Food was amazing and service was top notch! We went with a large party and accommodations were great in a private area, food came out fairly fast and was all correct. Dessert drinks were a hit and so was the chocolate cake!

I was very unhappy with our last visit here. We had a large family gathering here and were seated in a private room, which was convenient. However, things went downhill from there. Sparing many of the details, my two biggest complaints were 1) We waited 60 minutes from ordering our food to when it hit our table. I know we had a large party, but the restaurant was mostly empty, and, having worked in a restaurant, cannot fathom why it took that long. The kids in the party got restless (as did I) and we were told excuse after excuse about how things were "almost ready." How did my daughter's hot dog take an hour?? Secondly, and I attached a picture, the food was barely enough for a child. I ordered shrimp and grits and it was small and not filling in the least. In fact, I counted and I ate my meal in 9 bites. An hour waiting for food and I ate it in under 2. I got fast food afterwards because I was still hungry. Chetola is a beautiful resort and Timberlake's is a beautiful setting, but I am not eating again.

This review reflects dinner over two nights during recent stay on the property. First night ordered the charcuterie which was lovey, the lamb bolognese and the filet. The filet was flavorful, very tender but a tad over the temp ordered. The lamb bolognese tasted good but wasn't the typical texture of a bolognese sauce and instead was more of a chunky sauce with lamb chunks, mushrooms, etc. so unusual but not bad. But a couple of things were off putting the first night. They were training new staff and the manager's voice giving the group instructions was distracting (took place in the servers area/kitchen but we could hear from our table). Second was when we asked if we could take two wine glasses to our room to go with the bottle of wine we had not finished, room was above restaurant, we were told no and were offered plastic cups, and that would had been fine but the explanation was an off putting tale that letting one couple would soon lead to 40 glasses missing. He didn't mean it but the interpretation was we would steal the glasses. When I stay at a resort at this price point and am paying for a special dinner this isn't what I expected. Second night was a totally different experience. Instead of dining room we ate in the bar area. Bartender was absolutely delightful. Had the burger which was excellent and the hot ham and havarti sandwich was spectacular. Loved the fries. So we would go again to eat bar food but skip the dining room until they get more settled in with new management and chef. I completely understand start of season new staff training just wish a couple of things had been handled differently the first night. The female server that first night did a great job.

I'm struggling with this review because I've been before (2018) and it was delicious. But we recently went for lunch for my sister in laws graduation and it was just .. meh. It wasn't bad, per se but it also was lacking and just wasn't really good. We got a variety of apps and then each got a meal. I don't think anyone was raving about the meal. I'm hoping they can figure things out and get back on track because in the past this was an incredible and delicious restaurant.

What a beautiful experience it's been here at Chetola Resort in Blowing Rock, particularly at Timberlake's Restaurant. The staff is so friendly and accommodating, I've been greeted by a smiling face everywhere I've gone. From the Maintenance and Grounds team to the front desk, to the Restaurant and Bar. I've had a few meals on the resort and a few off the resort, they've all been really good. It does get busy in the restaurant at times. Breakfast starts at 7:30am, but most folks don't come down til after 8:30 or 9, so it was nice and peaceful. I'll definitely be back.

Always an amazing dining experience at Timberlake's Restaurant! The views from the restaurant are just spectacular. I would choose to sit outside every single time just to have the view of the lake. The service has been consistently great. The servers are very friendly and attentive. One time, our entrees took a little longer to come out because the order had been overlooked. They were very apologetic and offered us a dessert on the house. All the entrees we have had were delicious! There's plenty of vegetarian options including the impossible meatloaf, impossible burger and numerous salads. They have a large variety of wines and craft cocktails. We'll certainly be back as regulars here.

Social on Main is an easy walking distance if you are staying downtown. You may need to hunt for a downtown parking spot if driving, however. There are plenty of parking spots on the nearby side streets, and a large public lot (slightly hidden) off Maple Street. Don't let the lack of onsite parking deter you from a visit! We've tried the Charlie Sellers, Beth Ann Clark (new and amazing!), The Hammy, Butch Triplett, and Carl Freeman. One thing for sure is that SoM knows how to do cheesy scrambled eggs. I constantly lament that other breakfast places don't know how to properly cook scrambled eggs, and allow sufficient time for the cheese to melt. SoM's eggs are always perfect. They also do a proper crispy bacon. Their biscuits are "cat head" style--i.e., as big as a cat's head--and fluffy, and really good with butter. The Beth Ann Clark is their newest addition, with cheesy scrambled eggs, bacon or country ham, french toast, and a cup of fruit. I actually got this twice on our last trip to Blowing Rock--it was that good! But fried egg fans should also be glad that SoM also does perfect eggs over-medium. And their corned beef is perfectly crispy. I don't normally like corned beef, but it goes perfectly with their cheesy scrambled egg when my husband orders the Butch Triplett. Their hash browns are crispy on the outside, but soft on the inside. We prefer them a bit crispier throughout, but they were still fine. Their coffee is noteworthy--strong and delicious. Many breakfast places serve weak coffee, but Social's version is perfect. Their servers are all efficient and friendly. One of our servers shared the story of how their plates were all named after Blowing Rock individuals, and that was really cool. One more thing - SoM accepts Apple Pay! This is definitely our go-to for breakfast in Blowing Rock.

Social on Main was the perfect way to start our weekend in the area…read more We drove into the area for breakfast and exploring and upon arrival the spot was packed. After looking at the menu and dining there I can see why. The portions are huge, and the pricing is so great. They also have a full bar including breakfast martinis - which I did not opt for but went with a bloody mary instead. It was huge and delicious. They have a lot of breakfast options, but when I saw corn beef hash I knew I had to try that. They have a bunch of different breakfast options and the one I ordered came with eggs, ham, hash browns and I can't remember what else but it was huge. If breakfast isn't your thing and you want lunch - you can choose from their lunch specials which are a main and three sides for under $14 - wowza that is literally crazy! It is a cozy, charming spot with friendly service and I would definitely recommend if you are in Blowing Rock.

We weren't expecting such a high level experience when we first booked a stay at this newly finished hotel. Classy cocktails, beers, plenty of wine variety, you name it. Went with the Old Smokey as a starter. An old fashioned kicked up a notch. The house smoked maple syrup and charred orange peal knocked his cocktail out of the park. I could smell that smoky flavor from the other end of the bar as it was being made. Bartender was super friendly and had some great mixology skills. We opted for apps all evening, but can't wait to come back and try some more of the menu. The homemade bread is a must. These puppies come out hot and steaming, with this amazing bacon butter to lather them in...outstanding! Our server also recommended the mushroom pate. Mushroom pate you say?! Yes, yes I do. One of the best pate's we've had in a long time. Super flavorful, creamy and smooth. And the homemade chips sticking out of it were the bomb! Then the goat cheese fritters...I had to battle my wife for these flavor bombs. This place is outstanding and not many people know about it...yet. The downtown area sits about a mile from the iconic Blue Ridge Parkway (connects the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in North Carolina to the Shenandoah National Park in Virginia). Camp Coffee Roasters has a cozy vibe and an obvious appreciation for the outdoors. It might have something to do with their neighbors; Footloggers, an outdoor store. Be sure to climb the stairs near the front door of the coffee shop. This time, however, my mom and I were extremely disappointed. We were served by a young man who seemed to be the owner's son, while the owner and another young man stood behind the counter. He forgot to ask what sizes we wanted, and when I got my Campfire Cold Brew, it came without cream. The menu clearly said: Cold brew, marshmallow, Hershey chocolate, and cream. I thought maybe it wasn't my drink, but the young man confirmed it was. When I asked if it was supposed to have cream, he said no, but that he could add some. I double-checked the menu: "It says it comes with cream." That's when an older woman suddenly appeared, glaring. "There's cream right there," she snapped. I'm guessing she was his mom, given her signature mama bear energy. Sorry, lady! I was just trying to make sure I got what I paid for, especially since two small coffees cost $16.
