This restaurant is attached to a gas station, but it is not tiny. The parking lot is large and located on an end of the plaza, away from the bustling gas pumps. We arrived at the end of the lunch rush on a Wednesday. There were quite a few people in lines at the counter but we went up to an empty kiosk and ordered right away. The food was ready in under five minutes, which was a wonderful surprise. Everything was accurate and fresh. I was pleased to see an employee out cleaning tables, too. I initially went to DD in the same building but after standing there with no acknowledgement from the employees that I was interested in placing an order, I walked over to Wendy's. Wendy's employees greeted me and were very friendly. I ordered a plain croissant with butter and a senior coffee. 55 cents!! My senior coffee was free! Score! We stopped by this Wendy's following Labor Day weekend when we were on our way back to the Des Moines, IA metro from Springfield MO. The travel plaza as whole was under renovation/construction but we needed gas and to use the restroom. As a whole the travel plaza was kind of a mess, but the Wendy's was the one saving grace. Service was good. Food was hot and fresh. They nailed our order perfectly. Definitely woth the stop. Or maybe I was just STARVING! Lol read more

Ok, so before you think this review has anything to do with the food or service, it does not. The crew was absolutely fantastic and the food tasted good like it always does but let me tell you....whoever was running the evening shift tonight should be ashamed of themselves. I'm not sure if it was a manager or the lead but the way they were talking to their crew was ridiculous. The screaming and yelling was unnecessary and if anyone walks out and quits that job, I wouldn't blame them one bit. Shame on you for treating your coworkers like that. read more

This Wendy's is at a particular stop if you're going south on 35 to kc (or north!) and need a stop before but won't make it the 45 or so minutes into kc without a stop, and everyone I know who makes this trip knows this Wendy's and agree it is an exceptional and another level Wendy's, the soda machine is the perfect fountain drink that is the envy of every other Diet Coke I've ever had, the manager is like the guy from limitless getting all the food out, we stop here every time we make this trip and I always wish every fast food place was as on their game as this one. read more

Got my order wrong and then it all violently left my body the next morning... Asked for light Mayo and got only Mayo and nothing else on my chicken sandwiches. The chicken was BAD. I'm talking striated/woody and grainy. I did the B1G$1 but with the error ended up getting 3 sandwiches. I normally love free food, but this was so bad it wasn't even worth it. Straight into the trash, where it belongs. Lastly, this sandwich was all I ate all day driving from KS to IL and I proceeded to be on the throne for a few hours the next day. read more

This Wendy's restaurant shares a building with a Baskin-Robbins, a Godfather's Pizza, and the Shell gas station's convenience store. The interior of the restaurant is clean. The cashier was friendly; she greeted me with a smile. The frosty was delivered quickly, and was so thick I had to eat it with a spoon because it was too thick to travel through a straw. Connected to the Shell station makes this Wendy's hugely convenient. You can grab gas, any items you need in the convenience store, and then stop over or go through the drive thru for a meal. Out of the chain fast food burger joints, Wendy's is one of my preferred. The hamburgers are always good, plus I love the variety of sides they offer over the other national chains. This stop I decided to get the fish sandwich. It was ok, but I warn, you will be disappointed with what you get compared to the picture on the menu board. I realize nothing ever looks as good as the picture, but the fish sandwich in the picture has a big piece of fish sticking out from the bun and this one is barely visible in the bun. Think I will stick to burgers at Wendy's. read more

We have eaten here for the last time. Have tried it twice once a month for the past several months, and it's always mediocre. We travel Iowa-Arkansas RT twice a month. Food is barely warm. Specified condiments missing. Restrooms are very dirty. Even after a remodel, we thought it would improve, but just like "lipstick on a pig....it's still a pig." Will give the McDonalds across the street a few tries. Oriental chain coming soon. Glad there is competition. Step it up, please....you are taking advantage of being on an interstate highway, and most people won't have need or opportunity to return. You can do better. The service was terrible. The manager, Doug treated the employees like idiots. He used curse words multiple times with an elevated voice. Orders were wrong. Took 25 minutes to get the food. The drive thru workers yelled out the window that they weren't taking more orders and then laughed. read more

They may not be the quickest at getting to the counter, but when they arrive they are ready to help! Not bad for a Wendy's, especially one in such a small, random location. The breakfast was actually extremely tasty and the workers were nice. I only came here because of my boyfriend and I were on a roadtrip and just happened to stop by. Walked in tonight to order and was greeted rudely by employees mopping the floor with nasty dirty water. Employee greeted and referred to me as "man", served cold, soggy food.
