Coffee Shop No. 492 Camp Coffee Roasters…read moreBlowing Rock NC April 9 2025 Camp Coffee Roasters is a little coffee shop in Blowing Rock, North Carolina, a charming little mountain village. The downtown area sits about a mile from the iconic Blue Ridge Parkway (connects the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in North Carolina to the Shenandoah National Park in Virginia). Camp Coffee Roasters has a cozy vibe and an obvious appreciation for the outdoors. It might have something to do with their neighbors; Footloggers, an outdoor store. Be sure to climb the stairs near the front door of the coffee shop. They lead to a loft, overlooking Footloggers, where you can relax in a wing back chair or get some work done at a table near a window. The barista was friendly and made a respectable cortado. Enjoying life one cortado at a time!

This time, however, my mom and I were extremely disappointed. We were served by a young man who seemed to be the owner's son, while the owner and another young man stood behind the counter. He forgot to ask what sizes we wanted, and when I got my Campfire Cold Brew, it came without cream. The menu clearly said: Cold brew, marshmallow, Hershey chocolate, and cream. I thought maybe it wasn't my drink, but the young man confirmed it was. When I asked if it was supposed to have cream, he said no, but that he could add some. I double-checked the menu: "It says it comes with cream." That's when an older woman suddenly appeared, glaring. "There's cream right there," she snapped. I'm guessing she was his mom, given her signature mama bear energy. Sorry, lady! I was just trying to make sure I got what I paid for, especially since two small coffees cost $16. Anyway, if you're looking for an adventure, head to Camp Coffee. You might not see a wild bear in the mountains, but you just might meet one behind the counter

When we walked in, we could immediately smell the buttery croissants being baked. Since we just had breakfast, we just wanted a Cortado. The staff member who took our order was very friendly, and there wasn't a wait for our coffee. The best thing was that the Cortado was delicious! It was just $3.50 plus tax--a good value. We'll definitely be back. And next time, we'll try a chocolate or almond croissant!

It's tucked into a great courtyard off of Main St. with plenty of outdoor seating, including umbrellas and shade on warmer days. We went with a sweet almond croissant and 2 different types of savory quiches, a bacon cheese and a broccoli cheese. Everything had fantastic flavors. The only reason this doesn't get 5 stars is because the warmed up items were still a tad bit cold inside. This is the second time we've been here, and had a similar experience the first round. With proper heating time, these would have been top notch and 5 star all around. We'll be back for more bakery goodness for sure. We'll politely ask that the items get heated through next time just in case.

It hit the spot, my husband had the special"jammin ham" with ham and jam :) and I, the cheesy goodness. They were delightful, simple, fresh. I would certainly recommend. There are a lot of tables to eat at (it's all outside) and they also sell drinks, tomato soup. So glad we stumbled upon this place. Oh and it's pet friendly!

We were disappointed and left to go eat somewhere else. Once we got back home to Charlotte, we realized they were seasonal and missed them by a week or two from their opening for the season. We knew we wanted to come back as their menu sounded so good, plus, I'm a huge grilled cheese fan! Well, we have come back after some hiking, not once, but twice! We were there in September enjoying our meal when we overheard someone asking when they would close for the season. They said at the end of October. So here we are, back again in October before they close one last time! Here is what we got most recently: *Spice is Nice - I'm a huge pimento cheese fan, but this has been my least favorite so far. It's good, but it doesn't wow me like the others do. *Pizza Pizzas - This is SO good! It is probably the cheesiest of the three that I love. I love how they slice this one into four breadstick like pieces to dip in a flavorful tomato sauce. That cheesy crusted bread with the gooey cheesy interior, is a cheese fan's dream! *Brie Baby - Everything about this one, from the brie, provolone, turkey, apples, and fig preserves works so well. This is probably the least gooey cheesiest of the three that I love, but this is one heck of a flavorful sandwich! *Sweet & Savory - It should be no surprise as a peach lover, that this is my favorite. I love the sweet and the spice all mixed in with gooey cheese and a little bit of bacon. Perfection! Please note, this is a small shop, and it gets busy in a mountain tourist town. They are making them fresh, and it takes some time. Be patient, it is well worth the wait! If I can give only one critique - place a sign outside the door with hours of when open for the season and when closed for the season. Service is bad in the area, and we had no clue originally when we were walking around. Otherwise, HIGHLY recommend. We will be back in 2026! :)
