This was the BeST pizza I've ever eaten !! Service was in point and everything we ate was delicious! Had the Hawaiian and the Margarita pizza Ana the meatball sliders ! So fresh ! Beers were awesome as well ! Beautiful views ! Will be back when I'm this area !!

If you haven't tried the Popeye pizza, do yourself a favor and order one immediately! This is one of my favorite pizzas ever. It's also just as delicious the next day. I'm a vegetarian, but the rest of my family isn't and they also all love the meatballs. The service is fine. Friendly enough. The ambiance is also fine. There is indoor seating, which sometimes gets a bit loud, and lots of outdoor seating, on both a deck and out in the yard. Highly recommend this place for the food!

First noticed this place as I was passing it, and after a brief pause, I decided to turn around and try it, because they have a deck for eating with a view of Seneca Lake. First came my G3O IPA beer, followed by the Popeye pizza, a garlic pizza with spinach and Feta cheese. I usually have garlic pizza made with mozzarella cheese, but Feta was actually a very tasty change of pace. And the waitress was very friendly and talked me into having a cannoli for dessert, and it was much better than expected, so thanks to the waitress!

December in the finger lakes mean less food options and earlier dinners. We were lucky that scale house was open and also 5 min from where we were staying! The pizza was delish! The crust was perfection, so chewy. They did not skimp on the toppings. I loved "the ouchy"- a hot honey pepperoni pizza and my husband liked the Alabama hot chicken and pickles. We were glad they were able to do a halfsy so we could both get what we wanted! Beers were good, too, I particularly liked the cannoli barrel aged stout.

I have been living in Hector part time for years, yet I have never checked this place out. Went tonight by myself and had a wonderful time. It's the place where tourists and locals truly mix. They have a lawn area for self serve, which means you can order your drinks in plastic cups, to go cans, and food to go, then enjoy them at the picnic tables they have out there. It's also in front t of the stage, so locals bring their own chairs and hang out, dance, and enjoy. Inside the restaurant they have deck that you can sit out side, listen to the band and have a beautiful view of Se wca lake. Inside they have your typical tables and bar. The ambiance is super cool. It set up for socializing. As I mentioned earlier, I went alone and I was jabbering the entire time with staff and other locals. I felt completely comfortable walking in by myself. The staff was awesome, friendly, funny, and attentive. The parking gets pretty jammed when a band is playing, I was glad I showed up an hour before they started, when I left people were waiting in their cars for people to leave, and parking is pretty extensive so it was surprising. I ordered a beer flight, for 12.00 you get to order 4 of their craft beers. It's a great way to figure out what you like. I have to admit, the alcohol content was pretty high in some of the beers. The flights are 3oz each. I had a small buzz when I finished. Thank goodness they provided lots of water to cleanse your palate. I ended up settling on the cream ale. But only had one, to go with my Ouchy pizza. Which is an awesome small pepperoni pizza with hot honey drizzled on it. It was mouth watering delicious. There was a ton of spicy pepperoni on it. The dough on the pizza was one of the best I've ever had. Nice and thin in the center and puffy and crispy on the outside. They had an interesting looking pizza with pickles on it. I wasn't brave enough, but the couple next to me ordered it and said it was delicious.

A fun brewery to head to for dinner! A lot of places close pretty early in the Finger Lakes, but luckily most breweries stayed open until around 8PM or so. We made our way to Scale House on a Friday night for dinner, and we were excited to see they had live music! Despite the limited options for food in the area and the music ongoing, we had no issues snagging a table outside. Service was pretty solid - checking in on us enough but not overbearingly so. I will comment that there were a ton of flies / bugs in the patio area (we had to cover up our food while in between bites), but that's no one's fault! Since it was a brewery, of course we needed to explore their beer options! We were pleased that they offered flights, especially since they have a ton of choices! My husband and I both opted for flights, him focusing more on their IPAs and me focusing more on the ales and sours. I particularly liked the kettle sour, but all my tasters hit the spot. My husband shared similar sentiments with his brews! For food, we started off with the meatball sliders which were fine - nothing too much to write home about, pretty standard fare. I liked the baguette that was paired with the meatballs, but the bread was kinda hearty and made for a difficult bite (wound up fork and knifing the dish instead). A lighter bread may have been better! We split the broccoli and feta pizza, which was nice, but again, not something I would rave about. The feta was a unique touch, and the broccoli added a nice crunch, but the pizza itself was pretty standard fare. It had a moderately thick crust that was enough to hold up all the goodies; I typically prefer thinner, but this worked for this pie. The meatball started and a small pizza was enough to feed my husband and I for dinner, and prices for everything were fairly reasonable given the portion size. Overall, Scale House was a fun spot for dinner in the Finger Lakes. Their beer was stronger than their food, but we did enjoy our pizza and meatballs overall. The live music on weekends is a great touch and made the experience more fun. I would recommend Scale House for anyone looking for a convenient dinner and a solid beer (if you tire of wine!) while visiting the Finger Lakes!

Excellent pizza and meatballs, fast service and live music. A small deck for outdoor seating but plenty of room inside.

My husband and I each ordered a flight here- great trying the nice variety. . I LOVED THE hazy IPA & we both enjoyed the peanut butter stout, which we grabbed a 4 pack of to take home. This was after a yummy meal which we shared and still had left overs of: 5 meatballs, salad & and their cheese quesadilla. Staff was super friendly, service fast- everything clean, and they were open late and here in off-season. Additionally- view of lake was beautiful. It's a great stop in Seneca. We opted for beers here but noticed they carry nearby wines, too.

Our next stop of the day took us to our first distillery visit of the trip, and wow--Finger Lakes…read moreDistilling did not disappoint. What surprised us most? This was our very first time visiting, and we hadn't even realized they had been established since 2007! Knowing that they had been perfecting their craft for over 17 years, we were eager to dive into the tasting experience and see what they had to offer. The tasting room had a laid-back yet polished feel, with a friendly and knowledgeable staff ready to guide us through their lineup of small-batch, handcrafted spirits. The distillery prides itself on using locally sourced grains and fruits, and you could tell from the first sip that quality and attention to detail were at the heart of their process. The Tasting Lineup I opted for a tasting of four different spirits, and after enjoying those, I was encouraged to try two more--a bonus that made the experience even better. Here's what I sampled: 1 Straight Bourbon - This was beautifully balanced, with sweet corn and vanilla upfront, followed by a warming spicy rye kick on the finish. Smooth yet complex, it was a fantastic introduction to their bourbon lineup. 2 Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon - A true standout, this one had rich caramel and toasted oak flavors, along with the perfect balance of spice and warmth. Aged for at least four years and bottled at 100 proof, it had a bold yet refined character that made it easy to appreciate. 3 McKenzie Straight Rye - If you're a fan of rye whiskey, this one is for you. It had that signature spicy rye bite, but what really made it unique was the sweet sherry cask finish, adding a layer of richness and complexity that lingered beautifully. 4 Bottled-in-Bond Rye - One of the most interesting pours of the day, this rye was bursting with flavors of chocolate, nougat, and dried red fruit. The influence of the barrel aging was prominent, giving it a decadent, almost dessert-like quality while still holding onto its classic rye spice. After those four, I couldn't resist trying two additional spirits: 5 Apple Brandy (Aged 10 Years) - A masterfully aged apple brandy that showcased deep, caramelized apple flavors, balanced with warm baking spices and oak influence. The 10 years in the barrel really allowed this spirit to develop incredible depth and smoothness. 6 Grappa - This was an unexpected favorite--simply sensational. Grappa can sometimes be overpowering, but this one was smooth, refined, and packed with rich grape flavors, making it one of the best versions I've tried. Taking a Piece of Finger Lakes Distilling Home While every single pour was impressive, the one that stood out the most for me was the Straight Bourbon--so much so that I had to bring a bottle home. It reminded me of a classic Rye Whiskey, with just enough spice to keep things interesting but smooth enough to sip neat. Final Thoughts Finger Lakes Distilling far exceeded expectations, and I can't believe it took us this long to visit! With their commitment to quality, incredible range of spirits, and inviting tasting experience, this is a must-visit for anyone exploring the Finger Lakes region--whether you're a bourbon lover, rye enthusiast, or just appreciate finely crafted spirits. It was the perfect stop to break up a day of wineries and breweries, offering something distinctly different yet equally enjoyable. Next time, I'd love to stay a little longer, maybe sip on a whiskey cocktail and take in the atmosphere even more. Cheers to great whiskey and new discoveries!

Had a fun time. Went in by myself. Had a good day, felt accomplished and needed a break. I had one…read moreof their Vodka Spritzers. They had options to infuse it with different flavors. I chose blueberry and ginger. It was delicious. I loved that she added 4 plump delicious blueberries on a toothpick in the drink. The bartender/hostess Lisa was super nice and helpful. I sat and had my cocktail. Chatted up with some tourists, it was all very pleasant and relaxing. I love their Vodka that is made with grapes. It's nice and smooth. Would make an excellent Martini. The vibe is super welcoming. I was in there during a slow time, of day in the middle of the week, but they still had a fair amount of business during this time. It was just what I needed, quite pleasant conversation, and a cool cocktail. I imagine it can get quite crowded and loud during the weekend. They have some cool gift items, martini shaker sets, Olives and Olive juice, and some different flavored syrups that they actually use behind the bar. The cherry on top for me would have been if they served Martinis. The bartender was so sweet, when I ordered one, she said it had been a while, but was willing it give it a go. I declined and asked for her suggestion, and as a result I had my wonderful cocktail mentioned above. So, all was good in my world. Plus Lisa and I had fun making a new creation. She said she never did made it with blueberry and ginger! It was fantastic and refreshing. My reason for declining the martini, was because for me the perfect Martini is served in a chilled Martini glass. Which I don't think they had. I did find it odd that you can buy everything you need to buy and take home to make a martini, but do not have it on the menu. Hopefully in the future they will make their own signature martini, perhaps blueberry. Cause I tell you that blueberry syrup, in a chilled Martini glass, with a splash of vermouth, with their grape Vodka, and the blueberry garnish, would have been sublime! I will definitely be back and In the end I was super happy with the drink, it was much more refreshing than a martini. Thank you Lisa it was an excellent suggestion. I ended up buying a bottle of Vodka, and the blueberry syrup. The blueberry syrup had a hint of vinegar in it, and I thought it would make an excellent reduction sauce for my deserts. I also thought I could make a nice salad dressing with it too. Or maybe it's just time for me to chill my Martini glasses at home. Ooh, I almost forgot. They have out outdoor seating, and a woman came in and ordered two drinks, and mentioned she was sitting outside because she has her dog. The bartender told her dogs are welcome both inside and outside. I loved hearing this, maybe next time I will bring my dog. This is also one of the things I love about this side of the finger lakes, dogs are welcome in a lot of businesses.
