had checked in Mexico, Saudi Arabia, England, France, Spain, and Morocco. Domestically, we had covered San Francisco, NYC, Dallas-Fort Worth, and several more. By March of 2022 we had pretty much given up getting this watch in time for my son's May graduation. I kept meaning to, but thought, "if all these high end "chain" jewelry stores around the world don't have it, how is a small, family owned business going to have it?" He didn't have one, but after meeting with us and determining the details of what we wanted, he assured us he would find one for us. Brian was the first jeweler who told us he would actively search for one - everyone else just told us to keep checking back. I cannot say enough about Tiny Jewel Box (TJB) and especially Alicia Arnold. Alicia previously restored an heirloom engagement ring for me thereby allowing my wife to be the 4th generation in her family to wear it. Thanks to the affordable cost of the restoration plus the money saved from not purchasing a brand new engagement ring, I was able to purchase a special watch for my wife as an engagement gift from TJB. The work on that ring was so impressive that we proceeded to purchase both of our wedding bands from Alicia. More recently (5 years later), I acquired another family heirloom that truly required a serious makeover. Alicia guided me in designing a gorgeous rose gold ring in 2017 that could accommodate a marquise cut diamond that had previously been purchased and set in the mid-1970's. The final product struck an amazing balance between traditional and understated AND youthful and fun... the project came in under my previously specified budget! I could not be happier with Tiny Jewel Box, and in particular, bridal consultant Jillian. They have a great selection and a very impressive in-house collection of jewelry. But what I was even more grateful for was Jillian's expertise, interest, and understanding while I navigated the (heretofore intimidating) engagement ring selection/design/purchasing process. Over the course of two efficient meetings, Jillian helped me choose an AMAZING ring that catered to exactly what I knew my (now fiance) would love, explaining the pros and cons of each. She was upfront about different styles, different gems, customization, and timelines. She wasn't shy to talk about cost either, and how it could be managed appropriately. (Worth noting-- she doesn't get paid on commission, and is all about finding the 'right' ring.) If you spend an afternoon touring a few of the diamond jewelry stores in DC and northern Virginia, you will quickly find that they are not all created equal. Some staffs are friendlier and more knowledgeable than others. Some remind you of used car salesmen. Few really stand out. Jillian was my favorite across the jewelry stores I visited, and I would point anyone looking to buy diamonds her way. She is attentive and works to develop a relationship with her clients. She keeps a detailed notebook with clients' preferences, and will turn to it every time you visit. She asks great questions, listens to what you're looking for, and knows when to offer an opinion without being pushy. She was a great sounding board, and helped me turn the vague ideas I had about what my fiancé would like into an actual ring. She also kept up with a barrage of questions about diamond color, cuts, and clarity, and gave me confidence that she was on my side in the hunt of a perfect diamond (rather than trying to sell me her inventory). I had some fairly specific requests for the type of diamond I was looking for, and she brought in three rounds of diamonds for me to look at. She also followed up promptly after visits, to send follow-up information or pictures, and to let me know when diamonds were ready to look at. Tiny Jewel Box is also a great place to shop. They have a top-notch selection of one-of-a-kind jewelry. Their designs stood out as truly distinctive and reflected a better workmanship. They also offer refreshments and snacks while you're there, which is a nice touch and a reminder of their client-focused approach.
