Wow! Amazing food in a quiet, unassuming locale. My wife took me out to Weston to tour the Holladay Distillery for my birthday. Upon asking the staff at the distillery their recommendation for lunch in town, they both responded immediately with the "Tin Kitchen". There was a 'Polish Pottery Festival' on Main Street so parking was a little tough, but we were able to get a spot and a table as soon as we walked in at 2pm on a Saturday. We always like to share items so we can sample more of the menu and started out with the Smothered Fries. A healthy portion of crispy fries, smothered in their homemade cheese sauce, with an even healthier portion of pulled pork (I honestly wish there was a higher fry:meat ratio). The individual tastes were incredible and was even better combined in one bite. It was also a nice opportunity to sample their 3 sauces. For our entree, we had the brisket with mac and cheese and 24-hour coleslaw. The brisket was so tender and flavorful and there is definitely some magic in that cole slaw. My wife is the mac and cheese fan and she said that she really enjoyed it. It will be tough to try any other restaurant any time I'm out in Weston! read more

My husband kept recommending this place and we waited outside for a seat to open (I kept thinking this better be worth it). Let me tell you, it is!! We ordered ribs, Mac n cheese, coleslaw, broccoli salad, fries, and pigs in a blanket. The ribs had the perfect amount of smoky flavor and just fell off the bone (we got the pepper flavor and the bbq sauce it came with should be sold by the bottle!). We came here after a moderate hike in need of some fuel. Staff came out masked to take our orders. They were very friendly. You can see that the serving size of the wedge salad is generous. It comes with a balsamic reduction and a dressing. I chose blue cheese. I don't eat much sugar in general but the dressing was a bit sweet for me. The meat was tasty but I did find both bbq sauces to be too sweet as well. The 24 hour slaw was different, it's a lighter dressing with again, more sugar. I appreciate them staying open during COVID and working so diligently to take serve us. This was my first stop on my most recent visit to Kansas. I had never been in before, but the smell from the street taunts you until you come inside (and I promise, it's absolutely worth it). It was a weekday for lunch and just about every table was full. Something that I love is that there are different BBQ sauces on the table for you to use. The option of being able to try the sauces without having to ask for all of them is so convenient. As this is a BBQ restaurant it was only appropriate that I went with the 2 meat platter (pulled pork and brisket). I chose the fries and broccoli salad as my sides. Everything was absolutely amazing! I got carry out since I was working and had the Green Chile Cheeseburger and honestly feel like it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. It was even better than the green Chile Cheeseburger I had in New Mexico, where it's a specialty. The burger also had some tasty pickled red onion which was a nice touch. The visit started rough but ended well. We were waiting at the front to put our name in and didn't get acknowledged and when we did the waitress with the king white hair went to the lady behind us first. If you make the day trip to Weston, Tin Kitchen is a great spot for lunch or dinner. They serve pretty decent KC style BBQ platters and sandwiches. They also serve locally produced alcohols from McCormick liquors (great cocktails!) and Weston Brewing Company beers. I had the brisket plate which comes with 2 sides. The slaw was simple but very tasty. The beans were above average. The brisket was super tender and practically fell apart on my fork. They have the interior arranged very well. Busy Saturday visit here and aside from a somewhat rude hostess/waitress, we enjoyed the wonderful food. The TK burger was a fun mix of deliciousness! The base was a locally sourced smash cheeseburger. On top was a generous pile of moist pulled pork topped with onion straws. She recommended the Mac & cheese describing it as very creamy with melted cheese on top; she was not wrong. It was delicious and creamy, but not overwhelming. I feel like I had five potatoes worth of fries and they were thin and crispy, just as I love. The brisket was delicious and the pulled pork was just as good. I tried the spicy BBQ sauce on top of my meat; it had zip, but wasn't hot to the point of making you sweat or at the expense of good taste. The food was presented very well and I fully intend on taking my wife to the Tin Kitchen when she comes to visit.
