Social on Main is my husband's and my favorite place for breakfast while visiting Blowing Rock. They are even better than our now-closed old favorite, Sunny Rock Eggs & Things. On this last trip, we went twice. I got the Beth Ann Clark both times. I just love their cheesy scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, fruit, and french toast. My husband tried two different entrees this time--the Butch Triplett (corned beef and eggs) and their breakfast burrito. Their corned beef is likely from a can, but it's so good because they cook it so it's very crispy. I always steal some of his corned beef to add to my eggs! Their breakfast burrito is amazing. It's simply filled, with just scrambled eggs, cheese, small bits of ham, and hash browns. It's topped with an enchilada sauce that is similar to a ranchero sauce, and is served with sour cream and guacamole. It's a massive burrito, and SO GOOD! My husband said it's his new favorite. Social on Main is popular, and so we always go early (before 8am). After 8am, there is usually a wait--especially on Saturdays. Their servers are always friendly, and the food is delivered fast. Their coffee is nice and strong, too. I wish we had a Social on Main near our house, because we'd visit them weekly. Social on Main was the perfect way to start our weekend in the area. We drove into the area for breakfast and exploring and upon arrival the spot was packed. After looking at the menu and dining there I can see why. The portions are huge, and the pricing is so great. They also have a full bar including breakfast martinis - which I did not opt for but went with a bloody mary instead. It was huge and delicious. They have a lot of breakfast options, but when I saw corn beef hash I knew I had to try that. They have a bunch of different breakfast options and the one I ordered came with eggs, ham, hash browns and I can't remember what else but it was huge. If breakfast isn't your thing and you want lunch - you can choose from their lunch specials which are a main and three sides for under $14 - wowza that is literally crazy! It is a cozy, charming spot with friendly service and I would definitely recommend if you are in Blowing Rock. read more

We strolled in on a rainy morning and were greeted by some of the friendliest people in Blowing Rock. They have their parking lot on the side of the building but street parking is also available. The corner location with a stunning outside terrace is perfect for people-watching had the weather been cooperating. We were seated promptly, and they walked us through some popular items. We both ordered a cat's head biscuit sandwich (because it's as big as a cat's head), mine was bacon egg, and cheese and his was an egg, cheese, and fried chicken with a side of hashbrowns, and we can't forget the huge mug of nice and hot coffee on a rainy morning. This was a perfect cup of coffee, with plenty of refills. They were even nice enough to give me a to-go cup for my coffee. A good breakfast spot! They have an extensive breakfast menu and it all seemed so good! I got the loaded hash brown bowl- it was really unique and tasted good!! Not huge though. It was definitely popular- we had to wait for breakfast on a Friday morning. There's seating both inside and out and they do have a small parking lot that we were able to find a spot in. The waitress wasn't the nicest and they didn't seem super accommodating to our toddler and baby. It's not huge inside and is a no frills diner feel but the food was fast and good. read more

It was right across the street from our inn, and after grabbing takeout the first morning (hangovers don't always allow for sit-down service ), we loved it so much we went back the next day to dine on their patio. Between the two visits, my husband and I tried the French toast with a side of bacon, the Harold Triplett (each of us ordered it on different mornings), and the Jack Hall with over-easy eggs instead of scrambled. Every dish was delicious, but the real standout for me was the Cat Head biscuits -- big, fluffy, and perfect with their hearty breakfast gravy. Everything, including the vibe, was so good that I forgot to take photos. The food is fresh and flavorful, the staff was friendly, and the cozy small mountain town vibe made for such a peaceful, perfect brunch experience. Food: we ordered Fried Chicken Sandwich, Chicken and waffles and Country Fried Steak. Everything was excellent! Chicken and waffles had a HOT HONEY drizzle which wasn't specified on the menu. My 11 year old son couldn't eat it, and the restaurant didn't even offer to replace it. Service: not great. Server wasn't friendly and seemed annoyed with us. Rest of the staff was nice. We the first week of October. So it wasn't peak leaf season, but it was beautiful nonetheless. The restaurant itself was aesthetically, pleasing and comfortable. We sat outside because the weather was perfect. I ordered the BLT and added an egg to it. It was so good. My husband ordered the breakfast burrito, which was also amazing. We really enjoyed our brunch at Social on Main in Blowing Rock! It's definitely better than the Mexican/American place that was there before. The menu has lots of good breakfast and lunch options, and we all enjoyed our meals (I had the caprese sandwich with blackened salmon + pickled beets - others got the burger & fries, the club sandwich and the Reuben). The only reasons I have for giving it four stars instead of five are that the service was really slow (we were seated immediately but weren't asked for drink orders for at least 15, maybe 20 minutes), and the space is just a bit claustrophobic (I know they can't do much about that, and I'm sure sitting out on the patio on a warm day would be a better experience). Would definitely eat there again! read more

When I for breakfast with enjoying The Weeknd in the mountains. We passed by and with the line figured it was a good place to eat. We were told a 20 min wait but it was more like 10, no complaints there. Also they have an outdoor patio that is dog friendly. The food was great, hot and nice size servings. They do serve alcohol drinks for breakfast but isn't on the menu. The table next to us asked and was the only reason we found out about it. The service was outstanding and the vide is chill. We took a day trip for my birthday to Blowing Rock and decided to stop at Social on Main for lunch. We had a lot of great options on the menu, and tried a few different meals. We tried the Reuben with pasta salad, two of us got The Shroomin French Dip with potato wedges and Mac & Cheese, and the Gyro with Fruit Cup, and two sweet teas. Everything was fantastic! It was the tastiest Reuben sandwich I have ever had. It was grilled perfectly, and it was built with the right amount of filling. I wish I had this sandwich right now just writing this review several days later! Just delish. The only thing I will say about this plate would be the very small side of pasta salad. One of us ordered potato wedges, and it covers half the plate, but the pasta salad was in a very small bowl. The sides were not even in size, just an observation there, but so delicious. Everyones meals were excellent and the sweet tea was bottomless. We were thrilled, full, and ready to explore downtown Blowing Rock. If you are in town, make your way to Social on Main. Service was great, too. It is very cozy here and you may have to wait if it is busy, so keep that in mind. Also, they are closed on Wednesdays, so just a note on that.
