As our final day in the Finger Lakes began, we decided to kick things off with a brewery stop--and what better place than Lucky Hare Brewery? We had been meaning to check this place out for a while, and today was finally the day. With its laid-back atmosphere, welcoming vibe, and a great selection of beers, it turned out to be an excellent choice to start the day. The Tasting Lineup I opted to sample a few different brews, each bringing something unique to the table: 1 Bad Rabbit Pilsner (4.5% ABV) - A classic, crisp, and refreshing pilsner. It had clean malt character, light floral hop notes, and a super smooth finish--perfect for those who appreciate an easy-drinking, no-fuss beer. Sometimes, simple is best, and this one nailed it. 2 Zealander New England IPA (6.6% ABV) - This one stood out immediately. Bursting with juicy, tropical fruit flavors, the Zealander delivered bright citrus, hints of pineapple, and a smooth, pillowy mouthfeel. It struck the perfect balance between hazy and hoppy, making it a deliciously drinkable NEIPA. 3 Live Action IPA (6.8% ABV) - A well-executed, classic IPA that offered a bold hop presence without being overpowering. It had a balanced mix of citrus, pine, and slight bitterness, making it a great option for both IPA enthusiasts and those new to hop-forward beers. While all three were solid choices, I ultimately went with the Zealander New England IPA for my full pour--because when a beer hits all the right notes, you just have to commit. Atmosphere & Final Thoughts Beyond the great beer, Lucky Hare Brewery had an awesome vibe. The staff was friendly, the space was inviting, and it had that perfect small-town craft brewery feel that makes you want to kick back, stay a while, and try even more of their lineup. It's safe to say that Lucky Hare lived up to the hype, and I'd definitely love to return on a warmer day to hang out on their patio, soak in the scenery, and enjoy another round. If you find yourself in the Finger Lakes region and appreciate well-crafted beer, this is a must-visit spot. A great way to start our final day--cheers!

Very nice brewery with a solid beer selection. I really enjoyed my strawberry wheat and hubby likes their English ale and IPA. Nice relaxing atmosphere, kid and pet friendly. They also have an ordering window for burgers and fries (Babe's burger). Burgers are not cheap ($15-$18, doesn't come with fries, need to be ordered separately) but are tasty and made fresh. They also have board games you can sit and play. We love visiting here when we are in the area.

Awesome brewery with fantastic views. Laid back vibe with a knowledgeable bartender. Great selection and all 4 of the beers on the flight were top notch and as described. Burgers that are a separate entity on site were tasty. Sweet potato fries are not to be missed. Two thumbs up.

Large fries with ketchup and babe sauce from Babe's Burgers. Definitely order them! They were amazing.

Favorite FLX brewery! The beer is always delicious and the view is great. We rotate between sitting inside and throwing a frisbee outside. They are always very friendly, especially to our dog. The owner, Ian, is an Eagles fan and talk to us on our first visit years ago. We've come back every year since on our anniversary trip.

    The view from Watkins!

The new location in Watkins Glen is amazing! The service, food and ambience were all A+. Curtis and Gwen were top notch. It was so good, we had to come back twice during our visit! Must go here when in Watkins Glen. We are long time customers of the Hector location which is also fabulous and has Babe's burger...my fave burger!! Watkins location offers a different menu that is really good. But I do love a Babe's burger! The cocktails in Watkins are phenomenal. You can't go wrong with either location!

Great range of beer flavors. Food was very good and very large portions! Worth the stop. Ate on the deck watching the sunset over the lake.

Great place, great people, beer, cornhole, food, fun all with a beautiful view of the lake. Love the logo and the fun part is the names of the craft beer with clues in the bottom of the can

Didn't eat while we were here, but it smelled great!

Almost didn't stop here because it was a bit out of the way that we were going, but I'm glad we did! It was nicely busy, and has great views of the lake from the back covered/enclosed patio. The food smelled good too!

Really cool spot to visit in the Finger Lakes region! We actually stopped here since they were one of the only places opened late, and we are so glad we did. They have a great selection of different types of beer, something for everyone. The service was great, the gentleman behind the bar was very informative and friendly. He was even able to give us some great suggestions of other places to visit on our trip. Social distancing was properly enforced, and everyone was required to wear a mask. They have growlers if you'd like to take some beer to go, and a few selections of to-go cans. Definitely a great place to stop by if you are in the area.

Late Sunday afternoon, drove over to this unassuming brewery which looks like a re-purposed home. Tight parking off on the road, but overall picturesque area. Despite the taproom being cramped, was a welcome sight to see the furry friends walking around. Had two beers: the Falcon Punch ($6) - a hazy balanced IPA and the Milk Milk ($5) - a more crisp dark beer. Had some pretzels to go along with the brews and was able to secure one of the few tables in the room. Definitely would be more spacious here in the warmer months, but overall a good low-key brewery.

Great beers and offered a sampling of local cider. We came at night, but they have a terrace that would offer great views of the lake!

Some fine brews here. Unpretentious and tasty. Well worth seeking out when in the Finger Lakes and on the east side of Seneca in Hector, NY

Great place to grab drinks and food while sitting by the lake…read more It was a nice warm spring afternoon and the tables on the patio were open for customers even though the patio wasn' t "officially" open. Service was very friendly and accommodating. We'd visited the original location multiple times in the past, but the Watkins Glen location right on the lake is great. A nice variety of craft beer and cocktails are on the menu and flights are available even outside. The food menu has a good variety of items and everything being served around us looks tasty. We snacked on the poutine, which was loaded with gravy and very good. Lucky Hare produces a solid line-up of beers that include a variety of styles from IPA & Bitters to Stoudts & red ales. Nice place to relax.

I'd have to say that my favorite thing about this place is the outdoor patio views. You get great sunsets here and are on the Seneca lake waterfront amongst the marina boats. These make it worth a visit. Also, these are the two reasons I'm giving this a three star rating and not a two. I do have to say that I didn't find the food or the service that exceptional. There is a lot of fried foods and what I would consider one step up from bar foods. The clam chowder and the ahi tuna salad were good choices. Their cheese burger was ok but not great. The staff seemed rushed, weren't really smiling or engaging or seemingly having fun. None were that memorable or made an impression including the bar tender. I requested to be seated in a specific area outdoors but even though there were tables still available they said it was "too busy". Before I even got my first drink they were seating other guests at those same tables for newer arriving guests. Yes, I noticed. It wasn't even close to closing or full capacity but most of the evening I felt like everyone working there were trying to rush us out the door so that they could go home. We had ordered an exceptional amount of food and drinks just so we could try a wide selection of their offerings. There were only two of us but we literally had three full drinks on the table and another full meal of uneaten food yet and the waitress was asking us if we were ready to leave and check out. In general, sure I might stop in for a quick drink and a view on a sunny day but I wouldn't entertain eating there again or spending my valuable time there. There are far better choices in the town of Watkins Glen.
