The back fell off of my watch and I brought it in to Henry's. They fixed it for free in about two minutes.

Had the batteries replaced in two inexpensive watches. One watch stopped running within a few weeks. Not going back.

On a stroll through Cady's Alley in Georgetown, we ended up inside Jewelers' Werk Galerie. From…read moreoutside this tiny store there is barely a hint of the dazzling treasures you will find inside. All of the extraordinary pieces of wearable art on offer here are stored in drawers. Opening each one means finding a slew of surprises from bracelets to earrings to necklaces and rings. The pieces range from whimsical to architectural. My friend and I couldn't stop gasping and saying to one another, "Look at THIS!" From lucite to rubber, silver, plastic and even flower petals, extraordinary pieces are crafted from rather ordinary materials. The results? Stunning! If ever you've sought an inimitable gift for someone special be it your mother, finacee, sister or wife, this is where you ought to be shopping. Never in one place have I seen so many exceptional and beautiful creations.

This store is the most consistently innovative jewelry store in all of the metropolitan area since…read moreit's opening. The jewelry is outstandingly varied and is priced from very high to very affordable. Do not forget to look in all the drawers -- great fun and full of treasures. The staff is fully knowledgeable about the jewelry and the jewelers. One staffer even helped me to find galleries that carried an artist I was looking for but they no longer carried. I cannot say enough about the jewelry, the staff, and the store. Gayle Monkkonen

This was my second time visiting The Phoenix. Very cute shop with a unique inventory. I was able to…read morefind a cute gift for my brother. I do agree with other reviews, the employees watch you as a hawk, but I just ignore them. The cashier was very nice and even offered to pack the gift, free of charge! I will the wrapping paper would have been Christmas colors instead of a bright yellow. Most items are on the expensive side. Still, I'll be returning... probably for Mother's Day.

Yet no one from The Phoenix has actually contacted me by email or social media, despite the store continuing to view my posts about what happened. Several brands carried by The Phoenix, meanwhile, have reached out to me directly because they do not want their names associated with this kind of customer experience. What is most troubling is that reviews describing racial profiling and discriminatory treatment at this store go back to 2016. That is a decade. At that point, this cannot reasonably be treated as an isolated misunderstanding or simply a customer "feeling this way." If The Phoenix has been aware of complaints like mine for years, what action has actually been taken? Were those customers contacted? Was the conduct investigated? Were policies changed? Was anyone held accountable? A public Yelp response offering to speak "if I'd like" is not initiative. After ten years of similar complaints, the burden should not be on customers who felt profiled or humiliated to pursue the business for a conversation. If these concerns are genuinely being taken seriously, that should be visible in the behavior of the business, not just in the wording of its review responses. -------- At 44, I have never experienced treatment like this in a retail store and I've never written a review, but this warranted one. Following a conference in Washington, D.C., I stopped into The Phoenix and asked to try on a ring. An associate was helping me when the manager, Bonnie, followed us over. When I reached toward the open case to indicate the ring I wanted to see, she reprimanded the associate in front of me, instructed her to lock the case, and made the interaction feel as though I were being treated as a theft risk rather than a customer. Being Latina, the experience felt like racial profiling. I cannot speak to intent, only to the effect: feeling watched, suspect, and unwelcome. Founder to founder, I also found the judgment behind the interaction striking. Much of my own work centers on brand, customer experience, and how businesses earn trust. In a multi-brand store, where customers can easily buy directly from the designers or elsewhere, this kind of treatment is especially short-sighted. Even before that interaction, the atmosphere felt unusual. Bonnie was having staff stand by while she tried on clothing, creating an environment that seemed centered more on the manager than the customer. On Women's Equality Day, the irony was difficult to miss. Women are not exempt from treating other women badly. We should expect better.

I'm really disappointed with our experience here…read more When we first walked in, we were greeted and initially assisted without any issues. However, once we sat down, things completely shifted. Our sales associate brought out two sets of ring options -- and then essentially disappeared. There was no walkthrough of metal options for men's or women's bands, no explanation of customization choices, and no guidance at all. We were just handed rings and left to figure it out ourselves. I kept having to ask, "Do you have more? Are there more options? Can I see more please?" It felt like pulling teeth just to see additional selections. At times, it genuinely felt like he was reluctant to show us more -- almost as if he just wanted to rush the process, get the order submitted, and move on. That's how it came across. What made it worse was noticing other couples being shown a much wider selection and having options thoroughly explained by their sales associates. They were being engaged with, educated, and guided through the process. We weren't even told additional options were available unless we specifically asked. The overall experience felt very cold and hands-off. I will say another associate kindly checked in on us and asked if we needed anything, which we appreciated -- and honestly, looking back, I wish we had accepted the help. But we wanted to give our assigned SA the opportunity to do his job. On top of that, everything had to be processed online, as they don't take payments in-store. We went ahead and placed our orders, but three hours later, we were still bothered by how disengaged and transactional the experience felt -- so we canceled. I'd rather spend my money somewhere that values customer experience, especially for something as meaningful as wedding rings. It's unfortunate because James Allen was always on my shortlist for wedding jewelry. After this experience -- and seeing similar reviews -- I won't be returning. I just hope the refund process is handled promptly.

This is my first time in a Pandora store period. Sure, I've heard of them but never went in one…read moreuntil now. I was trying to think of something to get my mom for for her milestone birthday (yes, all birthdays are milestones but you know what I mean). My sister got her theatre tickets, a day at the spa, dinner and a cruise. I guess she's trying to prove that she's the good one [insert eye roll]. Anyway, it didn't take long before Pandora popped into my mind. This location is not too far from my job so I went on a Friday after work. It was it was empty except for one other customer and then all of a sudden, it got crowded (the employees called it the Friday evening rush). Salesperson Shahgol assisted me and I think she did a great job. I was interested in getting a bracelet with a charm that had my mom's birthstone. She showed me an already created set called the Elegance Collection. I thought it was perfect and the additional birthstone charm when well with it. As luck would have it, there was a promotion in the store--if your purchase is at least $125 dollars, you get a free ring (value up to $65). Since my purchase was double, I got two rings. Shahgol said that I could give my mom the other ring. Umm, no--the bracelet is for mom, the rings are for me! I can't believe that it took me this long to go into Pandora. I think you could fine just about anything in here in terms of jewelry. The customer service was great. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to Pandora.
