Pho' Kai + California Roll

Super good, a few weird pieces of chicken but other than that it was great. Definitely try it for yourself!

Ordered several items through BooneDelivery. GOOD: spring rolls, green curry with steam chicken, papaya salad (would have liked a touch more lime and palm sugar), kow man kai (similar to katsu with no bbq sauce). Fair: Thai coffee (I think I just like Vietnamese style better). Pass: sushi. We got angry tuna and saibeng roll (seaweed salad didn't taste fresh). Both rolls were just too heavy on rice for me.

The food was beautifully , colorful and delicious. The food tasted very fresh! My partner and I both got the Drunken Noodle and were both very satisfied. She said this was the best Vietnamese food she's ever had. I appreciated that an employee came out and asked me how the food was and where we were from. I wished they had indoor seating. Side note: When coming in to make an order you'll need to wait around and then go back in to get your meal. The food was cooked in about 15 minutes.

Spicy basil stir fry, with chicken.

Located along King street at the end of the building, you know parking will be an issue. Also, parking stops before their store front, so you couldn't park right in front anyway. This is not their fault, just something to know. There is a parking garage across the street, so you'll have about a block walk at a minimum. We ordered for pickup and we're told 20-25 minutes. It was ready when I got there 25 minutes later. The salmon roll and tuna rolls were nice. My dining partner liked the tuna better as it had more flavor. The salmon was fine, but seemed subdued. The spicy basil stir fry was pretty good. I didn't get much spice, but the basil flavor was noticeable. The chicken was moist if a little bland, but the dish itself had a nice overall flavor. The price was reasonable, the service fine, and the food good. They have a large menu selection, so this is certainly worth a stop.

Old Tuna

This was the Tuna I was served from a pickup order, the picture does not do justice. Highly disappointed

Due to covid , they were only doing take out. This little guy almost 10 yrs old only was awesome taking orders, payments and handing out the ordered food. Service was quick and for the price it's average for Thai - good for student meals. Red curry is missing bit of the curry, drunken noodle was very good. Pad Thai is ok and red meat with rice - lets just say I would not order it again. Good servings though and it fills you up.

What a great example of all the things I love about the people of Boone: a couple who retired here and opened shop in '17 after having spent time in other acclaimed restaurants they built. Their food is both authentic and amazing. Tried their Tom Yum soup with Shrimp, my all time favorite Thai soup, and it was perfect. Actual 1/4 piece ginger root inside, multiple lemongrass stalks and galangal which are the key components of the soup. We started with seaweed salad, fresh rolls, and a Philly. All great and recommend- was just a tad surprised the fresh rolls did not have shrimp or a protein in them, so heads up! And actually the sushi and salad came after our entrees... so there's that. Of course we all sampled one another's dishes- The Pad see Ew with Shrimp, Beef Basil Stir Fry, and Pork coconut Curry soup were all equally tasty and made with a bevy of ingredients. Definitely recommend this wonderful spot and we'll be back to see y'all!

This was not "ground chicken" and a "fried egg". What?!

I was on my way to Blueridge Parkway and decided to make a pit stop in Boone for lunch. I should've continued to drive because it was the wrong decision. We stopped in around 12:00 p.m. on a Saturday. We were the only customers dining in at the time. The items in the menu sounded delicious. We went with an order of the spicy tuna sushi as an appetizer, pad thai, and chicken basil and here's how it went... Spicy Tuna Sushi: It was small but delicious. The price was on point. Shrimp Pad Thai: The dish arrived it was chunks of chicken and fried noodles. It did not look like Pad Thai. We decided to let the waitress know that the order was wrong. She took the dish back to the kitchen and the new one came out immediately. It was almost as if they took out the chunks of chicken and re-fried the noodles with the shrimp. Chicken Basil Stir Fry: The dish arrived and we were confused. It was chunks of chicken, 2 basil leaves, small pieces of red bell pepper. The worst part was the overcooked, boiled egg on the side. At this point, I thought it was a bad dream. The description clearly said "Ground chicken" and "fried egg". I lost my appetite. The portions were small and did not meet my expectations for an $8 dish. I guess you get what you pay for. Overall, everyone who worked here was very kind. I love Thai food and this was not Thai food. Next time, I will continue driving to my destination on an empty stomach. I wish this restaurant all the best but at the moment, no thanks.

A friend and I ate lunch at Monsoons today because of all the great reviews. Not really sure…read morewhether these reviewers have ever eaten in a real Thai place, but I was not impressed. You order the food and pay for it and then they bring it to your table. The man who took our order was extremely rude and nasty. He was so busy watching the television that he could barely take our order and when we asked him questions, he barked at us to look at the booklet with the pictures. I almost walked out right then, but since we were there, I held my displeasure in and I thought OK well hopefully the food will be better. I had Pad Thai and my friend had drunken noodles. My Pad Thai was basically noodles with peanut bits in it. Not any type of peanut sauce like it's supposed to have. It was tasteless and disgusting. But the portion was huge. So if people just want a plate full of noodles that have no taste then I guess this is the dish for you My friend who had never eaten Thai food before liked her drunken noodles with broccoli. So I guess if you have never eaten Thai food, you might really like the huge portions they give you. But for those people that have eaten at a Thai restaurant before will know that this is not real Thai food. No spices. No sauce. No taste. Will I ever be back? No, I will not.
