Their restaurant week menu motivated me to drive up north and try this place. Started with the spicy margarita with a Taheen rim, wasn't spicy at all unfortunately. Chose the Caesar salad, crabcake, Cioppino, and chocolate mousse cake for my courses. Everything was exceptional! Crabcake was flaky and full of crab, lots of Parmesan shavings in my salad & so much seafood in my stew. I took most of my Cioppino & the entire dessert home bc I was too full. This should be a stop for all if you are near Smithville.

Grabbed brunch during restaurant week at Aroma. We had a reservation, so we were seated right away, but it was very busy on a Sunday at 12:30. We ordered from the restaurant week menu, and then it took about 30 minutes for our food to come. I got the breakfast quesadilla. It was good, and a GIANT portion! The potatoes were cooked perfectly. I got the crème brûlée for dessert - it was also very large. Service was kind. If you're looking for large portions of decent food, this is a good option.

Cute place. Me and some friends came here for lunch after goat cuddling. We got waited on right away. Food came out fast which was good. I was starving. I ordered the turkey brie sandwich. Full of flavor. I think the chipotle berry sauce was a great addition to the sandwich. Had fries with it. Nice and crispy on the outside. I'd love to come here again and try different things because I like the selections on the menu.

Great salads and my bacon avocado BLT was excellent. The steak and Brussel sprout salad was one if the best salads my husband, had eaten in a very long time.

We arrived right on time for our 6:30 reservation after driving 45 minutes. The young man hosting checked us in and then came back to ask if we could wait a few minutes and we said of course but then looking around noticed several empty tables and 2 larger full tables, we were party of 5. I asked to clarify how long we would be waiting and he said 20 minutes, waiting for one of the bigger tables to leave. I suggested that they push a 2 top and 4 top together, he said no. I asked very politely to speak with a manager or owner and was told they were to busy. This seemed crazy. Finally a server came over and asked if we would be ok adding a seat to end of 4 top which we were. (Spoiler alert, the table he was asking us to wait for didn't get cleared until 7:15 pm, so we would have been waiting 45 minutes past our reservation time while other tables sat empty. Jocelyn was was the server and she was amazing. Now for the review: Ambiance- cute but so bright, they should invest in dimmers. Drinks- we all thought our cocktails were great but we did wait a long time for them. The bartender brought them out and was very nice but seemed very over extended. The water tastes pretty bad but a lemon wedge fixed it fine. Food- all of the food was very good!! I had the plobano chicken, we shared onion rings and queso. We ordered strawberry tres leches and bread pudding for dessert. They put a candle in the bread pudding because it was my birthday but they did not comp it, not that I expected that but it is obviously not unusual and given the way our evening started I might have expected some recovery action. Overall, the food is great. Jocelyn was great. Would I drive 45 minutes to go here? No. Our bill for party of 5 was $250. You might think the owner or manager might have come out to apologize for the reservation mess and attitude of the host, he got very snippy with us.

Location: Smithville Missouri Ambiance: indoor seating. Family place. More lunch and dinner than breakfast. Food: delicious. Burger had a sweet mayo sauce that is a MUST if you go there it is the chipotle aioli. Turkey sandwich was also great. The price is excellent. They put a Mexican touch to everything, which is awsome. Service: outstanding

This place is a must!!!!! I had a hard time picking from the menu. Everything sounded so amazing. Large portions and amazing taste. Service was excellent. I was very impressed. I will for sure go back. I would like to try their lunch and or dinner.

Chilaquiles poblanos. We had potatoes in lieu of the eggs, but that filet!! That sauce!! The queso appetizer!! Always delicious!!

This restaurant is a gem and Chef Longres brings a dining experience that only few in the KC area can bring. Him and his staff's attention to detail, outstanding service, on top of incredible food should bring every Michelin Star, DiRona award, and James Beard award. You'll find very few restaurants in Kansas City that bring this quality, enthusiasm, and detail. The Hearth Experience elevates it even further. It was great seeing the same staff in the open concept, French Brigade kitchen after a year plus. You've got to be doing things great in this difficult industry to maintain that staff dedication. Plus on top of this Chef Longres is always keeping an eye out for kids and brings them back into the kitchen for a truly personal experience. They just don't make restauranteurs/chefs like that anymore. This place is well worth every penny. Had another phenomenal dinner and experience!

And it's further afield than we normally do for date night so it felt like a choice he wouldn't expect, which is how we roll. We arrived at about 6:30 on a Friday and it was pleasantly full but not crazy. I had reservations, obviously. The staff had all signed a nice postcard on the table to note his birthday. After we put in our drink order (he got an old-fashioned and I got a Dr Pepper, since I was driving), our server brought over two bottles of Prosecco, one being NA since she wasn't sure if I drank or not, and offered us a toast for his birthday. I thought it was a nice gesture. They ask that you put in your full order at the top of the meal so they can pace it properly. We started with the whipped goat cheese with brussels sprouts and fried saltines. An interesting dish and fun to see saltines reimagined as something high-end. He got their gigantic pork chop and I got a perfectly cooked and delicious KC strip with the creamiest mashed potatoes. I saw half butter and half cream and I thought, that's for me! Lol. That wasn't a cheap entree, but it did include a sauce (I got béarnaise) and a choice of side. I took more than half of my meal home. At that point, she brought out the dessert menu and Kyle decided on the flourless chocolate cake, which is one of his favorites, but that he often doesn't get at a restaurant because so many restaurants buy their stuff from Sysco now. And holy cow, it's the best dessert I've had in ages! A great reminder of how good a flourless chocolate cake can be. Anyway, I definitely would recommend Acre. They did a great job of making my fiance feel really special and just generally had terrific service and wonderful elevated food. Helpful hint: there is a $25pp no show fee on reservations, so be aware of that, and cancel at least 24 hours out if you think you might need to.

We arrived a few minutes before our 6pm reservation and were seated. At exactly 6pm, our server, Chris, started with our choice of hors d'oeuvres. Either a potato and fresh vegetable soup, or shrimp cocktail. My wife had the shrimp, and I had the soup. Both were outstanding. For dinner, I had the lamb, and my wife had the filet mignon. Both came with potatoes, carrots and a roll. Again, both meals were outstanding. We finished with a dessert trio that was amazing. Besides the fantastic meal, the service was first class, and the ambiance was really special. This is a must visit for an amazing meal. Call today and get your reservations.

My wings had chewy rubbery skin and just barely cooked. Fried pickles were lukewarm and breading was stale. Since they were busy, I opted for the self serve beer, but kept running into multiple empty kegs and getting charged for foam - requiring adjusting my tab. Second time. Not busy at all, but still took 20-minutes for our inattentive server to take our drink order. Took 15-minutes to get a beer and they never brought a menu. By then, I was absolutely not eating and ready to leave. Took another 30-minutes to get my check. My group stayed to drink and flirt with the server. Third time. Not busy, yet very slow (and unprofessional) service. I ordered a salad because I figured it's hard to mess up a salad. It was good. (Incidentally, I sampled one of my friend's wings to test whether my first experience was the norm or a really bad day. The wings were ok. Definitely had better but they weren't disgusting like my first trip.) Also had a beer. It took a very long time to get our order and the server rarely checked on the table (but they had time to shoot the breeze with coworkers). I tipped well-above what I felt they deserved because servers rely on tips; however, I cannot recommend this place. I get the sense that the owners are good people and the servers are friendly when you finally get to talk to them. I'd say they need more training. Not sure how long they've been around, but I'm amazed they're still in business.
