If there were a six star rating, this dining experience would deserve it! On a quick trip to St. Joe to visit their unique museums, my son stumbled upon the JC Wyatt house through a restaurant search. I'm so glad he did. I was unsure of what to expect. You will need to have a reservation. You are required to select your entre ahead of time. Bring in your own wine as no alcohol is served there. An unusual restaurant choice turned into a wonderful dining experience. We were treated like we were their most valued patrons. The food was outstanding! The house is fascinating. And I honestly can't think of a single bad thing. Thank you for one of my best dining experiences ever! Visit St. Joseph MO and do not miss this lovely restaurant . JC Wyatt House you were quite a treat!!

Oh so good! Planned a going away lunch for a good friend and coworker. We had a group of 9 who I had some difficulty wrangling a pre order out of, but once the order was submitted via e-mail to Jim, I received a confirmation later that evening and we were set for lunch two days out. Everyone was awed at the interior of the home. A real labor of love to have such a complete Victorian atmosphere and keep it so neat and clean. Dust and neglect is a big turnoff in any restaurant experience, but I challenge you to find any here! Our lunches consisted of various salads; Roasted Salmon, Shrimp Salad on Croissant, Chicken Salad with Spinach and Feta Quiché, and the Mandarin Chicken Entree salad were big winners. I had the Beef and Blue cheese entree salad. Amazing! Dried cherries, glazed walnuts, mixed greens and perfectly cooked beef slices complemented with blue cheese, Magnifiqué! Everyone gushed about their lunches and were soon attracted to the marvelous aroma of their house coffee. Hands down, the best, balanced coffee I have ever had in a restaurant. But the pièce de résistance was the dessert trio! The dark chocolate pudding, the light lemon cupcake, and cheesecake mousse... too much. The most decadent lunch we as a group have ever experienced, and all for around $15.00 each. The biggest challenge is getting your group to decide in advance for an outing like this, but once you have "trained" them, there is no delay on getting people on board for next time.

Found this looking for a unique place to celebrate my sister's 65th Birthday. It was everything we possibly could have hoped for! As indicated on the webpage, we made our reservation two days in advance and pre-ordered our meals. From the moment we arrived, we felt like honored guests as the host Jim took our coats to hang up for us and escorted us into a charming room at the front. There was a larger party in the room in the back, but we had our area to ourselves for our lunch. Service was impeccable, and the food delightful. We had the salmon, the apple cider chicken, and the quiche with chicken salad. All so delicious! The dessert trio was yummy from the baked chocolate mousse to the mint Chocolate cheesecake and the filled cupcake. More than I could finish. We enjoyed visiting with Jim also. He was very personable, and while I fill that if we had wanted just a quiet service, that would have been fine, he was very happy to fill us in on the history of the beautiful historic mansion he has personally restored. As we are all history buffs, we enjoyed this aspect of the experience immensely. We are already looking for reasons to return to experience the evening meal in this previously unsuspected gem!

Parade of Hearts brought us into St Joe. We were hungry and saw the reviews. We love places like…read morethis...what could go wrong?!?!? Well let me start off with the fact they are over an hour away from our home. Considering they have ruined us on any and all other burger and fries, it might become a habit. Husband had the Blackberry Bacon and Blue Cheese Burger. I do not on the norm like blackberries, but on this!!!! The blackberries sweetness stands against the strong overpowering blue cheese and they meld well to make a wonderful tasting combo. I ordered There Goes My Gryo.....how did they get a freaking lamb burger, a very lean meat be that juicy!?!? I dont know but with the peppers, tomato and onion made a fresh hamburger, might be good with some kalamata olive....but I am not complaining. It was delicious. I am picky on my fries and usually dont eat the full amount restaurants serve. I had to stop myself. They are more like a shoestring but not hard or crunchy. Seasoned wonderfully! My suggestion you go in there with a big appetite, grab lots of napkins and be ready to devour the best burger you've ever had!

Placed order within 2-3 minutes of walking in. Sat down at the bar and waited. The place looked well kept and fairly busy for a Thursday afternoon. Meal was ready in less than 10 minutes and it was delicious. I would say that they are higher priced, but the portion size for the price is solid. Personally little heavy for lunch, but I might try something else little lighter next time or just come in for dinner and try a shake because they look good also! What I ordered this time was delicious and I will be back and refer! Thank you!

I never should have listened to those who are not fans. My husband got 4 twisteds--2 chicken and one of each of the other flavors. They were all so good. And the fresh fried chips were delicious too. I got the fried swai. My husband is not a fan of fish but he kept stealing bites off my plate, it was that good. The batter was light and crisp. And the portion was huge. I LOVED the honey mustard coleslaw. I'm a slaw snob, and I have high standards. I look forward to eating the slaw again. The garlic Parmesan broccoli was good too. We will be back.

All their food is named after musicians. I had the Hank Williams hamburger, with spicy bacon jam, Cheddar cheese, and a couple of fried onion. The burger was delicious, the bacon jam not overly spicy for me but worked well. Great burger. Came with seasoned fries, also quite good. They brew some of their own beer, which both my friends and I thought they still had a little ways to go to perfect that. I had their Irish Stout which wasn't bad. A little more bitter than Guinness but ok. Definitely great food for a bar, and their craft beer will get there soon. Parking is around back.

When we arrived, however, there were only 2 staff on duty, a bartender and a cook. Nonetheless, the bartender and I moved tables and got ready for up to 15. 18 arrived, and the barkeep added a table. He indicated more than once that NO ONE had prepared him for us or even mentioned our reservation. Service was slow, as you can imagine, food arrived over a period of 30 minutes, and several of our group were unhappy but I detailed the situation to them and mentioned that it was not the bartender/server's fault. the food was good, in almost everyone's estimation. Obviously the cook knew what HE was doing. I tried to get everyone back in there again for about a year before they all said ok, and we scheduled again, 2 or 3 weeks before our visit. when we arrived it was the same story. I asked to speak to the manager or owner, but neither was there. later, I attempted to find the owner's name to discuss this nicely with them, as I have been in business management since 1974, and understand the demands and that owners would always like to know if things aren't right in their absence. After research, I was told the owner listed in the current, 2023, city directory was gone and a new owner had it. In any case, we polled the group and decided to take our group of 16 elsewhere. I noticed we constituted about a 100% increase in lunch attendance from what I saw, and our tab that day at a similar business exceeded $ 225. That's a lot to lose on inefficient communication! I doubt I can convince that gang to try them again, but I liked the food. Maybe I'll get it from Grubhub next time because this is ridiculous. If you have more than 6 for lunch there, keep moving....
