I've never written a review before but I had to on this business. My husband and I tried this place for the first time. First of all, I was overcharged. The menu said my oxtail dinner comes with 2 sides and a drink for 21.99. I was charged 23.99 and still charged an additional 1.50 for my drink. I don't mind paying the price for good food but wow this was a bad. They were sooo unprepared. They have an extensive menu but didn't have anything you really want available. We waited about 40 mins to get 2 plates. My hubby ordered the rib plate. Their ribs are boiled then put in barbecue sauce, the greens were salty, my cornbread muffins were burnt, mac n cheese was a flop. Over cooked noodles with cheese. My mother in law got the oxtail, mac and cheese and greens. My grandfather in law got the combo and i got the fried fish/shrimp and potato salad and we was there humming, singing and stamping our feets. Thats how good the food was. Highly recommend and we will definitely come back read more

Me and my husband gave this place a try. We ordered online because we heard it takes them a while to make it. So we ordered it online it was $43 dollars when my husband went to go get it the lady said it was $64 two meals for $64 are you serious not even with tax should it been that much my husband showed her the email we recieved after ordering she said that the prices were wrong on there website so she gave him the handout I got the crab boil which was 21.99 on the website and 19.99 in the handout how am I still paying $64 dollars she also told my husband not everything comes with two sides but yet in the handout she handed my husband and said they use since it has accurate prices it says you get to sides and cornbread we didnt get no cornbread and were charged for 3 extra sides I get that the crab boil comes with no sides so when ordering online you cant order it without choosing two sides how does that make any sense. My husband went over this several times with the lady trying to understand why there was a $21 difference she wouldn't take any money off and offered him an extra desert that she winded up not putting in the bag. Needless to say we wont be going back $64 for a crab boil and hot wings is ridiculous. This place will rip you off read more

I placed an order online on their website for 4 meal plates. Once I arrived to the restaurant an hour later, the owner said they haven't gotten my order "they had just got there to open up". I arrived 2 hours after they opened up. Kitchen and staff looked a mess. After retelling my order to the owner, she said my food should be ready in 20 minutes. I walked around the plaza and came back within 30 minutes and my food still wasn't ready. There were other people waiting for their food as well. I didn't receive my food until nearly 2 hours later. The staff member did offer me a free drink. I chose their kool aid. I'd say their kool aid was the best compared to the food. Ribs were cold and very chewy. Greens were salty and sour. Potatoes salad was runny and sour. Mac and cheese was dry and cold. Fried chicken was hard and cold. Waffle was cold. Yams were cold and super sweet. 1 star for the kool aid. read more

Went to Time 2 Grub in Lancaster today hoping for some good soul food. Well, STRIKE 1....The lady that took our order looked absolutely a hot mess (which I should've turnt around then) But I was hungry and craved soul food!! Her hair was all over the place and her clothes looked dirty....STRIKE 2: Paid $75 for two orders of food...WTH?!?! STRIKE 3: She stated, our order would be ready in 30 minutes. So we walked thru stores and came back and STILL food was not ready. We were actually there about an hour or maybe longer. She claim the peach cobbler was not ready, the candied yams were cooking, mind you, it was close to 5pm. Store closes at 7pm...make it make sense! No cornbread ready to go with the greens...like come on lady!! Yet, you charged me $75!!! Bad business. Her cook attempted to make hot water cornbread real quick, which was a fail. Then she goes to say the muffins are ready 30 more minutes passed (when in fact, I said you sure?) I'm looking at them coming out of the oven that she says kept breaking down. STRIKE 4: She was blowing her nose in the kitchen and I heard it clearly (just nasty)!!! Asked for my money back and she said no refunds!! By this time, I'm pissed... I no longer had an appetite! She claim she was trying to make it right, but it was all down hill from there. She went to the next establishment to get ice that I requested for my kool-aid. SMDH!!! Fast forward, we get home to eat, the food was horrific... greens tasted like they were cooked in a rusted pot, Mac n cheese tasted and looked like box, rice was mushy( no gravy), chittlins were like rubber and was a disgrace to our ancestors. Oh and that cornbread was NOT done like I thought! $75 down the drain literally!!. Some how the peach cobbler tasted ok and the kool-aid was good after I got some ice. I would NOT recommend this establishment to anyone. We try and support our local businesses, but you have to come correct ESPECIALLY when your prices don't match the services. The food is good but there is ALWAYS a problem with my order and they are ALWAYS out of something. Example today I order a Meatloaf and a peach cobbler they were both out so I switched it with a two item combo with black eye peas and regular macaroni , and cheese I also requested white meat chicken. What I got was dark meat and macaroni and cheese with shrimp. For most the extra shrimp wouldn't be a problem but I don't eat seafood. I don't even like it on my plate. So I called the establishment and all the lady could say is I'll let the manager know. I'm sorry I just ordered almost $40 worth of food and all you can say is I'll let the manager know! I can't eat two of the four things on my plate. I don't think I'll be ordering from here again. Bad service, makes even the best of foods taste nasty, and they get a F. The food here is decent. It's about as close to soul food as you will get in the desert. The sad part is how slow the service is. If you are hungry then do not go here. It will only make you furious how long you will have to wait. That being said call ahead! Lee Esther's is another great place in Palmdale and the wait and service is a bit faster. read more

This is the first time that I've ever tried this restaurant. I ordered through DoorDash and have it delivered. I ordered the rib dinner with collard greens and macaroni and cheese and a side of corn bread. The cornbread was good moist more like cake. The macaroni and cheese was very good and flavorful. The ribs were pork and not a good cut of pork rib but the cheapest kind you can buy and were very bony and tough. However the biggest problem I had was with the collard greens. They were full of small bones. I nearly broke off a back tooth and ended up cutting my gum quite severely on a piece of bone. If you're going to cook with bones you need to be smart enough to take them out before you serve it to customers. I will not be eating here again. And if you do be cautious. read more

I went to this place for lunch today today. First of all what my group of three noticed was the time that it took to cook all of our orders which was about 20-25 minutes. The most important part of this transaction was when the lady at the cashier said " I must have lost my mind" after SHE had realized that we ordered from her $5.99 combos placed on the board to the left of the cash register. I say this because we all ordered from that menu and shortly after the family after us ordered from that menu and her cook came out and erased it from the board. The name of this place should be Time for Hypertension because that is what the hell you are going to get. I have never eaten at Wingstop but I doubt that my experience will be anything like this. Okay here we go I phoned ahead ordered a smothered pork rib plate with a side of greens and yams, the lady said your order will be ready in 3 minutes, I was like great, well I arrived about 7 minutes later and the meal was not ready, we actually waited a good 30 minutes and to my very big disappointment the food was disgusting no flavor, cold, the so called pork ribs were hard like they were old and cooked over, I Mean I have never had hard Pork ribs they were un-chewable. The rice was gummy and the gravy was watery and very questionable with no seasoning at all and the yams were straight out of the can no flavor. I'm so disappointed in this meal it's really too bad because I love soul food and this is trash!!!! I dare them come to Lancaster and try and pass this off. GOOD LUCK if you spend your money here. I wanted to like this place so badly but I just had to many bad experiences and cons about the place. First let me start off by saying I love the story and that it is black own. Now for the bad news, first the prices are RIDICULOUS for the amount of little ass food that they give it's a complete rip off. Also they have too many food options to were it's overwhelming and no one has business skills. The vegan jambalaya was the worst, very bland (had to add additional seasonings from home), too many green and red peppers (which over-powered the flavor), no onions, sauce taste like something from a can, not enough rice. I would suggest that they take vegan items off the menu...they're not ready for that yet! The potato green beans were also bland. The cornbread was hard and dry. The rib tips could've been better (tough & rubbery). The kool-aid was waaay tooo sweet!!!
