Great venue with spectacular views of the lake. Choose to sit inside or outside lots of space. Great beer and wine. Super friendly people. Highly recommend visit. Cheers

Loved the smoothie beers and Whoop Ass Seltzer and I don't like seltzers.

While up in the Finger Lakes on the Seneca Wine Trail, we wanted to try a brewery for something different. So glad that we tried Tin Barn. The employees are very kind and helpful. They love and take pride in their work and what they produce. I love things that are sweet so we got things like that on the menu. I loved the smoothie beers. They were so unique and flavorful. The Can of Whoop Ass was my favorite. It was so sweet. I can't remember the 4th one we got (top left). It was just ok. Such a beautiful place! We really enjoyed being there and the views. We even brought the Can of Whoop Ass home. I'll be slowly enjoying it. You must go and check them out.

Stopped here for lunch twice on our 4 day weekend. Fancy brewery with great drafts and tasty tacos. Service was fast. And you can't beat the view of Seneca Lake while you enjoy everything.

Beautiful place on the inside and outside. I try to come here whenever I get the opportunity but it is 1 1/2 hours from my house. We are so lucky to have a brewery of this caliber in the finger lakes. I have met the Owners: Dale and Lauren (his daughter) and they are the nicest most down to earth people you would ever meet!!! My request last year was to go there for my birthday and had a wonderful time and a drink with Dale. I went back several times since then and always a good time. I'm looking forward to checking out the Chester location. If you like great craft beer and the most beautiful view of Seneca lake you must go. The food is typical bar food.

This brewery has a heck of a view! Beers were pretty good. My wife loved the sours and the IPAs were just okay. Very strong flavors. I prefer a middle of the road beer to balance out stronger ones, but that's just me. Doesn't take away from the vibe at all. The sun was shining on a cold fall day so sitting outside was a good thing. Very friendly staff, dog friendly, and they are helpful when ordering.

We drove by and this place is so easy to see from the roadway. We stopped to see what this place was all about. Apparently it was another winery called "Sharkys" or something. The place is huge and maybe too large for this brewery, but it may need the space in the winter months for certain. We stopped here and they said they opened up maybe a year ago if I remember. I got a sample list of beers to sample, then ending up with a hazy IPA as always for me. We had food, ordered in the front, and pick it up when your pager goes off. The food was good, the staff was friendly and helpful on any questions, and how about that view, it's incredible from that high up. Overall great stop, will stop again as a great brewery to visit in the area.

This was one of our favorite stops while on Seneca Lake. Great ambiance, super nice staff. Great flights of beer and wine for non-beer drinkers. Lots of glasses, mugs, sweatshirts, shirts and hat for sale too.

This is the second time we've tried Tin Barn and again it has disappointed. It's unfortunate, because it's in such a beautiful location and has such wonderful views. This could really be a vibe. But it fails terribly. The service is meh, not terrible but just not welcoming. If it was my first trip to a brewery I may think this wasn't for me. Most breweries I've been to are very welcoming and willing to work with you on selecting the right beers. I don't need that type of guidance but I've watched staff all but ignore people who were obvious struggling to choose. Maybe it was a one time thing. The beer. Awful, no other way to describe it. Between the two of us we had 8 beers yesterday in 2 flights. 7 of the 8 were drain pours, 1 was tolerable but not good. 4 IPAs, 2 sours, and 2 seltzers. The last time we were here we had 3 IPAs, 1 stout, 1 Pilsner and 3 sours. 7/8 drain pours again. 2 tolerable beers, both sours (out of 16) equals 14 drain pours. Now before anyone rips on this review, we've been to every top brewery in New England including Bissel Bros, Maine Brewing, Alchemist, Lawson's, Hill Farmstead, Fox, etc. we know beer. It's not that our tastes are off, it's just not a good brewery. I read the reviews and wonder who is giving this a 5 and what are they drinking here. Maybe we're missing it, but the sours are often referenced and I can tell you these would be rejected by Foam in VT as not passable for sale. It's a shame because it's in the best location ever. Anyone with real brewing chops could make a fortune on the Seneca wine trail. Hudson Valley Brewing would have a lock on the FLX region! I hope you guys are reading this, as we come back every year.

Interesting spot. Gorgeous views. Plenty of parking. Beers were limited and not exactly to my preference. They had 2 IPAs which I know I don't like, so tried the others in a flight. Everything was very sweet. Should have gone with the Lager. Any way, every one has different taste buds and you may like their beers. I had the ground beef tacos which were ok. The system for ordering and then getting your food seams to work. Can't say the team was overly welcoming. As a female stopping on my own for lunch and a flight, I can't say they were the most friendly. The friendliest they got was when I asked for reccomendations. Outside of that, they seemed annoyed I was there. Expensive. A flight and beef tacos cost me $30+. For the price, I probably won't visit again. However, I am all about people making their own decisions. The place inside and out is absolutely gorgeous.

We have been to the first location a bunch of times. But we were up in finger lakes and decided to check it out. Loved it. The beer, the service, the view excellent! We went to Ithaca brewery right before. It was packed but the beer was gross. Tin barn is way way better!!

Tons of fruity sours and IPA variations with a beautiful view. Came on a late Tuesday afternoon and had the most perfect weather to sit in the Adirondack chairs and enjoy the lake. It's a very large, gorgeous space where I can see more formal events being held here. They have a small merchandise area with the cutest plaid glasses. I wish I had the room for them at home! The kitchen wasn't open yet but it is coming soon. Thankfully they did have tasty Bavarian pretzels. Can't wait to see what this brewery turns into, as they just opened this location Memorial Day weekend. Highly recommend!

Amazing beer, food, view and staff!!

There are a few really good breweries in the area and Scale House is right up there with them. If you've read any of my other brewery reviews, you know my top three considerations are outdoor seating (meaning it's dog friendly), convenient food choices, and of course the quality of the beer. They have a spacious covered deck and a great lawn area, so their outdoor seating is excellent. They have an outdoor stage and we were fortunate to get to see some of the local talent performing the afternoon we were there. The inside area is also pretty roomy for a brewery and has more of the industrial/earthy feel that I dig, rather than a contemporary vibe. They also have a built-in pizza shop and it appears as though many patrons go there as much for the pizza as the beer. My one regret from our trip is that I didn't take advantage of the opportunity to grab a pie there...it looked fantastic. Top it all off with a solid beer selection and Scale House is definitely a place that I'd go a little out of my way to visit. I am going to try to talk my wife into heading back there...mostly to get a shot at trying a Meat Special. My rating scale: 1 - Just don't 2 - You'll survive, but there are better choices close by 3 - Good choice if you're in the area 4 - I'd drive 30 minutes out of my way just to come here 5 - I'd try to convince my wife to drive an hour just to come here

An aside: don't listen to your douchy Manhattan cousin who says the Finger Lakes "aren't quite a destination" - these lakes are legit. Anyways, it's lovely up here. Now my new lady also takes care of her oldest's six year-old during the summer so he's up here too and is a wily cat, mad obsessed with that Italian Brain Rot bag right now, and...well, let me just tell you... So we're just walking in downtown Penn Yan apropos of nothing, and there's this joint with a leprechaun on the wall called Silverbird. We all walk in not expecting anything, and holy heck this place looked like a 1970s time warp inside. But the staff was nice and the grub was decent, and what really made this a hit was the totally random vintage arcade inside. For just a few quarters you can play skeeball, bowling, and baseball pin ball until your heart's content. And hand to god, the kid didn't make one single reference to Italian Brain Rot the entire time we were there. Thank you, Silverbird. From the bottom of my bitter yet vintage arcade loving heart.

We each ordered the Caesar salad, which was half of a Romaine lettuce sliced lengthwise dressed with cheese and dressing. It was tasty, but a lot of food. I ordered the fra Diavlo seafood pasta with rigatoni. My wife had one of the specials, which looked a bit like beef on weck without the sesame seeds. Mine was good, but not all spicy like I was expecting. Hers was actually quite good. Both were loaded with garlic, which seems to be a staple of this place. Because it was a Friday evening and the place was packed, the noise level was quite high. This was especially true because behind me were two large tables of noisy diners. Once they left it was back to a more normal level. Our server Lydia was terrific. Overall staffing was quite good. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Well go back!

Usually bar food is terrible. But she said this place actually makes great food. And I said OK, I'll give it a try. My friend's go-to order is Philly cheesesteak, so I ordered the same thing on a wrap. The sandwiches and wraps comes with chips and they add an extra charge if you substitute it for fries or onion rings. My friend's husband got the deal for a delmonico steak and 2 sides for $19. We also got chicken fingers and fries for her kids. We called in the order, and they said it would be about an hour. Which is fine since we were in no rush and they were probably busy. The food was ready when we went to pick it up an hour later. Our whole order came to around $66 with tip. The food was hot and came in these Styrofoam boxes. There was a very large generous portion of chicken tenders, and the fries looked good. The Philly cheesesteak looked interesting as they used ground beef instead of thinly sliced steak. The onion rings were huge, and the chips looked like fresh kettle cooked chips. The Philly cheesesteak tasted ok, I think it's better than a sandwich rather than a wrap. I only ate half but was still very full. The onion rings were very crispy, and tangy sauce that came with the onion rings reminds me of the Burger King onion ring sauce but better. It was pretty good. We ordered the delmonico steak with fries and Mac & cheese. The Mac & cheese was really good, it tasted fresh, and was made with sharp cheddar cheese, and it was really melty. The chicken tenders were amazing. I haven't had chicken tenders this good in years. They were not dry at all, and were flavorful. The only downside is my friend says sometimes depending on the chef, the food might not be that good. But it seems like for now if you go on a Saturday night you'll have amazing food!
