I took my white gold rings here as they were desperately needing a resize, cleaning, and rhodium plating refresh. The rings were ready for me today as quoted and they look and fit amazing. They look brand new and you can't tell they were dramatically resized. My husband needs a new ring as his can't be resized and though the one he liked best can't be sized small enough for him, the gentleman who was helping us offered to call the manufacturer on Monday to see if special ordering at that size will be possible. Told me it was $15 then wanted to charge $25 so, I bought a 1.2mm screwdriver and a $6 button battery and did it myself.

I am not sure what to make of this place. My first experience was positive, I wanted to sell some gold and silver jewellery not used any more. I went in on a Monday afternoon the lady was very pleasant, weighed it, looked at it, gave me a price, asked for my ID. I didn't think I had it so decided to return the next morning. My ID was in my car the whole time! Returned this morning, Tues 21st Oct with my ID and some more gold jewellery I found. A very different experience that contradicted what the lady told me yesterday. The two women re-inspected my gold, gave some of it back to me telling it it wasn't gold. I challenged this, and she clarified that it wasn't a good percentage of gold, so I replied so it IS GOLD isn't it, you are telling me it ISN'T? she admitted it WAS gold. So, since this experience was so different from yesterday I am not sure I have trust here so removed my stuff and left. I will find somewhere else. I think being consistent instills trust in your customers. read more

I've been looking for a nice gold watch for some time now. I usually buy my watches from Nordstrom or Nordstrom rack. Idk why, but I've always pictured Jewelry stores as being overpriced. So I was shocked when I entered Silver Spring Jewelry. Not only by the prices, but also the selection and how friendly Ramon and his staff were. Big intimidating guy, in a full suit, selling diamonds, in a store that requires you to get buzzed in, you would expect something like Adam Sandler in Uncut Gems, but nope. Ramon was warm and affable. Really enjoyed talking with him and saw first hand what makes this store such a success. This store had a constant stream of customers coming in and out and I was a bit surprised. For such a small shop, how is it so busy in the middle of the day. Then I sat and observed. A man came in for a new watch battery. Walked out 10 minutes later and was only charged $5. A woman sold her old jewelry for a few hundred bucks, which was shocking as well because it seemed very reasonable. I was expecting a low ball offer which never came. Another repaired her bracelet for $10. A few people came in just to ask Ramon a couple of questions, which he seemed more than happy to the take time to answer. Then it hit me, these are all people who have been here before and really trust Ramon. Rarely do you find a place where the owner greets you at the door and stays with you as long as you need, even if they know you don't intend to buy anything. Ramon and his staff just love what they do and it draws people in. Ramon, you have my business forever my friend. TL;DR Not all jewelry stores are cash grabs. This one is definitely a staple of the community. Ramon and his team are all amazing and truly seem to care about everyone that walks through his door. I asked that my new watch, never worn, with the price tag still on, get A NEW BATTERY and BE SET FOR EXACT TIME AND DATE. THE JEWELER DID NOT SET MY WATCH correctly. He did however CHARGE ME $20.00. I asked a professional jeweler at The Watch Pocket in Silver Spring, Maryland to set it for me. The Watch Pocket jeweler set it correctly free of charge. I now think Silver Spring Jewelers wanted what they could take from my watch, a battery that probably worked, and watch information written in a language they want to understand since they neither understand English nor know how to set the time and date on a watch. ONLY GO IF YOU WANT TO EDUCATE THE STAFF IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE OR EDUCATE THE STAFF ON HOW TO TELL TIME OR EDUCATE THE STAFF ON SETTING THE DATE/TIME. This review is solely based on a recent experience I had trying to get something engraved. I had actually brought my item to things remembered and asked them if they could do it, whether or not the engraver wanted to even try, that's another story but they said they couldn't. Called silver spring jewelry and asked them if it would be possible, so they asked if I could bring it in so they could see. I brought it in around 2-3pm on a Saturday, the engraver checked my item and after some adjustments with their machine, everything was a go. I picked out my font, and they were able to get it done for me quickly as it was a late gift for Christmas. I left my item, picked it up before they closed at 6 and was on my merry way for only $15 for the engraving. May not have all the fonts you are looking for, but if they do, its a great deal and they're nice people read more

This place is the best. I have recommended that friends go here as well. When I got engaged I thought I wanted white gold, like everyone else I knew. However ,when my fiance, now husband, told me I was going to inherit a beautiful yellow gold family heirloom as my wedding band I wanted to engagement ring to match. They reset my stone in an exact replica of my white gold ring and I love it! It's so much warmer and romantic now in 14k yellow gold! When I told my girlfriend about this, she took in her delicate family heirloom ring as well and had them create a thicker less delicate replica in gold for her so that she could wear it without worries. Absolute, total, 100% thieves. I went to this "business" with a Peruvian Sterling and 18k Gold Bracelet to see what they would offer for it. After entering the store, a Hispanic man, who may or may not have been the owner "Ramon G" (who doesn't post his last name for reasons you will soon find out) asked me what he could do for me. I displayed the bracelet (which was a family heirloom, and in perfect condition) and set it on the counter. He immediately asked me if the clasp, which work flawlessly, needed repair. I responded that no I wanted to sell the item. He took the bracelet and went to a backroom for about 5 minutes. He returned and stated very quickly that the bracelet was gold plate and offered me $20 for it. In disgust I took the bracelet and walked out the door. I knew that even if the bracelet was only solid sterling it would be worth at least $50. I noticed that he seemed to flinch and seem rather disappointed that I didn't sell it to him. A few days later, I took the bracelet to another, reputable, establishment, who offered me $350 for the bracelet based on the fact that the Peruvian markings (which were made by men of honor) were in fact correct as they had determined after testing the piece. In case you are wondering I myself am a Hispanic male. There you have it folks...and people wonder why we are being scapegoated in this country. read more

I traded misc gold I had ranging from 8 - 22kt and as stated by the owner it was bought solely based on it's weight. I was desperately searching for some help with my Citizen Eco-Drive, Radio Controlled watch, a very complicated piece to set, and I was given first class treatment by one of the technicians. I wish I had gotten his name. He may be one of the owners for all I know! BUT...he was patient, refused any money, and worked with me for 15 min's plus to get the watch set. He even brought out his laptop and together we reviewed the instructional video. I was mighty impressed, particularly since I had just been to my "normal" watch maker, a few miles back near Four Corners, and the owner there had just shaken his head and said, sorry, he couldn't help; I'd just have to research the manual myself. I was quite pleased by the service that I received and the ease at which I was able to get a new battery. I was extra pleased that they stay open until 7p!!
