Oh yeah sandwich fands do have a treat today. I've been eating at this restaurant in the 'glorius' Boone Mall since I was a kid. While the mall has lost almost every other old school tenant besides Belks, Panera and a couple of Appalachian State based stores, Tuckers has managed to keep their family business in the same spot. They have a large selection of sandwiches, wraps and hot dogs as well as breakfast options on Saturdays. They do stop serving lunch at 4pm, I believe, so plan accordingly. It is a small cafe style space with several booths on each side a a few two-top tables in between. You can also have your meal carried out in to mall entrance and there are several tables and benches just outside of the restaurant as well. read more

Oh my this place is SO good! I was a bit hesitant being in a mall but Tuckers Cafe was great! I had the Traditional Gyro and my husband had the cheese quesadilla. Both came with a decent portion of fries which were seasoned very well (I like a heavy seasoned fry) I got Ranch to dip and live the side order of pickles (my favorite!) all the veggies on my gyro were really fresh. Went for the first time today and we will be back. It was soo good we enjoyed it. I had a mountain mufalatta that was very filing and had it all. We were going to Homegoods and stumbled upon Tucker's. So glad we did because we really enjoyed it. Ryan was our server and what a nice young man. He answered all our questions and even though the place was packed, he gave us full attention refilling our drinks, etc. We weren't super hungry so we ordered a fish and chips meal and told Ryan we were going to split it. he even asked if we wanted them to divide it for us. no one ever asks that! Our food came out fast and let me tell you, it was delicious. The fish was so good and fried perfectly in a great batter. The chips were like a French fry/potato chip combined and about the best thing since sliced bread. We devoured it all quickly! The price was very reasonable and we will be back to try some other things. My only criticism, though not a reason to go back, is they have paper plates, plastic utensils, and styrofoam cups with no lids. it would be better to have regular plates and I would have liked my coffee in a mug. Tucker's in the mall is a warm and inviting place with Beings of such kindness it feels like Heaven. Not only the food was delicious, the service was priceless. The cooks wore mask which I think is an excellent idea, but this private business understands the value of customer service. No wonder they have customers that are repeats. Truly a hidden gem in Boone. This historic family owned and run business deserves your visit. I jabe been here over four times with my wife, and we have never had a bad meal or service. Our visit yesterday was due to our burger cravings and Tuckers didn't disappoint. I had the Swiss and Mushroom burger with fries and my wife had the traditional cheeseburger with fries. Delicious all the way around and the fries are hot, crispy and seasoned to perfection . Our server is always friend and keeps your culs filled and they are doing a phenomenal job during COVID-19. We've been going to Tucker's for over 20 years. It never disappoints! Our favorite is the BLT pita. I have tried other things but always come back to it. I got the muffuletta yesterday but the bread wasn't exactly right. It was still good though. Service is always good. It's not a fancy place and it's small. But the wait is usually short. Water had a weird fish smell and taste to it. There was a bit of a mistake on a gyro, there seemed to be way to may vegetables and not enough meat- for the price I have to feel a little disappointed. The gyro was dry, there was not a lot of taste. They accommodate well as in getting what you ask for, you just might not like it. Two stars is fair enough considering the reputation. read more

After shopping we visited Tucker's at the strong recommendation of a shoe salesman in the mall. We had a cheese steak sandwich and a reuben, each with fries. The sandwiches and fries were hot and fresh. Really good. We had their corn nuggets, which are deep fried breaded nuggets filled with a creamed corn mixture. Yummy. The wait staff were helpful and friendly. The place was well lit, clean and comfortable. The entrance is inside the mall near the Eleven80 entrance. I recommend this place. read more

One of the better burgers in town. I like that they have old fashioned crinkle cut fries and haven't changed over to the hand cut fries like a lot of places. I've had a couple burgers, the Gyro, a few other things and all good. A little pricey but you expect that in a mall (even if it's just the Boone Mall). Downside...only open for lunch. Seems like they used be open for dinner as well. I'd go at least once a week more if they had dinner hours. read more

My aunt and I were in town running errands, and she mentioned she really wanted a gyro. I Google searched mediterranean places. Nothing showed up for Boone. So I searched gyros, and Tuckers cafe came up. We decided we will just give it a try. It was freaking amazing! The food, the service, everything awesome. The staff was friendly, our server Ryan was very attentive and nice , and the food came out fast. Along with the gyro and fries, we go a basket of rings... onion rings. Soooooo good. The gyro was one of the best I ever had, they did not skimp on the meat, and their cucumber sauce was delicious. I'm just in from outta town, but the next time I'm up visiting my aunt, we are coming back! read more
