I took my fiance to Acre in Parkville for his birthday. It's been incredibly buzzy, and the chef has worked at seemingly every famous restaurant you've ever heard of, such as Alinea, French Laundry, and Le Bernadin, to name a few. And it's further afield than we normally do for date night so it felt like a choice he wouldn't expect, which is how we roll. We arrived at about 6:30 on a Friday and it was pleasantly full but not crazy. I had reservations, obviously. The staff had all signed a nice postcard on the table to note his birthday. After we put in our drink order (he got an old-fashioned and I got a Dr Pepper, since I was driving), our server brought over two bottles of Prosecco, one being NA since she wasn't sure if I drank or not, and offered us a toast for his birthday. I thought it was a nice gesture. They ask that you put in your full order at the top of the meal so they can pace it properly. We started with the whipped goat cheese with brussels sprouts and fried saltines. An interesting dish and fun to see saltines reimagined as something high-end. He got their gigantic pork chop and I got a perfectly cooked and delicious KC strip with the creamiest mashed potatoes. I saw half butter and half cream and I thought, that's for me! Lol. That wasn't a cheap entree, but it did include a sauce (I got béarnaise) and a choice of side. I took more than half of my meal home. At that point, she brought out the dessert menu and Kyle decided on the flourless chocolate cake, which is one of his favorites, but that he often doesn't get at a restaurant because so many restaurants buy their stuff from Sysco now. And holy cow, it's the best dessert I've had in ages! A great reminder of how good a flourless chocolate cake can be. Anyway, I definitely would recommend Acre. They did a great job of making my fiance feel really special and just generally had terrific service and wonderful elevated food. Helpful hint: there is a $25pp no show fee on reservations, so be aware of that, and cancel at least 24 hours out if you think you might need to. read more

TLDR: Dry-aged steak was FANTASTIC; sides and starters were ok to good. We were we were at Antler Room (SO GOOD) the night before and already discussing where to go the following night (as we often do). We were both craving a goood steak, so we asked our server where he thought they had the best steak in the city and he recommended Acre--so here we are. We got the 45 oz tomahawk ribeye--bc we both think the ribeye is just the best cut of steak (and also the worst for your body). They bring out what you'll be eating before they cook it, btw. It was a thing of beauty! Not gonna lie, the steak took a while to be served, but it was totally worth the wait bc it was PERFECTLY cooked. Tender, juicy, charred to perfection... our only regret is that we didn't get a tomahawk each. Now, before the meaty goodness came out we ordered the warm parker house rolls, and the black truffle fries (yes, we splurged with the fries). The fries were phenomenal! They shaved the black truffle before your eyes... I mean, what isn't good with a heaping mound of black truffles?! The fries were piping hot and delicious. The house rolls were only OK. With the steak, we ordered the side of broccoli with aged Gouda mousse. We both didn't care for the Gouda mousse and wished we had asked for it to be on the side. We would definitely drive the 20 minutes from the city just to eat at Acre again. And trust me, this time we will not be messing around with starters or sides, we will be there for our personal tomahawks (and a glass of wine)! read more

We'd been out of town for a bit and couldn't wait to get back to Acre -- this time to try their new Grazing Menu, a three-course surprise menu ($75, served Tuesday-Thursday). As promised, three courses built around the best of the season -- and it delivered from start to finish. Dinner began with a surprise amuse-bouche -- a hush puppy that was piping hot, crisp on the outside, and soft inside. Not your average hush puppy -- this one was rich and buttery, the kind that makes you pause after the first bite. First Course: Blue Cheese Soufflé with garlic crostinis. As a lifelong blue cheese fan, this was my idea of comfort food. Warm, creamy, and full of flavor. The portion was generous -- easily enough for two -- so we brought half home to enjoy later. If I had one suggestion, a slightly smaller serving might make it even better. Second Course: Roasted Roulade of Duck Breast -- one Mallard, one Muscovy. Both were perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The difference between the two varieties was distinct -- one a bit deeper and gamier, the other more subtle and tender. The portion size surprised me -- far larger than most restaurants would serve. Acre always delivers great food, but the presentation and execution here were exceptional. Third Course: Panna Cotta (goat cheese, whipped cherry meringue). A light and clever finish to the meal. The goat cheese gave it just enough tang to balance the sweetness of the cherry meringue. It hit all the right notes -- simple, elegant, and satisfying. We also decided to branch out from our usual cocktails and tried three new ones we'd spotted on Acre's Instagram: * Pear After Dark (gin, spiced pear liqueur) -- bright and clean, with a subtle pear note. * Butter Proof Sour (brown butter-washed whiskey) -- rich, smooth, and a little dangerous. * Falling Leaves Latte (vodka, pumpkin spice liqueur) -- fall in a glass, not overly sweet, just really well done. Each drink was creative and beautifully balanced -- clearly made by people who love what they do. Another outstanding night at Acre. The new Grazing Menu is a fun addition -- seasonal, generous, and a great value for the quality. Highly recommend giving it a try before the menu changes again. read more

Not my first time and it's always amazing! Definitely in my top 5 restaurants in KC. They certainly have unreasonable hospitality", they have a team approach for the tables, and service is excellent!! We also received an explanation of the handmade grill and the method of grilling, smoking, ... that made this visit even more special. Emmanuel was our waiter and he did a fantastic job, very polite, professional and attentive. We will be back again soon! Thank you Acre!, Keep doing what you're doing! read more

My lawd! Dinner at @acre_kc was phenomenal! We got a reservation at 6pm and the restaurant was almost empty... by the time we left at 8:30 it was packed! Our waitress, Kate, was knowledgeable, kind and is clearly dedicated to the restaurant- having been there three years. I got a festive holiday mocktail, and then we split the beef tartare. Every plate that was brought out from the kitchen to other tables had our mouths watering. My friend had the fairytale pumpkin soup. Check out the video for the presentation! For entrees we got the half chicken and the wood fired sirloin with carrots and chimichurri. The portions were generous so we both took leftovers home. Yum! The drive to Parkville was not bad and parking was easy to find. They were very accommodating of my dietary restrictions. Will add this to my list of places to revisit! read more

Acre in Parkville is truly our favorite restaurant experience. We love the thoughtful farm-to-table concept and the way the menu changes with the seasons, from the cocktails to the food, everything feels fresh, intentional, and beautifully crafted. The atmosphere is the perfect balance of sleek and cozy, making it a place where we always feel comfortable in. Their private patio is perfect when the weather cooperates. The service is consistently outstanding, attentive without ever feeling rushed. Acre is a go-to for us, and every visit is reliably exceptional. read more

Packed restaurant on a Friday night - definitely get a reservation! Our server gave some great recs and was quite attentive. We ordered the beef tartare, rabbit pasta, trout, and fried chicken. I'm not a huge fan of tartare but my friend enjoyed it. Everything else I would order again without hesitation. Great flavors. Bigger portions than expected so we had leftovers! For dessert we had a chocolate cremiux. It was very rich and had great balance of textures. Perfect for chocolate lovers! Overall, great date night spot and delicious food with good value portions for the price! read more

Every time we come here it's magical. Fro The chef counter with curative bites, to the patio enjoying some of the best fried chicken, to last time which was my brother's 21st! The steak was amazing (had the 16oz ribeye) the duck was great (a little overcooked for our taste) but flavorful and we love a pickled cherry! The special prawn pasta had good flavor but the pasta was about 1min out from being cooked well..a little crunchy instead of al dente. The wine is amazing, had a great recommendation (hint, it's the most expensive glass for a reason, get it) and the bar was doing wonders with the cocktail list this season (chili oil and dill?? Fantastic choices) Never a disappointment. read more

Fantastic atmosphere, service and food. The staff here does a great job with their attention to hospitality. This place is expensive but definitely worth a visit. We've visited multiple times and have enjoyed every meal. The steak is excellent!

...oops, this one is almost a year late...my bad :P Fingers crossed I can remember enough - but lets just say it was a wonderful anniversary dinner. Chef's counter is always a fun time for us (especially with a set menu) as it make boyfriend actually trying things he wouldn't. i.e. The Beef Tartare. Which I loved and he was kind of ambivalent about! He loved the hush puppies as they had a wonderful kick to it that we always enjoy. The Cappelletti with the braised rabbit was such surprise as we both aren't the biggest fans of rabbit...but it tasted so amazing. And the beef...so good and being able to watch them cooked over the fire...amazing. It was great to learn about the food and process from the Chef/Owner but also to talk to the various Sous Chefs. Look its totally worth the cost for the chef's counter - you get amazing food, great conversation, and a show! Especially for any special occasions...or you know...you just wanna have a wonderful meal and a great time! read more

I had the pleasure of going out on a date with my husband at this lovely restaurant. When we arrived, they were completely full and only had a few spots open at the bar. I'm glad we sat at the bar because our server Angel was exceptional. He was very knowledgeable with the menu and crafted tasty drinks for us. We ordered the American Wagu Tartare. This was a delightful dish. It was a but heavy on the mustard, but if you pair, it was the pickled cabbage and capers all the flavors balance perfectly. We were able to try the house made ricotta cappelletti, and this creation was delicious. The braised rabbit and mousseline paired perfectly together. The dish came with four pieces, and each piece was so rich with flavor that was all we needed. My husband ordered 45-Day Dry Aged Ribeye. Loved it. I ordered the 8oz dry-aged agnus burger. This was cooked perfectly. I ordered this because the menu started it had a red-onion marmalade (which was perfect). I didn't notice it had spicy aioli, which overpowered the entire burger. Honesty, it didn't need the aioli (my taste buds couldn't handle it). This was a pleasant experience, and we will be going back again. read more

We went to Acre yesterday with my husband for a date night. When you walk in a smoke welcomed you which at first we appreciated it, it gave log cabin vibes but later I realize my hair and my clothing smells like I sit next to campfire... I have ordered the slow blossom cocktail and it was amazing. Sweet and sour as our server described. My husband got old fashioned and he thought it was just average. We ordered beef tartare to start with and wow. All you can taste is spicy mustard, it's like eating spoonful of wasabi. Even thought we have mentioned this to our server we did not received any offer to replace it or compensation at the end of our meal. We ordered housemade ricotta cappalletti and that was the best dish! Although the portion was a bit on smaller side it tasted amazing!! We also ordered roasted campo lingo hen - it was good but not amazing. The proportions were off. We got full chicken breast and full leg with 2 pieces of broccolini and maybe like 2tbs mashed potatoes disappearing under chicken leg tasting just okay. For desert we got dark chocolate crème- overall very good. Needed just a bit more or raspberry ice cream( not sure if it was ice cream or gelato or sorbet). Overall I don't think it was worth going back and price tag. I found staters list short and not much variety. Wanted to recommend other carb/cracker options for starters. Goat cheese whip sounded amazing but why would I want fried saltine crackers with it?? Beef tartare came with these seed lavosh that was more like very salty thin crackers. I didn't get it. Additionally - the air conditioning was very aggressive. It was keep blowing right on top of us alternating between cold and hot. Was disruptive. read more

I want to give 5 stars here's why I didn't. I made a reservation,i arrived on time, only 2 other tables at the time Occupied, and the host tried to sit me at a 2 top basically in front of host stand and front door ! If I wanted the absolute worst table in the restaurant, I wouldn't have bothered with the reservation! Second, I find the price point for an average night out simply too high. So definitely just a special occasion place. 3rd, don't wear anything that needs to be dry cleaned. I had to immediately throw our clothes in the wash and jump in the shower to wash the smoke smell off . That being said, food was tasty, and I actually found the portions to be generous to the point I should have ordered less. I often find these kind the establishments,You need several courses, and that's not the case here, which was refreshing but had i known before over ordering. read more

Where to even begin...Acre is by far one of the best restaurants in the KC area, including food, drink, ambiance and service. Acre is our go to restaurant for a nice weekend dinner or somewhere special to bring our out of town guests. For those south of the river, definitely worth the trip up north. For this dinner we started with a round of drinks, with a great selection from their new Autumn menu. Appetizers included the spring greens salad, house-made Parker rolls with the delicious sorghum-smoked chili butter, and of course the OG ricotta cappelletti with rabbit (how is it possible for a dish to be this good?!). For our main, the piece de resistance was the 21-day bone-in ribeye for 2. Cooked medium rare and to absolute perfection, this baby is absolutely a treat for anyone who is a meat lover. They show you the cut of meat before they cook so that you can see all that beautiful marbling, then they show you after cooking before they let it rest and it continues to have a little bath in that delicious butter. Our sides included the silky smooth puréed potatoes and the heirloom tomatoes, both great additions to the steak without overpowering. For dessert we ended with the peach cake and of course after dinner drinks. 5/5 review, highly recommend to anyone and all who are looking for a truly fabulous restaurant. With subtle homage to it's predecessor, Bluestem, this place is a gem. read more

We came to acre for our anniversary dinner. The restaurant is modern and clean with an open kitchen concept. Parking wasnt a problem for us here. When you walk in, the entire restaurant has a nice smoke smell which I thought added a cozy ambiance. Our service was impeccable, we had a friendly waitress who was honest and gave us a walkthrough of the Acre concept and experience. This is a farm to table concept and everything seems to be made in-house. She was attentive throughout the night and brought us a champagne toast to celebrate. I can't recommend their pasta dish enough with braised rabbit as well as their delicata squash soup. Both had complex flavor, the pasta was rich and the rabbit cut through it along with the parsley to create a delicious experience. The delicata soup was smooth and hearty with sour cherries for a pop of flavor. Their fried chicken is outstanding, the best I've had in KC. Crispy and moist inside and they give you a very large portion. Although I didn't feel that the fries were elevated - I would recommend picking a different side. My husband ordered the steak which was cooked perfectly, and his hatch Chile Mac and cheese had a subtle pepper flavor with a smooth sauce. The basque cheesecake was fluffy and smooth without being too sweet. Their cocktails were okay but I would pass on the next visit. This is a great addition to Parkville, and worth a visit. read more

Acre Restaurants - two people standing in a restaurant - New American Near Me - Parkville, Missouri

My beautiful wife and I were celebrating our 38th anniversary. My son and daughter in law gifted us 150.00 to Acre. I had been there twice before. Both times were great, but this time it was different. We were greeted by a personable young woman at the hostess desk who saw it was our anniversary and made us feel welcome. We were lead to our table which had Happy Anniversary card signed by the staff. Our server Adonis appeared and was also personable. I don't want to give you an essay, so I'll summarize. We ordered the Ceasar salad and pea soup, both unique and delicious. My wife is very concerned about having her steak done correctly. She can't go med rare, but doesn't want it over cooked. Adonis assured her they will do whatever is necessary to make her happy. We both ordered the filet, mine med rare and hers medium Long and short, probably one of the best prepared steaks we've ever had, and we are old. We split the flourless chocolate cake. I highly recommend it! It wasn't cheap, but I don't mind paying more if everything was as good as that night. Looking forward to returning! read more

I went with my girl friends, and we all agreed that Acre has great drinks, awesome side dishes and fantasies dessert. But the steak was ok and not impressive with the price they charge. Acre Restaurants - Apple pie pudding (daily special menu) - New American Near Me - Parkville, Missouri

Acre is in a shopping center in Parkville off the 45 hwy. I love this because it's only five minutes from my house. It's on the upscale side but to me it's worth every cent. I absolutely love this place. As soon as you step in the door you're greeted by friendly staff and a nice aroma of yummy smelling food. Very warm and inviting atmosphere. It's an open kitchen so you can see the Chefs at work. I ordered the chopped salad, 35 day KC strip which came with a side, and a choice of sauce. The side I ordered was creamed spinach with gruyere and cheese curds. I picked the smoked horseradish crème fraiche sauce for my steak. The salad was very good. It came with Applewood bacon, pickled onion, dill trout roe (I don't care for roe so I declined that) and Maytag blue cheese dressing. Perfectly cooked steak, so juicy and full of flavor and excellent with that horseradish sauce. The creamed spinach was good but just a tad bit salty for my taste. I know when they first opened this restaurant they weren't open for lunch, but now that they are I need to try their lunch menu as well. Parkville needs more restaurants like this. read more

For the price, I would go elsewhere. The ambiance was nice and the service was good, but at the end of the day, the food is most important. I ordered the pickled chicken, and it lacked a lot of flavor. I'm not sure if the chicken is brined at all, but it probably could have benefitted from a brine or a longer brine. For chicken that's cooked just as well and seasoned much better, I'd go to Stroud's. Or if you're in the South, you know to go to Publix. I appreciate that Acre is trying to do something a little different for the area, but I feel like it's only good for the soccer moms that have simple palates that are more wowed by atmosphere and price. To top things off, we had the cobbler dessert, and it was overpoweringly sweet. The actual fruit flavor was lost-- no acidity to balance out the flavors and no complexity to entice the senses. I am not sure I'd go back to try Acre again. read more

Wow! Acre has got it all! Located in Parkville, Acre is a wonderful dining experience with great ambiance, service, and food. We sat outside on the covered patio. The street was a bit noisy but we hardly noticed once the food appeared. We started with the watermelon salad with whipped yogurt. It was truly a beautiful dish and quite possibly the best salad I have ever eaten. The kitchen delicately plated the dish and the flavor was a perfect balance of sweet, salty, creamy, and crunchy. Next we ordered the grilled beeler pork chop and home-made ricotta cappelletti pasta with braised rabbit. The pork was juicy and delicious and the pasta was a fun take on a deconstructed pesto/alfredo. Both felt very interactive and kept us searching to combine the perfect bite on each forkful. To be honest, I was that excited to dine here because the menu is smaller and I wasn't in the mood for the options. However, I couldn't have been more wrong about it all. While the options are not a huge book, they're without a doubt the best thing you'll ever experience. The restaurant itself is small, intimate, and cute. Service was impeccable! Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive. We started with the carrot soup. It was amazing!! Presentation, 10/10! Followed by the smoked ricotta. I'm a sucker for ricotta and this did not disappoint. It was served with fried crackers. Next, we shared the delicious spring greens salad followed by the pork chop and cappelletti. Comfortable seating, great ambiance, food that is savory and served with style. Intimate and charming, Acre is a midwestern mix of upscale and traditional. The espresso with its humble but perfect 10ct brown sugar nugg pairs nicely with the bread pudding, when I say nicely I mean, get that. I don't even like bread pudding and I know for a fact I will go there again soon just for this dessert. They forever changed my mind about saltines. Don't second guess this one folks, it's the type of shareable food you don't mind being an ass about and taking the last cracker when there's a 60 second pause in reaches. But wait, the waiter then came back and asked us if we wanted more! Oh, hell yes we do. Acre Restaurants - Drinks! I got a non-alcoholic and my friend got a sparkling wine! - New American Near Me - Parkville, Missouri

I have been dying to try out this restaurant ever since long before it was even open. We finally made it in to celebrate my birthday, and it lived up to every dream and expectation that I had. I wanted to include the fact that we brought the kids (7 & 9) in case anyone else was wondering if the whole family might enjoy it. And I say - if it's in your budget - go for it! Let me tell you all the reasons why: They do have a kids menu. My boys both ordered the chicken strips and my picky eaters proclaimed them "The BEST chicken tenders ever." And let me tell you, they've eaten a lot of chicken strips at a lot of different places. My oldest asked if he could get to choose what restaurant he has dinner at for his birthday. I said yes and he immediately replied, "I want to come here and get the chicken tenders again." The food was timed perfectly. Our thoughtful server entered the kids' entrees so they came out with the adult soups (because you can't not get the smoked tomato soup). Free entertainment for the kids as they watched the chefs cook through the glass window. The kids both ordered a Shirley temple (with scratch made grenadine of course) and unanimously also declared them to be the BEST Shirley temples ever. And for dessert they shared the dark chocolate cremeux - basically a deconstructed s'more and right up their alley. They devoured it. Now, as to the adult perspective? Service was impeccable. The hostess was very gracious (and I was so happy to snag the last open table, since there were no reservations available online) and our server was just amazing. Drinks were crafted perfectly. Food presentation was on point and everything tasted amazing. Portions were very filling without being too much. Bravo to everyone there! What an amazing birthday experience. read more
