Y'all, the Tin Kitchen is my new go-to dining spot whenever I'm in Weston! I went there for dinner during a recent camping trip and was blown away by how delicious everything was, and how generous the portion sizing is. The staff were very friendly, and I loved the vibe- a mix of old school and new in an old (but very well maintained) brick building in downtown Weston. My one note about the Cajun chicken sandwich is that the seasoning, while very tasty, is mild in terms of spice. So if you're expecting spice, you'll probably want to add some spicy BBQ sauce or something similar. All in all this place is such a gem, and I recommend it to anyone visiting Weston during a mealtime! read more

HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED to say the least. Rude blonde hostess was short and had an off putting attitude. The FOH staff shamelessly huddled amongst themselves in the openness gossiping and seemed inconvenienced by our wanting to order...? No one seemed to have answers for any questions aside from "I don't know " and "yep". They blatantly complained about patrons/doing their job out in the open and the overall atmosphere was unwelcoming because of the poor - or better yet, lack there of - HOSPITALITY. The only positive thing is that the food was actually really good. If you still want to try the food I'd recommend getting it to-go. And to the establishment, it may be time to restaff. read more

Tin Kitchen is amazing and anyone who says otherwise is just crazy and miserable. From Hailey, August and the rest of the staff to the delicious food, it is the best BBQ place in the KC Metro. Downtown Weston is such an adorable must visit. Tin kitchen is an exceptional example of what makes this town so great. As soon as you walk in the smell of bbq and spices swarm. The staff immediately greeted us and told us we could sit anywhere. It was a Tuesday afternoon, so they were not very busy. The menu looked so great, I honestly did not know what to try! I ended up making my mind up on the Cajun chicken salad! It was a simple salad, looked and was very refreshing. The chicken had the perfect spices. My friend had also ordered the sandwich, it's a good alternative for the salad for a bigger meal! We also started with the smothered fries with house-made cheese and pulled pork, the most amazing combination. This little place is a gem! Don't be surprised if you stop in here and you have to wait for a table. It's pretty popular because the food is good, the service is great and the prices are reasonable. My husband had the smoked brisket salad, and I had the Carolina - pulled pork with coleslaw on a delicious bun. I enjoyed the original barbecue sauce, but the other sauces were pretty great, too. Wow!! We stopped in with a very large group (20+), on an impromptu basis, during a busy Friday lunch hour. The staff was very kind and welcoming. We stopped in for Lunch on Saturday, there is usually a wait but they wait goes quickly. We sat in the lower bar area, Not the Side bar. LOL The side bar offerers different food then the lower bar and main dining area. Staff has always been helpful and friendly any time I have been there. Enroute to KC, we stopped off for a bite to eat in Weston. Tin Kitchen is your stop for eats and beers. Folks were getting ready for the afternoon game on Sunday, with their Chiefs facing off against the Niners. Sundays are a popular place to gather in Weston, and plenty of regulars were at TK when we got there. We could have waited for our own table, but we jumped at the first available - which was two seats at the shared table, eating with the masses. We got seated with menus, and shortly after and I ordered and enjoyed a O'Malley's Cream Ale, from Weston Brewing Company. It is a well balanced lager that is sweet with a cardamum finish. I topped it off with a single FGT (Fried Green Tomato) smashburger. The FGT is a single patty topped with pimento, topped with a fried green tomato. It was not heavy, and easy to enjoy. The side of fries was beyond generous... the fries were fine, just endless. It had me rethinking maybe should have had the mac'n'cheese or broccoli to be healthy - nahhhh. TK has a southern diner feel to it, but it does BBQ, and has a full bar. They have mocktails and adult drinks, but I would also try to enjoy the best of Weston, whether it's from the Weston Brewery Co. or the TK's very own Mean Muggin', Margie, or their What the Huck (indeed!). I would certainly like to return to try their pulled pork sandwich... well, there's always tomorrow. read more

Both were tender, juicy, perfectly smoky, and loaded with flavor like they've been marinating in good decisions. The beans? Absolute top-tier. Honestly, I'd write a love song about them if I had any musical talent. Fries? Golden, crispy, and copious -- like, enough to build a small starch sculpture if you were so inclined. The place itself is super cute -- set in a building that looks like it's been around since Lincoln had a beard. Rustic charm, cozy atmosphere, very "this used to be a general store but now we serve meat miracles." The staff were fast, sassy (in the fun way), and genuinely nice. There were quite a few of them just hanging out, probably in between rushes, giving the place a bit of a relaxed, low-key vibe -- like your cool cousins running a BBQ joint. Consistently good food, that keeps us coming back for more. TK is one of a few restaurants that is always open in the area and has the space to accommodate large parties. Their broccoli salad is just like Granny's recipe and a fan fav with our family. This place is absolutely delicious. Apparently, everyone already knows that because it was packed when we got there. We did go on a beautiful Saturday at about 1pm. Despite being told the wait would be twenty minutes, we opted to sit at their downstairs bar and only had to wait about five. There is far more seating than it looks like when you first walk in. All of the workers were very polite and attentive. I had a pulled pork sandwich and it was amazing. I love that you have your choice of three sauces. My boyfriend got a two meat platter. First, the people who work there, love working there and it shows. Not only do they love working at the restaurant, they love Weston and talking about it. We are from California and they had so many great advice on what to do, told my wife a Hallmark movie was made there, and what it is like living in town. Now to the food. They specialize in bbq, though there are a variety of options on the menu. This last visit I shared a bbq sandwich and some fries with my husband. Honestly the food is always great, the only downgrade from 4-5 stars is just because it's always so busy on the weekends and you'll need to plan on a wait. It would be nice if you could have them text you when your table is ready so you can walk around town a bit while waiting. We didn't have a super long wait, but had it been any longer I think it would have put a damper on the day without the ability to leave the area. read more

We were staying in Leavenworth for an Army class and several folks recommended this place. It was so close, the downtown is really cool and historical. We got there early and sat quickly. The rack of ribs was perfectly cooked! I liked the coleslaw because it was more vinegar than mayo. The coconut cream pie takes the cake though! I feel bad to give this not a five star review the last time I had a meal here was honestly a couple months ago, and I have not been back. The staff is friendly though they could be a little more attentive and prices are above average, unfortunately I found the meat to be extremely fatty and extremely chewy And while some people are into that I was not. I asked for a replacement and was given a replacement fairly quickly, which was only mildly leaner. Perhaps they have changed since I was there, but if it's still the same, I see no reason nor do I have any desire to return, which is sad because having a barbecue place in WESTON and having such a warm atmosphere and great decor and a great location inside I really want it to be a great place, but in the last few years, it has started to turn downward and that bugs me out. Grabbed dinner at Tin Kitchen at 5:00 on a Saturday night. We had a party of 5 and had a short wait, but then were able to get a table in the bar. My husband and I split the 1/2 chicken with broccoli salad and French fries. It was plenty of food for 2 people. I would never have been able to eat it by myself! The chicken was delicious- well cooked with crispy skin. The broccoli salad was great too - not too much mayo, broccoli cooked just enough. I did not love the French fries. I like crispy fries. Weston is a charming town with unique shops. Also famous for the Holiday/McCormicks distillery. My family and I went for lunch at the Tin Kitchen. The building is small. The waitress was very helpful and had multiple tables. The food is OK. There is no reason to go out of your way to eat at the Tin Kitchen in my opinion. I had one of their signature dishes and it was OK. My family had the pulled pork and really enjoyed it. The hamburger looked overcooked in my opinion. read more
