My shopping experience at the Timbuk2 outlet has always been inconsistent. Sometimes the sales people there are attentive, other times they almost act like they're doing me a favor just being there. But I could always overlook that because I love the backpacks and bags. However, I may have just shopped at this store for the last time last year. I'm finally getting around to writing this review, but I went there 10/28/24 and bought a Muttmover Luxe bag that was on final sale. Having also owned another Muttmover bag that has held up, I had confidence this one would as well... I was wrong. In about a month, with very little use, the mesh screen had ripped. No worries I thought. They have a limited lifetime warranty! So I went back to the store 1/1/25 and a less than friendly associate took my info for shipping to their repair team. Oh well, at least they helped me with a free repair, right? Wrong again. The care team claimed it was wear and tear or excessive abuse caused by my dog... This is a dog backpack! If it can't stand up to a roughly 7lb Yorkie, then what good is it?! The only option was to pay a repair fee almost equal to what I had paid for the backpack. I refused to do so because Timbuk2 clearly refused to stand by their product. It's unfortunate that this has soured me on Timbuk2. The previous version of this Muttmover was fantastic, and is clearly superior in quality. But they've lost me as a customer since they couldn't repair my bag under warranty. My dog has since crossed the rainbow bridge... It's too bad he couldn't enjoy the bag more while he was still around. read more

I've become a very huge fan of Timbuk2 products. I have obsession with carry gear and Timbuk2 does not disappoint. All their bags are very well designed with quality material. Two years ago, I bought my 45L Impulse travel duffel pack here and it's been the absolute best. When I travel, I usually prefer to fly with just my carry on and personal bag. I've been able to fit 5 nights worth of stuff into this bag with room for more. I can see this being my go to bag for many, many years. It's very durable, as is all their bags. Most recently, I purchased their Classic Messenger (small) in the Army Green. It's been my favorite bag. It has great internal organization, easy comfortable strap system, and has very good capacity for all my EDC needs. There are many options for color ways in every size and you're also able to customize the Classic Messenger with a variety of colors and materials. One thing I find every time that I'm in this location is that there are always sales or marked down prices. I live about 40 minutes away, but it is so worth making the drive to the outlets to check out the lower prices AND also get to enjoy the plethora of amazing Asian restaurants in this area! read more

I had a weird experience at this store, it was a slow day and I was the only one in the store, trying to decide on a backpack. The sales associate there (mid-aged fellow, didn't catch his name), seemed friendly, but after a few minutes he was continually slapping his hands on the counter like playing drums pretty loudly, over and over. He must've been bored. At first it was no big deal, but after a while it was irritating as heck. At first when he stopped, I thought that's nice, but then he'd start doing it again and again ! I guess he didn't care about acting professional around a customer, which is fine maybe in a backpack store, but still, not everyone will want to groove along with him. It was almost like he was trying to drive me out of there. I decided to just leave and come back another time. But I ended up at a different luggage store and bought my bag there! They do have a good selection of bags, not sure about this associate though. read more

I got to say, I really love Timbuk2, they're products are very sturdy. Most of my backpacks and messenger bags go through a lot of punishment after all I put them through for work, travel and other things, but Timbuk2 bags hold up. They have a good selection here and often sales, every time I'm at the outlets I will check them out. I love Timbuk2 but not paying Timbuk2 full price, so I usually wait when there's a really good sale. read more

A useful and special gift that you can't buy at any old Walmart or department store. A messenger bag for somebody to carry a laptop in or perhaps a backpack for a young student. Quality seems great. Canvas has a nice feel to it and the zippers seem sturdy. Inside I didn't notice any hanging threads - tells me that the manufacturing was above average. I did take a look on the tag - at this price point I was hoping it was made in the USA - but no cigar. Customer service was outstanding. The guy working there was solid. I'm a big fan of Timbuk2 products as they are top quality. This review is for the service. I purchased a gift for my son which it turns out he didn't want and couldn't find anything else in the store that he was interested in. When I went to return it, I was told that since it was discounted, the sale was final and could not be returned or exchanged. I was not told this at the time of purchase and there were no signs in the store indicating sale items being final. I spoke with the manager who suggested I call customer service. Customer service said they can only help with online purchases and I should talk to the manager. I'm very disappointed in their buyer beware approach to customer service. They've got great products, just make sure you don't need to return it. read more

While we were browsing the stores at San Francisco Premium Outlet Mall, we ran across Timbuk2. Walked in and noticed all kinds of tote bags and backpacks. The young lady at the counter came over to greet us and answer our questions. I would say that out of all the stores we visited that day, she was the best! Exemplary customer service! Excellent customer service and it should be the new Timbuk2's standard. The story started Aug 2016, when my fav Bourbon work tote was stolen out of my car at work. I tried reaching out to Timbuk2 for help, but unfortunately had no response. A few days ago I visited the Timbuk2 outlet store and we were assisted by Nathan. I was truly impressed by his friendliness and passion for Timbuk2 products. You can tell that this guy loves what he does and was very knowledgeable about everything I asked him. He even asked me about my experience with the brand. During checkout, he went above and beyond to take care of us (he even sold my wife her first Timbuk2 bag). He was very sympathetic about my stolen bag and did everything within his power to restore my excitement for the Timbuk2 brand. We have not had this kind of buying experience for a LONG time. We walked out not with one bag but 4 bags + my new Bourbon. The end of the story is that every time I see the bag, it is not the bag or the brand that makes me smile. I am now on my seventh Timbuk2 bag, and the best-priced bag came from their very first outlet store! I'm happy the company is growing and gaining more exposure. Being cheaper than Amazon, Timbuk2's outlet store has a fantastic variety of bags for everyone. I started to travel more than often, and needed a different Timbuk2 bag that can pack more things at a reasonable and TSA-friendly size. My friend and I must have spent at least an hour in this store just looking at their amazing backpacks and messenger bags. Of course they look nice, but there are so many unexpected nifty, creative, and innovative features that each individual bag comes with! I can't express my gratitude about how amazing the customer service was. (Sorry in advance if I spell his name wrong!) Jesse, the worker there, seriously made our shopping experience. We walked in just to admire the bags, but every time we grabbed a bag out of curiosity just to look at it, he actually explained and showed us all the features that the bag came with. I can go on and on about how he went above and beyond, but all you really need to know is that if he told us that he was the founder and creator of Timbuk2, we would have believed him. I have really poor memory, but he explained it in such a straightforward way that you can't help but admire every bag they have. For example, he showed us how a bag was specifically designed to make traveling easier by being able to zip the entire thing open and lay it flat on the conveyor belt at the airport and how another messenger bag is designed to wick sweat away and keep you cool while you ride your bike. He also explains every item in a way that isn't pushy at all. He's not pushing you to buy it, he's simply just showing you all the features. I really appreciated his honesty and how there was no pressure to buy anything. In the end, my friend purchased a messenger bag that was perfect for his needs. He needed a bag that had shoulder support and could carry his big notebooks, laptop, and charger, but the bag could carry much more than that. It even had zipper compartments that he uses as a pencil bag and a mesh water bottle container within the bag. If Jesse hadn't been there, we would have probably just walked in to look at a few bags and left, but because he was there, we developed a strong admiration for the brand. Excellent selection in backpacks. One of the worst customer service experiences I've ever encountered. When there's 3 associates at the cash wrap and only 1 customer in the store you would think you'd get at the minimum a greeting or a hello. I was also rung up the incorrect price. The 3rd associate who I guess was there to be the DJ, since she was more concerned about her top 40 playlist instead of actually working said "I'm a winner since I had to come back to make a price adjustment" Not only was that embarrassing on my end, I truly feel this place can be run by robots, maybe like an "amazon" kiosk. I know.... there's plenty of problems in the world... but this experience was total crap. read more
