We drove up from Kansas City to get out of the house (tired of the cold weather and snow) and was headed to Robyn's restaurant, however it is closed on weekends even tho maps said it was open‍. So we ended up at DINO'S Diner. Open 24/7 serving breakfast, lunch and dinner any time. There was a very extensive menu for everyone. Its was hard for me to pick! I ended up on Dino's skillet. It was just so delicious in my opinion. And plenty big of a serving. Currently $10.99. Picture below. My husband had the Ruben sandwich and fries. He liked it, But he gave me no details. . I tasted a fry and it was hot and crispy. Just the way I like them. The bread was pretty. Lol. I tasted it and it was just bread. I did taste the rest of the sandwich tho. Our server was excellent too. It was not crowded when we were there but steady customers coming in. We were served quickly too. I would have liked to try the pie or cakes available, but I was way too full. From Cameron we drove to St Joseph for chocolate. Rocky mountain chocolate factory. Stopped for lunch on the way through town. The kids had the spaghetti, and they liked it. Portions were generous. I had a burger and fries...good, but nothing to rave about. Our server was friendly. The restaurant is kind of dark. The cleanliness was below average. You could see crumbs etc under the condiment holder, like it had just been wiped around. Also, lots of flies. Spent a lot of time shooing flies away from our food--kind of put a damper on things. Will I be back, unsure. Might give it another try. read more

Consistently satisfying quality and service, though there does seem to be a high turn over of service members. Industry? Maybe. Desire to work? Maybe. There are a few familiar faces we do love seeing. Floor management/owners always recognize us and make us feel appreciated most especially by the kindness and attention to our needs for grandkids and aging/ disabled parents. Kind hearts for sure. And that's important to us in small town dining. My menu faves are fish sandwich with cheese and side salad instead of fries OR Irish skillet. I also love the crepes but would prefer fresh fruit & it's juice over a canned jelly version.Hubs loves French toast breakfast with over easy eggs and extra bacon. He LOVES Dino's bacon. OR wings and fries. My son requests Dino's ranch as a gift- did you know they'd sell it that way? They did though they don't advertise. Easily the best ranch around.Such an affordable place and consistently good quality. We take our parents every time they visit from Brookfield. They have their own faves! Dad is so happy when he can get liver & onions which is so hard to get at any place anymore. Mom's faves are stir fry & TACO SALAD though I'm amazed at how much they both eat of the chicken fried steak meals! It's delicious, but I can only eat a third and let me tell you - my 'rents fill up on that meal! Plus pies! Don't get me started! lol. I especially appreciate the ease I can navigate my dad around the restaurant in his wheelchair and staff support when he needs to use the restroom with my moms help ( we have to close off the room for a time because of two genders). We were approached by a dark haired lady who was unfriendly and seemed bothered that we were there. Adisin was our server and she was very nice and attentive to her customers. The atmosphere was marginal. As someone else noted, they are very loud when they bus the tables. The dishes are just thrown into the bin. The food was good and plentiful. Food was great service great but when I checked out I was screwed out of 20.00. I literally gave a 25.00 tip. I know for a fact I gave the cashier 20.00 and then fumbled for change. A pleasant surprise in Cameron. We stopped for supper. As the evening progressed, they got busier and busier. It appears this is a favorite place of locals of all ages. Great family place. A big open spacious dining room. Tables were not crowded together. Our server a young man thought his name was Brett or Bryce sorry buddy was very sweet and it seemed like he was new because he seemed to get embarrassed every time he asked us a question. We ordered the ribs and the two piece chicken dinner they were fabulous. The staff is very friendly the food came out hot the prices were very reasonable. I would have given them 5 stars but I was not comfortable with the social distancing. Not a mask in sight, including the staff and I was back-to-back with someone in an adjacent booth. Great menu for a diner with something for everyone. Lots of families and kids running around, and I can see why. My catfish dinner was under $10 and with a beverage and pie my tab was $16 which was very reasonable. The fish was perfectly breaded and fried, and the sides were excellent. The lemon meringue pie was very lemony and the meringue light and fluffy. The crust was crumbly, not flaky, but very good. Highly recommended if you are not looking for social distancing during the pandemic. read more

After the waitress brought out our meal, well that's the last we saw her till she walked by and threw the bill on the table and went on. Had a great meal with great service. The fried chicken does take a little extra time to cook but it was worth the wait. It had great seasoning and crisp. The portion sizes were very large. My daughter had the Alfredo and my wife the chicken parmigiana The chicken was good. Ask for Ranch to dip the fried chicken and it will take you to a whole new level. If I could give more than zero stars, I would! Our waitress was the most awful server I have ever experience--horrible horrible customer service. Argued when I asked a question about what came with my meal. Whipped a make-up plate in front of me. Forgot to bring me my side. Forgot the salad dressing that came with my family's dinner. She rolled her eyes at every question and call-over I had after slamming her hand on the bar when I waved her over. Plus she was training a new server! When I asked to speak to a manager, she failed to deescalate. She argued with me and defended her server's behavior with, "I've never had a complaint about her before." Well too bad! She argued with me so much that someone from a different table came over, swore at me, told me to pay and leave, and encouraged the entire restaurant to applaud me and tell me to "Get the hell out or I will call the police!" Also there was mention about a sister working there, so nepotism? I asked for the name of ownership and was refused. Public humiliation in a small town restaurant--terrible look for Dino's. I pass through once a year so this review is based on probably 5 times of eating there. Last Saturday I stopped after 13 hours of driving decided to have the special Ribeye with 2 sides I ordered it rare it was not chewable told the waitress and she said let's cook it a little more brought back a hockey puck had to cut it into 3/8 bites just to chew enough to swallow. First of all, not a mask in sight. No servers, no owners, no guests. We wore ours whenever we left the table. Cameron was our stopping night between Colorado and Illinois but we'll Probably rethink this on the next trip. Hotels are run down, restaurants looked mediocre, gas stations are filthy. As for the diner, Took nearly ten minutes before we were even greeted and asked for drinks. Another 10 before our server came back to get our order. Food took over 40 minutes to arrive. Our original server was seen counting tips as we waited for food. She never came back the rest of the time we were there. Another sever came back and got refills ten minutes after we had ran out of drinks. The second sever brought us our food. Food was mediocre; fried chicken, that we knew would take 20 minutes, was dry and tough. Floor was filthy, chairs were ripped. A third server finally brought our check after we sat another ten minutes with stacked plates and empty cups. Two hours of our life and $65 we'll never get back. Do yourselves a favor and stop to eat in Kansas City. read more

We always order the country omelette with burnt hash browns and the hash browns always come out perfect! Our waitress was super sweet too.
