    Brisket grilled cheese and fries

This place has great lunch specials and a great normal menu. Staff is friendly and there's lots of seating, booths and tables, and a Pepsi fountain machine. The inside also has a convenience store, restroom and bakery case filled with options. Outside there are gas pumps. I would rate it 5 stars, but prices are a bit in the high side considering that this is a convenience store eatery and portions on fries weren't great for almost $4 and drinks are over $3. My sandwich was about $12 and came with nothing, not sure if everything is al a cart like that or not, but it would be nice to have some combo deals with discounts. Around $20 for my food and drink was a bit much.

Went here again with lady friends. It was a bit busy but we got our food pretty fast for as busy as it was. I ordered the jalapeño popper grilled cheese. Yum, it was so good! The special was lobster rolls and I thought I might be disappointed ordering the grilled cheese, but I wasn't at all. Next time for sure, I will try lobster rolls when it's on special again.

Have been seeing multiple posts on Facebook of Captain's Corner. Definitely had it on my list of places to try. However, based on where we live in Kansas this would be a hefty drive. The other day we were in downtown KCMO, so figured we were about halfway there so it was time to make the drive and go to Captain's Corner. Glad we did. What an interesting place. Kind of in the middle of nowhere, but easy to find with the interesting outside displays and a parking lot full of cars. We got there around lunch time. Note: If you do get there during lunch, be prepared for a short wait, but still worth it. When you walk in there will probably be a line of people either waiting to order and waiting on their food. As a rookie we quickly figured out the process. Go up to the register and place your food order. There is a menu on the wall. The place is also a small market for campers and fisher people. There are probably a dozen tables and booths. We were going to eat there so place your order, tell them you are eating there, give them a name and grab a table and wait for your food to come out. Now, on to the food. We had heard some recommendations, so we got a cheeseburger and a tenderloin sandwich. The food was outstanding. The burger was delicious. Not sure what blend of beef they use, however it was delicious. On a good bun with your choice of cheeses. I can't say it is the best cheeseburger in the world, since I have not been to every restaurant, however it was the best cheeseburger I have every had. Looked to be about a 1/3 pound patty. You can get multiple patties, however one was more than adequate. We also got a tenderloin sandwich. Again, one of the best we have ever had. Almost forgot to get pictures, however, did get some although had already taken a bit. Got a side of fries. They were good. Will probably try a different side next time. All the staff there was friendly and helpful. It is a wonderful place. Just wished I live closer due to the drive; however, I will be going back. Make the drive, it is well worth it. Also, across the street is an ice cream parlor that you may want to check out.

So, so yummy! I loved my jalapeño popper burger. It's so rich and delicious. If you love cream cheese, it's great and not spicy. The burger is thick and juicy. Let me tell you how fantastic the desserts are! The apple pie is very delicious. And the bread pudding is such a big, delightful portion--my friends split it and absolutely loved it. Can't wait to come back! Oh, and don't miss out on the photo props outside.

I have a lot about this place. I made the drive to try it. It's located in a general store with a few gas pumps. Definitely has a lake vibe. The staff was welcoming and friendly. I wanted to try something unique to the restaurant. There really was nothing unique. The counter person said they were known for their hamburgers. So, I got the cowboy burger with the jalapeños on the side and a cup of water. The water cup was the only dissapointment. The cup was so small. I needed to take three trips during the meal to drink. The hamburger was better than I expected. I knew it would be good when took a little while for it to arrive. Means it is fresh and cooked to order. Next I had a slice of pecan pie. It was great as well. This did not come in a box from a store. Very nice. Take some time to enjoy this out of the way place.

These burgers are delicious! I ordered the spicy jalapeño burger and it had the perfect amount of kick. The sweet potato fries and onion rings were awesome and fried perfectly! There was a line to order when we got there but it moved quickly, and the service was fast and friendly! If you're in the area, this is a must stop!

We finally had the chance to stop by after hearing great things, and it did not disappoint! The burgers were massive and delicious, the fries were perfectly crispy, and our youngest loved the cookies. We'll definitely be back next time we're in the area!

I read reviews of this place having some of the best burgers - and it is true! Grabbed a to-go order as I was leaving town - and now I will need to go back. Burger was hot, juicy, and delicious. I got a single which was more than enough. They recommend their sweet potato fries, too. Dusted with a little slap your mama - they were some of the best I have had. Don't pass this place up for friendly service, great food, and good prices. Make sure to leave some room for ice cream across the street, too.

My sister and I came here for breakfast on our way out of town, and we're so glad we did. The staff was friendly, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was so fun. Lots of decor to look at!

I've been buying cows for about 11 years. I have 3 farmer buddies I buy from, and through them,…read moreI've used multiple butchers. I can confidently say that Paradise has been the worst butcher I've ever used. Is the product I received good? No. Did I receive everything I paid for? No. I've been buying through this specific farmer friend for about two years now. He decided to try out Paradise because they are closer to him, as opposed to driving several hours to the butcher we had used before. Well, this is where the nightmare began. He picked up the beef and delivered it to my house on a Saturday morning. He and I unloaded the truck while my wife loaded the freezer. Before he left, he told me to take the receipt and double-check that we weren't missing anything. The receipt ended up in one of the boxes used for delivery, so I didn't check it right away. We didn't look for it until Monday and by that time our farmer had already left for vacation. Once he got back, he sent me a picture of the receipt, and we went through our beef. To our dismay, we discovered that we were missing all 24 steaks and one roast. As soon as I realized this, I let my friend know, and he immediately notified Paradise. That's when the headache began. They told him to have us count again, make a list of everything we are missing, and contact them with the list. My wife called them, as they had asked, and their response was, "Well, we don't have it, so your farmer must have taken it." My wife was pretty shocked at this point because we had done everything they asked, yet their immediate response was to dismiss the situation and basically accuse our farmer of stealing the steaks. I contacted my friend and he called the manager to let them know we were less than impressed with the customer service at this point. They apologized and said they would help resolve the issue. Well, that turned out to be a lie, as they never returned a call to my friend until he threatened to get his lawyer involved. By this point, we had cooked our first batch of ground beef and it was a disappointment. In 11 years of buying beef, I've never received such low-quality hamburger before. Normally the hamburger I've received has been 90/10, maybe 85/15. This junk is 70/30 at best! We cooked 4 lbs of beef and drained over a pound of fat. It was so bad that we had to drain it twice because it wouldn't cook properly-it was literally being boiled in the fat. My other concern is that if they added an extra 15% of fat to the hamburger, shouldn't I have more packages of beef than usual? I can tell you I have no more than I've ever had when buying from other places. Well, they finally called my friend back, and he informed them that not only was I missing meat, but the quality was also sub-par. He told them they needed to figure out how to reimburse me for both the missing items and the poor quality ground beef. The manager said, "give me until Monday and I will call you back." Once again, that turned out to be a lie, as we haven't been able to reach them on the phone again. I was never asking for all my money back, or for them to substitute for the missing product; I just wanted a refund for the items I never received and a portion for the terrible hamburger. My recommendation to others at this point is to look somewhere else for a butcher, as Paradise's customer service is terrible. You might never hear back from them, the meat quality is poor, and you might not even receive your full order! My question is: Where did my missing steaks go, where is the extra hamburger, and for goodness sake, where's your phone?
