This place caught my wife's eye while we were heading to our next stop. So we stopped. It's a bit confusing on how to enter the place. Could go in the back or the side, but the front is the main entrance. It's a house turned into a brewery. But not any brewery like a brew pub from over the pond where the beer is served at room temperature v/s sitting in a cooler getting cold. She had a Red Ale and I had a Pale Ale, the Pale Ale didn't taste like a juicy drink that I'm used to having here in the states. The room temperature didn't bother me. I think I just liked or enjoyed the red ale a lot more than my beer. The atmosphere inside is really cool. Reminds me what a pub would look like in the UK somewhere. We were caught by the place in the back called the Snug. We went in the back to enjoy our beers and get some photos. Had asked someone to help us take a photo. The Snug we learned is a place where people rent out for special events. It has a nice outlook in the back of the yard overlooking the lake. I highly recommend stopping here, it was a good stop.

Cool place to check out! My Husband loved the fact that it looks like a normal house on the outside but inside it is transformed into this really cool pub, British style. One of the bathrooms was Spice Girl themed! Staff made you feel welcomed. Wish we had planned to stay for an event they had going on from 6-9 that night down on the lower end of the property called "The Snug", which is their event area. We will be back again.

This place is nice inside. We had a colonial IPA.It was room temperature. It was also not really carbonated. It was not bad. It was not for me. The place is cool. The bartender was very nice and friendly. It's worth checking out.

If you like a good beer selection this is the place for you. We tried a porter and a stout. I personally liked the porter better but a dark beer is always what I'll almost always choose. My husband and I both had the pies. Hubby's choice was steak and blue cheese in a buttery crust. Delicious! My was the cottage pie. Minced beef with mashed potatoes and cheese. A good selection of veggies too. Both meals served with mashed potatoes, gravy and mushy peas. My first time for the peas, everything was yummy! The view is spectacular on a large covered deck overlooking Seneca Lake. A perfect place for a pint (or 2!).

I really wanted to do a wine tasting but all the wineries were closing. I found this place and decided to stop in so my husband could at least have a beer. To my surprise, they had a few local wines and cocktails on their menu so I was able to try a wine from a local winery which I loved. My husband tried a flight of beers. They were different than anything he's had before but he really enjoyed the experience. The waitress was great and they even made a mocktail for my daughter. The view from the deck was gorgeous! I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a friendly and unique beer tasting experience!

Once again - My best friend (wife) and me enjoying a sunny pre - spring road trip :)

Offseason - menu selection less than what is online. Owners dogs were begging as we were only ones who had food which was quite greasy

Fun traditional English pub. You would think you just stepped in from Piccadilly Square!

Not the type of brews expected. Not cold. Many stout choices. I personally prefer unsweet beer.

Once for a bonfire! Lol It's a local thing. They have a wonderful casual deck. I love sitting out there. On this last visit, we skipped the beers, and went straight for Babe's burgers. They are stationed on the deck. I ordered their burger with carmelized onions, tomatoes, and lettuce. Pickle on the side. The tomato was a farm fresh Tomato which is AWESOME! It was a local farm grown tomato, and the burger was delish. We ordered a small fries, and 3 of us shared them, and still threw some out. Yes, a small is that large. They don't sell drinks at the babes burger window. We got those at the bar. They had a free water jug, with plastic cups. I ordered a Waterloo sparking water, one friend had regular water, and the last had a soda. Because the owner makes their own beer there. I highly recommend checking them out, for beers and burgers. We didn't order any this time, because we were getting ready to go on a long drive. But....Since I live there, I can confirm their beer is worth it! I love their casual atmosphere, it's a great place to go to talk and dine. It's a local place, so it wouldn't be awkward to see go there and run into friends and start combining tables. Everyone is super friendly, so if you're ever lonely or bored, it's a great place to stop by, and hang out, you're almost guaranteed to make new friends. Parking can be tricky if they are busy, but people park on the street as long as they don't block any cars from getting by. I also love that they allow dogs, on leash, and they can't beg. Common sense rules, so don't leave your dog at home. Bring them out!

Service was very friendly and accommodating. We'd visited the original location multiple times in the past, but the Watkins Glen location right on the lake is great. A nice variety of craft beer and cocktails are on the menu and flights are available even outside. The food menu has a good variety of items and everything being served around us looks tasty. We snacked on the poutine, which was loaded with gravy and very good. Lucky Hare produces a solid line-up of beers that include a variety of styles from IPA & Bitters to Stoudts & red ales. I'd have to say that my favorite thing about this place is the outdoor patio views. You get great sunsets here and are on the Seneca lake waterfront amongst the marina boats. These make it worth a visit. Also, these are the two reasons I'm giving this a three star rating and not a two. I do have to say that I didn't find the food or the service that exceptional. There is a lot of fried foods and what I would consider one step up from bar foods. The clam chowder and the ahi tuna salad were good choices. Their cheese burger was ok but not great. The staff seemed rushed, weren't really smiling or engaging or seemingly having fun. None were that memorable or made an impression including the bar tender. I requested to be seated in a specific area outdoors but even though there were tables still available they said it was "too busy". Before I even got my first drink they were seating other guests at those same tables for newer arriving guests. Yes, I noticed. It wasn't even close to closing or full capacity but most of the evening I felt like everyone working there were trying to rush us out the door so that they could go home. We had ordered an exceptional amount of food and drinks just so we could try a wide selection of their offerings. There were only two of us but we literally had three full drinks on the table and another full meal of uneaten food yet and the waitress was asking us if we were ready to leave and check out. In general, sure I might stop in for a quick drink and a view on a sunny day but I wouldn't entertain eating there again or spending my valuable time there. There are far better choices in the town of Watkins Glen.

I ponder the menu, it's a decent sized menu, with a good amount of items I decided to go for my old standby, the poutine. I put in my order, and he brings it back quick. It was a decent portion. The fries were well seasoned, crispy on the outside, yet tender on the inside. They were very good. The gravy. Was just the right texture. Not too thin, and not too thick. It was a good quality gravy. It had a deep rich flavor. The one problem, is that there was a very small amount of the cheese curds. They were basically not even the full cheese curds, just little chunks here and there. What cheese curd I got was good, there just was hardly any of it. Let's face it. Poutine without cheese curds is just "gravy fries." Even though there was hardly any of the cheese, curds, overall, it was still a good meal. I left stuffed. Poutine and a soda, the price was reasonable. I would like to try some of the other items on the menu. Thanks.
