Had the girls come in town for a wellness weekend of Yoga, sounds baths, cheese tastings, waterfalls, and the lake. I live in Hector and have been to Lucky Hare a couple of times. Once for a bonfire! Lol It's a local thing. They have a wonderful casual deck. I love sitting out there. On this last visit, we skipped the beers, and went straight for Babe's burgers. They are stationed on the deck. I ordered their burger with carmelized onions, tomatoes, and lettuce. Pickle on the side. The tomato was a farm fresh Tomato which is AWESOME! It was a local farm grown tomato, and the burger was delish. We ordered a small fries, and 3 of us shared them, and still threw some out. Yes, a small is that large. They don't sell drinks at the babes burger window. We got those at the bar. They had a free water jug, with plastic cups. I ordered a Waterloo sparking water, one friend had regular water, and the last had a soda. Because the owner makes their own beer there. I highly recommend checking them out, for beers and burgers. We didn't order any this time, because we were getting ready to go on a long drive. But....Since I live there, I can confirm their beer is worth it! I love their casual atmosphere, it's a great place to go to talk and dine. It's a local place, so it wouldn't be awkward to see go there and run into friends and start combining tables. Everyone is super friendly, so if you're ever lonely or bored, it's a great place to stop by, and hang out, you're almost guaranteed to make new friends. Parking can be tricky if they are busy, but people park on the street as long as they don't block any cars from getting by. I also love that they allow dogs, on leash, and they can't beg. Common sense rules, so don't leave your dog at home. Bring them out! read more

We loved that we could bring our pup and eat outside. We ordered a beer (lemon) and a cider at the bar and we ordered a bacon burger with a small fries and a side apple salad...all delicious. The burger was good but I warn you about the fries....they are super good but a small fries is about a half of pound plenty for 3 people. I heard from another customer that the large size is a full pound....holy cow! The salad was delicious too. You can tell it was fresh lettuce (I think butter lettuce) with lots a blue cheese, walnuts and apples. One order is a meal. I am so glad we got it to share because we were satisfied with that. It's fun to sit outside and we met some really nice people (locals) who made us feel welcome. I recommend for sure. The parking was full so that tells you something. read more

As our final day in the Finger Lakes began, we decided to kick things off with a brewery stop--and what better place than Lucky Hare Brewery? We had been meaning to check this place out for a while, and today was finally the day. With its laid-back atmosphere, welcoming vibe, and a great selection of beers, it turned out to be an excellent choice to start the day. The Tasting Lineup I opted to sample a few different brews, each bringing something unique to the table: 1 Bad Rabbit Pilsner (4.5% ABV) - A classic, crisp, and refreshing pilsner. It had clean malt character, light floral hop notes, and a super smooth finish--perfect for those who appreciate an easy-drinking, no-fuss beer. Sometimes, simple is best, and this one nailed it. 2 Zealander New England IPA (6.6% ABV) - This one stood out immediately. Bursting with juicy, tropical fruit flavors, the Zealander delivered bright citrus, hints of pineapple, and a smooth, pillowy mouthfeel. It struck the perfect balance between hazy and hoppy, making it a deliciously drinkable NEIPA. 3 Live Action IPA (6.8% ABV) - A well-executed, classic IPA that offered a bold hop presence without being overpowering. It had a balanced mix of citrus, pine, and slight bitterness, making it a great option for both IPA enthusiasts and those new to hop-forward beers. While all three were solid choices, I ultimately went with the Zealander New England IPA for my full pour--because when a beer hits all the right notes, you just have to commit. Atmosphere & Final Thoughts Beyond the great beer, Lucky Hare Brewery had an awesome vibe. The staff was friendly, the space was inviting, and it had that perfect small-town craft brewery feel that makes you want to kick back, stay a while, and try even more of their lineup. It's safe to say that Lucky Hare lived up to the hype, and I'd definitely love to return on a warmer day to hang out on their patio, soak in the scenery, and enjoy another round. Very nice brewery with a solid beer selection. I really enjoyed my strawberry wheat and hubby likes their English ale and IPA. Nice relaxing atmosphere, kid and pet friendly. They also have an ordering window for burgers and fries (Babe's burger). Burgers are not cheap ($15-$18, doesn't come with fries, need to be ordered separately) but are tasty and made fresh. Really cool spot to visit in the Finger Lakes region! We actually stopped here since they were one of the only places opened late, and we are so glad we did. They have a great selection of different types of beer, something for everyone. The service was great, the gentleman behind the bar was very informative and friendly. He was even able to give us some great suggestions of other places to visit on our trip. Social distancing was properly enforced, and everyone was required to wear a mask. Late Sunday afternoon, drove over to this unassuming brewery which looks like a re-purposed home. Tight parking off on the road, but overall picturesque area. Despite the taproom being cramped, was a welcome sight to see the furry friends walking around. I stopped in here on Saturday while winery hopping around Seneca Lake. It's become the unwritten rule. One brewery amidst the wineries :) From the moment we pulled up I loved this place. The brewhouse door was open so I made a point to stop over to snap a picture before heading into the tap room. The brewer told me I could come in and then we started chatting. He was in the middle of making a saison and it smelled absolutely amazing. The tap room is smaller but has ample seating for small groups. It's intimate without feeling crowded. There's also a beautiful live-in cat named Daryl who's incredibly lovey. I went with a flight since that was my best option for trying as much as possible. The tasting pours are $2-$2.50 for 5oz, which I think is fair. A flight comes with 5 but you can add on if you want. I enjoyed everything I sampled except the double IPA, but I knew I probably wouldn't like that as I'm not a fan of IPAs to begin with. I took a 22oz. bottle of the milk stout to go ($8) and bought a sweatshirt because I'm all about supporting local breweries when and where I can. I hope to make it back here this summer. read more

My wife and I were camping locally for the weekend and this place came highly recommended. Indeed, it was beautifully located above Seneca Lake and we enjoyed a cider at one of the outdoor picnic tables on a beautiful fall day. The cider was very tasty. My complaint with this place, comes at the price. I ordered us two ciders, priced at $8 dollars each. When she poured them and brought me the glasses, I nearly laughed. When I signed the bill with tax and tip being close to $20 bucks, I almost thought to say something but bit my tongue. They were poured in TASTER glasses, so maybe like 6-8 OZ, something like that. We sat outside sipping our ciders and enjoying the view before we departed and headed down the lake. I thought to ask before we left what made the apples in these ciders so damn special. After we drove off my wife and I actually suggested to each other that maybe the girl just stupidly poured our refreshing adult beverages into the wrong size glass. It doesn't really matter, but id love for a moderator on here to get back to me and let me know either why the ciders are so expensive and in such small glasses; or in fact maybe a mistake was made.
