At the end of a Quilting Expedition for my Wife on a family trip, our hunger brought us to Kathy's Kitchen to sate our appetite after completing this quest. Inside it is tiny with as many tables as the converted gas station could hold. Most of them were occupied with locals AND visitors alike having a bite. Avery, our server, was fast with our drinks and patient while we ordered. I had unsweet, freshly made, iced tea with their Reuben Burger and tots. My Wife had the Patty Melt with tots, my Son had their Hornet Burger with a Sting and fries, while my Daughter had chicken fingers and fries. They came out in a short time after the order being placed ... quite hot and very fresh. I laid into mine with gusto. The rye bread was buttery and toasted to give it a crispy bite with the tangy sauerkraut snap and a creamy thousand island dressing complimenting the swiss cheese melted over a beef patty that oozed just enough to make the bite juicier than it really was. Kathy herself came out to chat with us for a few minutes in-between orders. She happily regaled us with her start up out of a food truck in 2015 and how she moved into the brick and mortar place when it came available. She and her two waitstaff buzzed like busy bees during service and looked like a well oiled team getting every glass refilled and orders placed on the table. If I EVER come back to Hamilton for additional quilting expeditions, Kathy's Kitchen will be in the agenda for breakfast and lunch. Stop by if you are in Hamilton. You won't be disappointed. My son and I went back to Hamilton for Deer Season. Of course we weren't going to miss the chance to eat at Kathy's. We can't say enough about Chloe and how she takes care of us. But a big shout out to kathy for hooking me up with an incredible breakfast. She was kind enough to take her great pork tenderloin and smother it with her wonderful gravy, added a few eggs and I was in heaven. What a great little place in Hamilton! The entire staff is super friendly and enjoy working here. The food is good and the portions are right on the money. And speaking of money, this is one of the best bargains you'll find in NW MO. Burgers were good. I couldn't eat my chili cheese fries though, reason below. Service was atrocious, we travel the country all summer and have been for 4 years. This is the worst service we have ever had. - no silverware (hence no chili cheese fries) - stale coffee, supposedly made more but didn't offer me any - nothing to stir my stale coffee with (had to add cream and sugar cause it was stale) - no cream for the coffee, I got a glass of milk to use - hovered for money and tips. This was the first time the 4 of us had been to Hamilton, MO. We spent the night and were eager to get an early start. Kathy's Kitchen opened at 7:00 AM so we went there to have breakfast. We were pleasantly surprised. I had the half order of biscuits and gravy, which was huge for me. It was delicious. My wife had an omelet which she also enjoyed. Service was excellent.
