Second time being here in a 10-year span and we still love the food as much as we did the first time, you really get a lot of food for what you are paying, we spent about $88 for three meals and it fed the four of us and we still had some extra boxes of waffle fries left. The Mahi Mahi plate was probably our least favorite though compared to the crispy combo and the large shrimp taco plate.

tin fish is located below the pier and the location makes it a super hot spot, we were in line for about 45 minutes, and with that, prices are also pretty steep. i got their fish n chips which totaled to around $23. portion was not bad but still did not justify that price, fish were crispy and fries hit the spot though, cole slaw was good too.

I don't come down to Oceanside often, but during a quick day trip to the beach, we discovered a great spot for seafood and more! As we walked down the pier, we didn't seem to have a lot of options for lunch. So, as we walked down to the beach, we noticed Tin Fish at the bottom of the stairwell. We checked to see what was on their menu and noticed that they had a great variety of seafood, burgers, acai bowls, and shakes. I ordered the jumbo shrimp with fries and my husband ordered the grilled mahi mahi sandwich with onion rings. They gave us a little buzzer and we waited for our food to be ready. It didn't take long for the buzzer to go off. Since the weather was nice, we opted to eat our lunch out on the beach. When we opened up our food containers, we were pleased with the size of the portions of food that we got. It was enough to fill us up without overdoing it. One thing that I don't like is when food is unseasoned. Tin Fish's fries had some type of spice on them that tasted like Cajun seasoning! It was great! The fries would have been fine without ketchup as well. The shrimp was evenly breaded and also cooked with the same seasoning! I was very pleased! I really liked that our time in Oceanside led to us discovering new places that are a quick train ride from OC. I enjoyed the food at Tin Fish so much that before we caught the train back to OC, we ordered an orange cream float before we left. We will definitely come back to Tin Fish when we venture back to Oceanside later this year.

Tin Fish is located on the Oceanside strand. It's a little stand with outdoor seating. There's plenty of seating with umbrellas The view of the ocean is great. You order at the window. They give you a number and call it out from the pick up window. They have a great variety of options, mostly fried. I got the clam chowder because I'm at the beach! It was thick and full of potatoes. I would've liked more clams. I did not love it. I did love the fish tacos and onion rings! The fish taco was a nice portion. I couldn't eat it all. The portion size was great. I would definitely come back here again. Prices were reasonable.

Got the fish sandwich; both husband and I loved it! The portions were good and the fries were good as well. Food came out within 10 mins. And of course being right below the pier the ambiance is fantastic! Great vibes and great food!

I was craving seafood and having recently spent a week along the coast and staying in Monterey to Half Moon Bay and enjoying their local seafood, I was looking for the same in Oceanside. We were strolling on a Sunday morning and I wanted some fresh seafood and didn't want to go into a restaurant. We saw that Tin Fish was opened so we got the grilled mixed plate and a salad to snack. It took a while for our food to be done and we were so hungry while waiting. There are plenty of outdoor tables to seat but the only thing you need to be mindful is the competitions for your food, with incudes birds, bees, and flies! When food came out, salad was good and the grilled mixed plate was good but for the price, it was so little... so, I think it was pretty expensive! I was still hungry and wanted to go and order some more but there was a line and I didn't want to wait another 30 minutes at least for the next time I could eat again here so we didn't order more. If I'm in the area again next time and go here to eat, I might just order a lot more learning from this experience. Overall, it's AOKAY.

During my travels to Cali I like to stop at Tin Fish, and then go walk to Pier. The fish is fresh and taste delicious. Over the years the price just increases which is outrageous now. 2 tacos usually covers my appetite. I would bring my own drinks next time since it's window order and outdoor eating. Then you can go take a walk along the Pier. The only down fall is 2 times now they have tried to over charge me on items. So definitely know the price of what you are ordering.

I was skeptical at first because I am an expert on banana milkshakes. The nice girl at the front convinced me that she makes the best milkshakes and has the best milkshake in all of Oceanside. Let's just say that I was not disappointed. Will definitely be getting my milkshakes from her again.

Brought the family to the Tin Fish for dinner. It was delicious and HUGE! The fish was perfectly fried. Tender and delicious. NOT a beer batter which I like. The waffle fries were good and plentiful. The shrimp and calamari were cooked perfectly and paired well with all of the house made sauces. We had so much food that we had to take boxes home and had a whole extra meal for the next day! The kicker is, for everything being fried, it WAS NOT GREASY. This means they change their oil and cook at the right temps! Finished the meal off with some smoothies, ice cream and one of the best churros I've had in a long time! Plenty of cinnamon and sugar. The place was clean the staff was very friendly. I'm definitely looking forward to going back to try some other stuff and that cheeseburger burrito.

The menu is a little big so it's hard to choose from lol

My mom has been coming to the San Diego locations for years until it closed down, but the fact that they had one here was great. The line was pretty long because it was lunch time, but definitely worth the wait! The food was so good! So fresh! It's by the pier so the view is amazing! Can't beat fresh seafood next to the ocean! Definitely recommend going if you're in town!

    What a JOKE. $2.99

This place used to have the best coleslaw in Oceanside.. . NOT ANY MORE! We were attending an event at the Amphitheater, and as usual we would purchase several orders of their coleslaw. To our surprise, they changed their recipe and the amount that you get. So, for $2.99 you'll receive a 4ounce cup of coleslaw. This cup is slightly bigger can a salsa cup at any local taco store. We were like ,"Wow, is this a joke? This makes their coleslaw $11.96 a pound and this is coming from a food shack that serves coleslaw that can be purchased at any local grocery store. SAVE YOUR MONEY! Go ELSEWHERE. Nothing special about this coleslaw at all.

The food portions and food is amazing. Some of the best chicken tenders I have ever had. They are fresh and were very hot! The service is fast and great. Don't always love eating at the tables close by, sometimes we walk up the boardwalk to a different area to eat.

UPDATE. Exceptional bounce-back customer service. Barely a line, ordered something super simple - kids fish and chips, and waited about 25min when told it will be ready in 5-7 minutes. I saw three customers that came after me get their (large) orders. I went to the window asking about my order and it appeared it was given to someone else by accident. I wasn't mad, I was just hungry. The main guy prepared my order after that very quickly. When I went to pick up my order at the window I also was given a refund NOT expecting that and wasn't necessary but thank you. Then I was told he would like to give me a piece of chicken for my dog... again NOT expected and thank you so kindly. Didn't care for the fast reorder or the refund much BUT to think about my dog and wanting to give her a piece of chicken for her own happiness was WINNER CUSTOMER SERVICE for me. He came to my table and provided some small pieces of chicken. KIDS FISH AND CHIPS - smaller version of their regular fish and chips. I like their halibut fish and chips better but this was good enough. Fried well, tasted good. No complaint. CHICKEN - for my dog. She loved it and although they gave a small serving it was very generous and a buffet for my small dog. It was plenty and I packed up the left overs for her evening snack. I see your pendant around your neck!!! Of course I pronounce correctly... I grew up with (a lot of) real ones. Si Yu'os ma'åse

The owner took our order and was incredibly friendly, helpful, and informative. He described all of the dishes and you can tell he genuinely loves his resturant and what he's doing there. At one point he mentioned that he's proud of the portions because he thinks a lot of vegan resturants tend to skimp a little. He was absolutely right to be proud. I had the French Dip and it was honestly one of the best sandwiches I've had. The stek was sliced thin and really tasty, the cheze in the sandwich was perfectly gooey (which is rare for plant based cheze), and the aujus was the real star. I've honestly had nothing like it before. It was also a really hearty portion and super filling. My wife had the Jambi sandwich -- a hash brown wafflle with fried chikun, sunflower swiss, seitan bakon between two pieces of french toast -- plus chili fries on the side. The sandwich itself was impressively big and definitely lived up to the owner's point about portions. We've both been vegan for about 10 years and always appreciate finding places doing creative food like this. We live about an hour and a half away, but we're already figuring out when we can make the trek back for another visit.

The sandwich and meat were dry and flavorless. Totally underwhelming unfortunately. So then we saw that they made key lime pie there too! Again, I was SUPER excited because key lime pie is my favorite dessert of all time. And again...disappointment. I took one glance and saw that it was light green in color and knew I was gonna be mad. Yall, Key lime pie is yellow. You should NEVER add food coloring. That's just gross and inaccurate. The texture and flavor were also off. Texturally it was way too thick and dense, which would have been fine if it actually tasted like key lime. But it was severely lacking in that tart key lime flavor that it's known for. I'd definitely go back because of the service and vibe. But I'll maybe try a burger and the cheesecake instead.

My fiancée & I had seen Parlor Doughnuts numerous times after the Oceanside Sunset Market. & every single 1 of those times, we were already too full from grazing at all the food stands by then to give it a try. So on a Saturday afternoon, when we just happened to be nearby, we popped in for some impulse buy doughnuts. With a staggering variety of delicious looking toppings/ flavors, the possibilities looked enticingly intriguing. Staff behind the counter was friendly attentive, & helpful. Although there are some savory options available, which seemed to me like pizza toppings on doughnuts, we stuck with sweet: maple bacon & bourbon caramel. Tried & true flavor combinations, both. But the dough, whoa. For starters, the 2 doughnuts we got didn't have holes. That actually makes a difference in how the doughnut cooks. Secondly, the dough ate more like bread dough than a doughnut. Doughnuts have a hole for a reason. You see, it's physics, son. When you consider how thermodynamics affects an oblate spheroid vs. a toroidal sphere, it becomes evident that a doughnut without a hole will not cook evenly throughout inside. In fact, this was specifically proven on MasterChef Canada Season 8, Episode 8 during a doughnut pressure test. In that episode, Andres forgot to put holes in his doughnuts & they were undercooked in the center. Hey, I did start this review with admitting I'm a nerd who watches too many cooking competition shows. Uniform doneness aside, there was also the breadiness. If I'd been told these doughnuts were some kind of new take on Pan Dulce, maybe I would've liked them more. But given the expectation of a doughnut, what I tried at Parlor Doughnuts just wasn't it. The staff was great, & the toppings were fine. But with the word "dough" literally in the name of the product, to come up short there leaves something to be desired.

Everything was great honestly. No complaints. My wife REALLY loved the braised pork shoulder. My steak was excellent and even though it was free, $32 for a ribeye is the lowest you'll find anywhere. It was nice having not having to fight for a seat. Enjoying a cocktail on the patio in perfect weather is something everyone should try. Highly recommend coming to Mission Ave Bar & Grill for happy hour and to check out the new patio. Make sure to register for their mailing list to get birthday offers too!

From the juicy breakfast Burger to the dangerously good country benefit and spicy blood orange, everything feels a little too easy to fall in love with. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make it feel like your favorite neighborhood hangout -- even if it's your first time there. Honestly, if good food, great cocktails, and happy vibes had a love language... this place would be fluent.
