Wowza! You don't go to Blountville with expectations to eat excellent pho! But it happened! I called our client to get a recommendation- with one super picky eater in the crowd it was a tough sell. He cleaned his plate! We ordered the Crab Rangoon ~ 5 stars! The sauce had a hint of a spicy bite. My pho was some of the best I've had. It's all about that broth. Enough flavor to enhance everything else. Also order a hot green tea! Enough for four :) Excellent experience and food. Definitely check it out if you are in the area!! read more

this building deserves a better business, pretty 1950's diner rotting with little to no business at all, even the phone has no service plus owners are flat out rude, ate there once and they ran me out, food was alright I suppose. The outside is not much to look at, but the inside is very nicely done. Reminds me of 1950s style dinner. I ordered the Lemongrass Chicken as many Vietnamese restaurants don't offer this due to the delicate nature of cooking it. It was very good! I do wish the portion was slightly more. Literally never leave reviews but had to on this one. We have driven there several times during business hours and they are not open! One time there was no reason on the door, one sign said open and another said closed. Like what?! The one time we were able to eat there it was amazing food but extremely expensive and they decided to close after we left at only 5:30pm, followed us to the door as we left to lock it. I have to say, the food was very very good that's why we want to come but even on Friday evenings when they should be open they are not! read more

Staff wore masks, dining indoors was permitted (we were the only customers, so I felt safe), service was very polite and fast. I ordered the vegetable pho and drip Vietnamese coffee w/o sugar or condensed milk. The broth was pho-nomenal and rich with flavor. Not too salty or hot-spicy. I ordered for takeout, but once I saw that the restaurant was empty, I asked if indoor seating was allowed. It was, so we sat down and the waitress/hostess offered to bring silverware and a bowl to transfer my soup. The portion was great for the price, I felt full, and not crazy thirsty for water afterward. I was passing through the area, so I might not be back, but I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone filling up or stopping in Bristol. read more

But then you find yourself at What the Pho? and all of a sudden you're on a one way ticket to flavor town. All aboard. They've got it going on, folks. They haven't been in the area very long, but just as they were opening.... you know... the apocalypse happened. Did that stop them from serving me the single best steamed dumpling I've ever had today? Forget about it! They were out of this dimension, ladies and gentlemen! Delicate and light. OMG this place is amazing!! I was passing through and got lucky in finding this place. The decor is super cute, shiny and gleaming clean. The food is super fresh and perfectly seasoned with huge attention to detail. I got my favorite dish (B2) and my partner got W2. Both were super delicious. I've tried this dish in lots of restaurants in New York City and also in Vietnam and this was among my favorite preparations of it. Blountville is lucky to have this place! I've been to at least 30 Vietnamese restaurants this year while traveling for business, as my pho obsession has taken over my appetite. I was stunned to see this pop up when I was looking for a lunch place on a trip up I-81. The reviews intrigued me so I took a chance and I'm very glad I did. If you've made it this far let me make it clear this is the best pho I've had all year! The fresh spring rolls where is good as any I've had anywhere & the peanut satay sauce was excellent. Even the sweet tea stood out to me. I have to admit I was concerned when I pulled up and there was only one other vehicle outside. However, turned out I just beat the rush and the place started to fill up. The inside is unusual but charming; you would be forgiven for thinking that you were in a 50s diner combined with a barbecue restaurant, with all the red & chrome furnishings and natural colored wood on the walls. I was beginning to doubt my pick but then the food started to arrive! With all the pho I've eaten this year, I've honestly starting to get bored with it and ordered it only because it's otherwise reliable. When the very large bowl of steaming soup came out and I smelled the wonderful aroma, my hopes soared and we'e not let down again. The broth was better than any I've ever had and everything was just delicious and fresh. I will definitely be back up to include making a special trip out of my way whenever I'm close. read more

This place is a GREAT find in an area with mostly mediocre chain restaurants. My fiancé and I stopped by for take out on a road trip. I ordered the W2 pan fried noodles with veggies and seafood and it wAs fantastic. The veggies were crisp and fresh not over cooked and not slimy from being frozen, with tons of bright lemongrass flavors. The broth was rich and complex without being over salted or greasy. The fried noodles were delightfully crunchy and the dish is a fabulous combination of flavors. Highly recommended! read more

Really interesting diner motif, not what you would expect from an Asian restaurant. Appeared really clean. A young man waited on us and I had a special request (bun ga xao) of which he relayed to his Mom in the kitchen. It was delicious and exactly what I wanted.
