I ordered the chicken noodle soup and pepperoni and mushroom flatbread. I was pleasantly surprised at the chicken noodle soup, the soup of the day. Usually airport restaurants make this soup too salty, but the amount of sodium was just right. It wasn't too salty, and it wasn't too bland. In fact, it was actually delicious. The broth was the right consistency (not too gloopy and not too watery), and the noodles and chicken were pretty solid. I would've give this place four stars alone based on that soup. Unfortunately, the flatbread fell short. Frankly, I feel like restaurants call this "flatbread" just so they can charge more. This is really pizza. The dough was mediocre, the pepperoni was store-bought, and the mushrooms were okay. This pizza was a bit bland and fell into the category of your typical airport food. My soup was ready about 5 minutes after ordering, and the pizza was ready about 10 minutes after ordering (was still finishing the soup). These items cost $20.94, including tax, but pre-tip. I had their Ultimate Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries. It may have been the best grilled cheese I had ever eaten in a restaurant (my homemade version is still my favorite). This baby is actually an inverted griller. The cheese is melted on the outside of the multigrain, with delicious sautéed onion bits and spices within. Each bite was a crisp cleave with lovely crunch from first to last. The fries were also crisp and tasty. We gathered at Draftcade, the bar that is adjacent to the comedy club. Little did I know we would encounter the most racist bar tender we have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. My husband ordered a drink and politely asked the bartender to make the drink a certain way. "Please use Coke as my primary mixer with just a splash of sweet and sour mix." She was clearly irritated by the request but proceeded to make the drink. As my husband observed she did not fulfill his request. Before she handed him the glass he politely told her that the drink was not made as he requested. She immediately became angry and asked if he was there for the comedy show. He replied yes. She immediately walked over to the sink dumped out the drink and told him to get his drink inside the comedy club and refused to serve him. She never asked me what I wanted and when I confronted her, she rudely told us both to leave. I didn't like her tone or the way she treated us so I asked to speak with her manager. She walked away in a scoff and made a very racist comment. "I don't see nobody over here tipping". That really struck a cord with us because 1. We go out of our way to tip wherever we go. We had not ordered so why would you say that except you were stereotyping. 2. I know she was talking about black people because it was nearly all black people in the bar and she directed her comments to us and other black customers sitting at the bar. 3. I have been a loyal customer to Funny Bone Comedy Club even when it was known as "The Improv". In fact I was planning to come back in November to celebrate my 60th birthday with Godfrey. As we stood there in disbelief due to her unprofessionalism and total disrespect towards her customers, she then told us to get away from the bar area where we were standing because we were a health issue. I told her I wasn't leaving until I spoke with her manager. First they sent security, then finally the bar manager. Both who decided to side with their bartender who refused to serve us and made racist comments. We were asked to leave and was not seated for the show. I will never patronize these establishments again.
