The sitting room is comfortable but needs to be vacuumed. My appointment started several minutes late, despite being the first of the day. I filled out a form with rings I wanted to try in advance and they had many of them available for me to try. The sales person that worked with me was very patient and helpful with suggestions! Brilliant Earth does not care about its customers. They just want your money, customer service be damned. We spent thousands of dollars on a ring that I got in Feb. It's now May and I've worn my ring maybe two weeks. Communication is terrible and frustrating, and they don't apologize. I went for a ring resizing. The employee didn't really do anything. I felt like it was left up to me to figure out if the size was correct. I wanted to keep the cutout from the ring, which is recommended in case you need to size up in the future. Any reputable jeweler will accommodate this. Their social media person said to call or use the chat feature. Why have Twitter if you can't answer a question? I used the chat feature and that person didn't know the answer. I ended up calling the corporate number and emailing someone from the local store; they both said it was not possible to get the cutout (which was already paid for). I tried to follow up on the status and return date. The person on the phone gave me a date that was later by a week than what I was told. You need to make an appointment for this, too. You can't just stop by the store. I finally got my ring back, but upon closer examination, I noticed that you could tell where they cut the ring because the width in the middle was thinner. I went to a local jeweler who said that you shouldn't be able to see where the cut was made, especially if it was just resized a half size down. The ring also apparently is not the same width around at the top, unrelated to the resizing. Why would BE send back shoddy workmanship? Is there no quality assurance process, or do they just not care? We reached out to Brilliant Earth to ask about this and sent photos. The person said to send it in. She did not say how, and she did not work in the middle of the work week, so add in additional time to wait for an answer in addition to her not answering promptly. It seems like work just doesn't get done in the time that the employee is off. Finally she sent a FedEx label at the end of the day, so the earliest we could send the ring was the next day. BE said they would recast the ring and quoted two weeks time. It's been over two weeks. They then said it would be ready Wed. (three weeks). Now they are saying NEXT Wed. (four weeks). Lastly, the advice an employee gave me on wearing the ring seems incorrect compared to what I've read from other jewelers. She said to wear the ring sleeping and in the shower. After the first appointment with Anaka it was really hard to get in touch with her and I actually had to just schedule an appointment online. I did put in full detail what I wanted to look at when booking but obviously no one read that though I booked it out 1-2 weeks in advance and I once again showed up to see diamonds I requested but they weren't pulled and she said she didn't have her notes after telling us on the first appointment not to take our own bc that was her job. 3rd time in I was hesitant but my partner has had her eye on this place for awhile so I was trying to be a sport and come in as many times as it took. I arrived and again none of the diamonds pulled were what we discussed but I wasn't with her this time but with kyler who was really pleasant and helpful when I showed him my inspiration pic. He did actually send his appointment notes to me as promised! I did schedule another appointment with him and requested diamonds with inclusions and light/blue hues. On my 4th appointment in it was re directed back to Anaka. I confirmed this appointment as I have all of them the week of. Got another confirmation 1 hour prior from Anaka. She then calls me 30 min out from the appointment tho I was driving so it went to voicemail to inform me that the diamonds never arrived. Since I had brought my partner with me this time to see the difference of what we'd looked at as options online I was a little embarrassed for also wasting her time. We looked at what Anaka did have available to see which one did have inclusions just not enough for my taste. All of this I can excuse but what I cannot believe or put up with any longer is the lack of communication when there is an issue or a wait with diamonds being sent or really any willingness to help at all with what is supposed to be a customized experience! Every time I come in it seems as tho I am annoying her with my request to see diamonds in person or she just doesn't have a clue as to what I want to look at though Its been discussed repeatedly and should be in her notes that she never has available. It has been 9 days since my last appointment I was told 5 days would be the max for diamonds to arrive. I reached out to Anaka 5days after the appointment when the diamonds should've arrived after not arriving the last time! I am 9days out from appointment 2 emails sent to Anaka herself and 1 to customer support and still no response back! We had a wonderful time at the showroom. We were able to look at the rings we wanted and everything. But they measured us incorrectly at the showroom. I even have an email with them listing the rings we wanted with the incorrect sizes. The rings arrived and they did not fit either of us (my fiancé and I). The first representative said we could exchange them both since we ordered the sizes based by a directive from one of their representatives. Then I got an email saying they could only do a resize. They don't allow any exchanges for same styles, only different styles (not listed anywhere on their website/policies). We didn't want any additional wear-and-tear on the rings before we even use them since the measuring wasn't our fault. The second representative said they could only do a resize despite their website saying an exchange could be performed for any reason (2nd sentence on their FAQ for returns and resizes. I called again and spoke to a third representative. She said she would have to talk to a manager since she couldn't figure it out. Her manager called me (the fourth representative now) and said they could only do a resize because it had to do "with their mission statement". I said to just change the resize into a return so we wouldn't have to deal with this anymore. She also said I could use the shipping label we got for the resize to return. Called a fifth representative to verify the return since it's been such a problem. Turns out they did NOT change my order to a return, it was still listed as a resize. She tried to convince me to do a resize instead despite me lining out all the ways the mistakes were by their own representatives. She ended the call warning me that because of my return, any further orders I put in would be INELIGIBLE for any exchanges in the future. The rings looked beautiful and the representatives in the showroom were wonderful, but the customer service refuses to do anything to take responsibility for the mistakes they made. read more

I had a great time visiting Brilliant Earth showroom in Georgetown in early February. Although the building looks posh from outside, you won't feel intimidated at all when you are inside. All the workers were so friendly and they were all up to the job. The showroom is pretty big and they have around 6 tables inside that can individually accommodate customers in a socially distanced manner. To start off, Olivia gave a short educational session on the diamond 4Cs which was very helpful because it was my first visit to a diamond store. I also figured from my visit that anything bigger than 0.75 ca looks way too bulky for my ring finger. Olivia was sweet and gave an honest opinion. I was happy to go outside my price range for a Brilliant Earth ring because of the exceptional service. Brilliant Earth also has so many really pretty settings on the website, so I would definitely suggest you to do your research right before visiting the store. For whatever reasons, I did not see that they have a 3 stones setting (Selene) so I came to see the Waverley setting in mind. Because appointments are very limited here so I had to wait around 2 weeks for a rebook (in store or virtual appt). While waiting, I decided to go to another store across the street that happens to have the setting I want. At this point, I only care about the setting and wouldn't worry too much about other things (where the diamonds are from, traceability, etc) since ring shopping takes a lot of time of my schedule so I just want to be done with it. If I had more time, I would certainly get my ring from Brilliant Earth. I would recommend this location for any soon to be bride or anyone who is looking to upgrade their rings! read more

I love my engagement ring especially as it is dainty but still impressive looking. 1 Star because both my engagement and wedding ring lost stones within a week of wear. My engagement ring has lost stones 3 times in the last year and a half. It takes about a month to get replaced so I did not have my engagement ring at my bachelorette party, wedding shower, or my first Christmas engagement. I did not have my wedding ring my first thanksgiving AND Christmas married. I was supposed to have it by my honeymoon, but didn't. Customer service has been fine and accommodating. The people on the phone are always super nice. But this last time picking up my wedding ring from being fixed was so annoying-- after a month, I made my pick up appointment. As I am walking in they call me to say my ring isn't there yet. So I didn't have my ring for my honeymoon. I sent an email to the head of customer relations, who helped me before, but only after I left a comment about my broken rings on their Instagram. She did not answer this time. If we could do it again, we would find somewhere else to go. Or I'd get a more plain ring. Either way I'd be sad. I just wish their products had durability and wouldn't break every could months. However, when we came back to buy our wedding bands, we had a HORRIBLE experience with the new staff at the DC location. I went from recommending this showroom to everyone that I knew to actively warning people to not come here. In summary, this showroom 1) failed to inform us of certain limitations to ring sizes, 2) made a suggestion to order a ring that couldn't be resized to "try out" even though it would be outside of the exchange window (we confirmed we could exchange it) and then gave us a hard time when it didn't fit and we tried to exchange it, 3) ORDERED A NEW RING AND CHARGED ME FOR IT WITHOUT EVER ASKING/CONFIRMING, 4) failed to ever return any of my phone calls (I still haven't heard from them months later), 5) claimed that I never returned a ring that I LEFT AT THE SHOWROOM WITH THEM, and 6) refunded the WRONG CREDIT CARD. This process started in February and wasn't resolved until AUGUST. I can't tell you how many times I left messages and pleaded with customer service to have someone from that showroom call me back. The one time someone did call me back, they called at closing and said they couldn't talk and would call me tomorrow - never heard back. I spent hours and hours trying to get this resolved. I eventually called the Bethesda location and it wasn't until I got ahold of their manager (who actually returned my phone calls) that I was able to get this resolved. I can't even explain how helpless it feels to spend thousands on a purchase and to have nothing to show for it and even worse, to have no one call you back or try to help here. If you are dead set on BE, go to the Bethesda location. But honestly, after my experience, I can't recommend BE with confidence. Getting there was an adorable store in Georgetown. It was the first time we had worked with a woman during this process and it was amazing. My partner had me fill out my preferences online ahead of time. They used this information I provided to *thoroughly* prepare for my appointment. When we met with our rep at Brilliant Earth, Jen, she had everything I had mentioned on my online preferences form. Everything. All she really did was basic listening skills it felt so validating. I was so happy I could have hugged her. All the other jewelers we had met with elsewhere either wanted to talk to my boyfriend or *at* us. It was the first time I felt like I had any say in the process which was amazing. On top of that, they took so much pride in their company and cause. They truly see the damage that the industry has done to communities around the world and are trying to actively change that. It was just a company we wanted to support. I came for the first time with 2 girl friends of mine and Hattie was so patient to not only show me all the rings but also answer and show rings to my friends. The second time I came with my SO (and a friend) and she once again was patient to help me make up my mind, showing me more settings and going through all the diamond options online. I finally settled on a beautiful lab-created diamond (SO and I are scientist so it's very fitting!) in a Waverly setting. Very disappointed! After seeing lots of ads and gorgeous engagement rings online my boyfriend and I had planned to make over an hour trip JUST to go visit there Bethesda location. No where on there website does it say u can't walk in and see jewelry like most other jewelry stores. They "recommend" an appointment but maybe should say if u wanna see more than 10 rings u should make an appointment. So once getting there no appointment or accommodation was offered since we were already there, just said we could come back another day With an appointment. Apparently this store isn't for me, I'm not potentially wasting other people's time to just look at jewelry. Long story short I am not going out of my way to go to this store no matter the customizations they offer. read more

I think Brilliant Earth's customer service model could be better. The fact you have to book an appointment in advance leaves no room for spontaneity and flexibility. This model also assumes that all customers want a long, personal experience. In my case, I mixed up my appointment date and was turned away -- even after driving half an hour to get there. It was frustrating because I had already done my research in advance and knew the five rings I wanted to try on so I would have been quick. But they only have one person in the showroom which was also another surprise. I assume I'm not the only bride-to-be who knows exactly what they're looking for and would prefer not to go through a long, sales journey/consultation. As a result, I just canceled my appointment and won't be returning. read more

We have purchased my engagement ring and my fiancés wedding band from brilliant earth. The customer service is always superb. Everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable. We had appointments with Tasha and Logan and our experience far exceeded what we expected. They carefully went trough all of our options and even had rings brought in for my fiancé to try as she wanted black diamonds. I'm excited for our next purchase and will be coming back! This company is a complete shit show. They told me my ring resizing would take two weeks and it has been a month and a half and I don't have the ring back yet. I didn't have my ring for my engagement party because of this ridiculousness. I've called four times and every time they say they will look into it and call me back and no one ever does. The number listed on google does not ring to the store directly but instead goes to some national call service. The lady at the call service told me that even she does not have direct contact info for the DC store and instead has to contact them via some chat app that they apparently never respond to. So the national call service is unable to confirm that brilliant earth even still HAS my ring. Not to mention that the only reason my ring had to be resized for the SECOND time was because the store clerk was rushing me through my first resize telling other customers she would be with them in two minutes and basically blowing off my questions regarding sizing. Sigh. I just feel like it's not that hard to meet my basic level of expectations regarding responsiveness and customer service and brilliant earth is failing across the board. Too bad we spent a ton of money already. We were initially going to buy our wedding bands here as welto keep it consistent but I can't imagine giving them more of my money at this point. UPDATE: this company called me shortly after I posted this review and had my ring delivered via private courier the following day. Consequently, I have upgraded my review to two stars. read more

we have a 2 o'clock appointment today, 3/29/2024. at 12 PM I received a text message "we look forward to seeing you at 2pm" we drove over 1 hour to get to the BaltImore location only to learn via email that our appointment had been canceled. we call customer service because I'm thinking that it is canceled by mistake. The store had been calling communicating several times a day about this appt. I'm on the phone with customer service 45 minutes not one manager would get on the phone to explain what happened in an hours time. in the meanwhile we are already at the location we saw several people come in and out, but yet they could not keep my appointment because they were understaffed. it is now time for the appt. and we are being asked to come back at 5 or reschedule for tomorrow.
