Pulled into this Winery on a whim a while back and am glad I did. I've come here 3 times this year (despite living 5 hours away) and have never had anything but a fun experience. Absolutely recommend to anyone doing the Seneca Lake wine trail or just in the area for fun. They have all sorts of options for Wine tastings - the basic version of sipping a few of their top choices, wine & cheese pairings, a "blindfolded" taste test, and even seasonal options like the Wine/Pickle pairing they do on Summer weekends. The staff are always super friendly and outgoing, and have something for everyone: reds, whites, sweet, dry, classic tastes, brand-new flavors (like their famous Margarita-tasting wine - yes, that's a real thing and yes it's exactly as tasty as it sounds), and also a few ciders and beers that are 100% worth a try as well. I had an ice-cream stout one day, and came back the next for some of their Hard Cider and the Pickle/wine pairing. Delicious. Clearly it's a popular spot especially on the weekend - they're one of the few wineries that's open until 6:00 pm, and they have an expanded space for large groups as well. The wine here was excellent! I came all the way from Manhattan, New York, and was very pleased with this winery. The ambiance is very relaxing, and I loved the toasters against the wall, which adds a creative touch. There's also a tasting room in the back if you want to do that with a group of friends. Toast made my Winery list because of their pickle pairing. Wine is assigned a pickle to try and the staff explain what note pay attention to while trying them together. Well the wines were good, the pickles are what really made this a four star. We wound up purchasing two pickle jars bring home and I highly recommend the taco pickles. read more

We had a great time today at the Toast Winery. Everyone that works there is very attentive and friendly. 5 tastings for $8 is a pretty good deal. We enjoyed the wines that we tasted. I like sweet wines. I really liked the Bubbly Brindar (wine bubbly wine), and Celebration Red (tasted like awesome sangria). The Rita was ok. It was amazing that it tasted like a margarita without margarita ingredients. My husband liked his dry wines. I didn't pay attention to the names he really liked unfortunately because I was enjoying mine. We also got the smoked Gouda cheese which was amazing. The tangerine cider was really good too. We were here looking for different wineries that we haven't tried and this place I do not remember. It has a cool logo of a flame and a winery called Toast can't be a bad thing. As I read about this winery before visiting, the owner has something in common such as me as a home wine maker, working in corporate america and working as a college professor. Wine is what relaxes me but it's a lot of hard work for sure, happy to see someone made this a dream and it's going well. We arrived inside sat at a table provided a list of wines to choose from in our tasting. Our waitress or waiter would come over and fill our glass up with a sample of our choice of wine that we wanted to try. The high falution was my favorite and purchased 3 bottles of this to go. My husband and I stopped here for our last tasting of our annual FLX trip. We stopped by on a Monday around noon and were seated immediately at the bar. The menu is huge with dry, sweet, and bubbly wines. Interesting options were a Pet Nat Muscat Ottanel that was very interesting and good (my husband thought it tasted like "hard sprite" which is accurate, it had a bite to it and lots of lime), Bubbly Dry Riesling, and the barrel aged ice wine (it was smooth and not syrupy). Their watermelon sangria also sounded interesting, which is made with the Bubbly Dry Riesling, watermelon juice, and miscellaneous fruit. I'd also be interested in doing their black glass tasting, where you guess the wine. We weren't tempted to buy anything, but enjoyed our visit and will return in the future. read more

I will try to keep this short and sweet. I have been probably 4 times now, and will keep returning when I'm in the area. Yelp does a disservice to the new owners/winery by keeping the reviews for the previous one listed. The main draw for me, as it should be for anyone, is the wine. The choice to create various wines such as the petillant naturel and Zweigelt (and doing them justice) definitely has Toast at the front of the the pack for the region and likely the country once more recognized. The staff and owner are also just fantastic people. The tastings are always done well and done right. If I'm on the wine trail and I only get to get to hit one winery, this is it. read more

We were in the area working at Watkins Glen for a NASCAR race, Go Bowling at the Glen, and looked for a winery to go to that was open a little later for some tastings (they're open until 7pm on a Saturday!) and we couldn't help but to go here JUST because of the name! Apparently we aren't the only ones who do that... Not only is the staff super friendly and welcoming, but they also have a nice selection of clothing with "ass" or "pompous ass" quotes on them, and even one of those signs you can poke your head through for a fun photo of you as a woman with standing next to a donkey. Their "small" cheese platter makes you feel like you ordered a large by mistake. I really enjoyed it here for a quick stop. Unfortunately we were a bit exhausted from working in the sun all day, but if we ever venture out there again, I would definitely like to sit outside on their patio. read more

This was our second stop on our day of wineries. It was very generic looks like they are just starting out. We had to go just because of the name. Wine was ok we did end up buying a bottle of smart ass white. But the shirts and wine accessories were a big draw. We end up buying 2 shirts. Employee pouring wine was pretty blah and forgot to give my husband one of the tastings and just walked away. So we had to get her back and she seemed mad that we disturbed her from doing nothing. If they get there stuff together they could really have a good thing going. They need get some customer friendly funny wine pourers and have some fun with their product. read more

My wife and I had a wonderful time at this little winery. We were greeted warmly when we walked in on a beautiful Friday afternoon in early May, well before the main tourist time in the region. There was another couple at the bar and there were two women tending to the wine bar. We were given a menu of choices, and with the excellent suggestions of one of the bartenders (I apologize for not remembering her name), we made our choices. I am a big fan of big, woody dry wines and the Barrel Aged Dry Riesling at this vineyard is excellent. My wife and I made all different choices and we both got to try what the other chose. I am not a fan of "table reds" since, in my experience, they tend to be on the very sweet side. But this winery makes a blend called "Highfalutin" which is an excellent table red, sure to satisfy anyone that you serve it to. It is a blend of their Cabernet Franc (which is very, very good, by the way) and another red (I forget what it is). It is not too sweet, nor is it too dry. Perfect. The staff here was upbeat and friendly, informative and helpful. At some point another couple came in and the woman who had been helping us through the tasting was attending to them. The other woman stepped right in. Her name was Jayne and in the course of our conversation, we found out that she is the wife of the winemaker and they own the vineyard. We talked about their history and the winery and she even gave us what turned out to be an excellent recommendation for a nice anniversary dinner on the lake at Keuka. (By the way, Jayne, the lemon blueberry marscarpone cake was the best!) We truly enjoyed our time here with this crew. Despite our plan to return to the region to check out as many of the wineries as we can, I will return here again. This was a great experience. read more

Group of friends and myself were doing wineries up and down Seneca Lake. We stopped because of the name. We wanted to see what it was like. The logo was super cute but that was the only thing we liked. The wines were nothing special. The tasting really got on my nerves. Instead of serving everyone their first wine then second wine then third. The lady went down the list and served each wine when someone had that wine. For our group everyone liked dry wines but myself. So I never got my first wine for 10 minutes. And my friends waited an additional 15 minutes for her to get to my wines. The wine really is mediocre compared to some of the other wineries in the area. I agree with other reviewers that the tasting felt very rushed, almost as if they couldn't get us out of there fast enough. Considering there was only one other couple tasting wine, I thought that was a little strange. They don't leave much time to talk about each wine individually and you almost feel awkward asking questions because they seem to pour the wine and then basically run away. To be honest they seem to be more hung up on their "kiss my ass" and "pompous ass" gimmicky merchandise than the quality and value of their wine. If you do go, I recommend trying the Riesling. Once again, compared to other wineries, I won't be traveling back to do another tasting. read more
