Smoked duck ramen had my attention and wow, it did not disappoint. This bistro is great for casual lunch or a nice date night dinner. We enjoyed the wood fired brussels as well! The staff was friendly and attentive.

Absolutely fantastic experience here! Definitely be sure to make a reservation because it books up quick! It's definitely a slightly nicer than casual place to dine and the prices reflect that, but boy is it worth it. The prime brisket was absolutely delicious! Our waitress was very polite and checked in frequently. Literally no complaints about our experience here. Will definitely return if I am back in town!

Waitress was great. Got the Roca pizza. It was great when it was hot, but as soon as it cooled down it wasn't the best pizza I had ever tried. Unique flavors but lacking some substance. The other entrees my group ordered were great though! I'd give it another try for sure.

Bistro Roca is our Sunday Brunch go to spot when in Blowing Rock. Upscale ambience with eclectic choices on the menu make us go outside our comfort zone of choosing typical bacon and eggs breakfast. Service is fine given that it is a very busy and very popular destination. On this latest visit, the lettuce wrapped pork bbq style appetizer was clearly the table favorite. The brisket Benedict was the least favorite meal. While the meat was tender and cooked well, the portion served was very fatty and offset the rest of the flavor. The crab Benedict was the much better choice. Reservations are recommended busy home game and peak season weekends.

Lovely place to grab a bite when walking through the town. My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and were lucky enough to get patio dining. The staff was very friendly and the service was as impressive as the food. Be sure to order dessert because ours were amazing. We will definitely be back. Reservations recommended.

This restaurant again served wonderful and delicious food well prepared and well served by our waitress Isabella (Bella to her friends). Added on a few years ago is an extension for more seating, obviously needed at the time of our reservation. For us, I selected a wine ($44 a bottle), Lola, from the California vineyard of the same name. I had never heard of The Vineyard but was quite satisfied with this Chardonnay which was soft on the pilot with a pineapple and almond taste would be my best guess. For my meal, I had the Black and Blue ribeye, which came on a shelf of mashed potatoes and crispy fried onions on top. The steak was cooked to perfection, as requested, a medium that is pink and warm in the middle. As the photo shows it was a large cut, delicious to the last bite, which drink some dying as I was hungry but it was a bit of a struggle to finish it all. You can tell that it was well charred on the extreme edges, with the char enhancing the tender meat. Oh yes, a place to dine, somewhat off the beaten path in Blowing Rock. Reservations are required. Eating in the bar is also enjoyable, but we ate in the large dining room at a table for two. Despite the 80+ temperature outside, our seating area was quite cool, but not chilly.

The food is delicious, the atmosphere is cozy, and the service is excellent. My wife and I enjoy making Bistro Roca a regular stop on our visits to the mountains.

Went here for our anniversary and loved it. Service was great, and food was all worth the price. Heads up that the parking lot is brutal. We had to park at a deck a block away because there was no parking at the restaurant, both when we arrived and when we departed.

Always a favorite and good choice in Blowing Rock. The fig and prosciutto appetizer is consistently good. Really enjoyed the Roca appetizer sampler of bread and spreads. Soup is consistently great as is the bread. If you find yourself in Blowing Rock, I think you will enjoy the restaurant.

This was our first time dining at Bistro Roca, and we really enjoyed it! The atmosphere is beautiful and classy. Our server was very kind and made sure we were well taken care of. We started with the mussels in the white wine & sun dried tomato broth and they were delicious! I had the featured dish of the night, which was a tempura fried flounder over jasmine rice in a coconut/carrot/curry sauce with bok choy. The bok choy was tender and perfectly seasoned and the carrot curry sauce was so good, I could have made a meal off of it alone! Would definitely come back here again.

    Wagu Flat Iron

Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Food: 3/5 Pricing: 2/5 My wife and I went to Bistro Roca for dinner on 6/28/25 we decided to go with steak with our choices as we usually do on our normal outing. Wife choice Wagu flat iron: Overall rating- 2/5 Price:$75 but that changes daily #1 reason for the rating is it was just really disappointing for the price and experience we were sold on when we asked about the dish. The price of the dish is not displayed on the menu so you have to ask before you order and we were told the Wagu would melt and would not even require a knife to cut it. 1) The price was $75 before tax which we thought was steep but hey you pay for what you get so we thought well it's Wagu let's go for the experience. 2) The Wagu itself did not feel like a premium cut, the texture was tough (and we did it the way the waiter recommended which was medium rare) so you had to really chew the steak and the steak had no flavoring. 3) the truffle sauce that came with it was way to strong and honestly could not enjoy it and my wife loves truffles. 4) potatoes were meh 5) asparagus was good but I mean it would be pretty hard to mess that up haha My choice: The black and blue Overall rating 5/5 I really enjoyed this dish and happy I got it! It was a very tender medium rare steak with good flavoring! Mash potatoes underneath were good so was the crispy onions and horse radish sauce. Overall the experience was good but with the huge disappointment from the Wagu dish it kinda dragged the dinner down feeling like we got scammed. I did look around at other tables and other dishes looked really pretty plated and sounded very yummy. So if you're deciding to go here stay away from the Wagu and you'll have a good time.

We found parking on a side street near Blowing Rock Brewing, so decided to enjoy a drink and get some lunch. We were seated quickly, near a heater, which was nice to help us warm up after being on the mountain. A waiter came by with menus to take our order. We asked for some suggestions, but he was a little less than enthused to offer advise. They had a good variety of beers, so my wife and I each got one, and shared them. We got the Pina Colada Kolsch and the Cloud Rise Hazy Ipa. Both were tasty, the Pina Colada Kolsch had a much stronger pineapple flavor than I expected, but in a good way. For food we started with the white cheddar poblano, which I expected to be more of a liquid queso for some reason. It was instead for of a soft, spread, which was really good, and paired well with the chips. And then we split the Turkey Reuben, which I figured would be made with deli meat, instead, it was warm, cooked chunks of turkey, really great flavor, and hit the spot for us. The sides with the sandwiches were a bit lacking, only offering hot chips, and green beans....I've never gotten the whole hot chip craze, but green beans just seamed like too odd of a side option for a sandwich It was a good visit, and a good meal, to get us back on our feet. Overall, a nice space, with bar seating, a back room, a back and front patio, plenty of space to hang out, relax and enjoy their beer. Food and drink were both good and worth a visit if you're in the area.

We lucked out with a table on the cozy patio sitting on Main Street, where the town buzzes with life. The interior is beautiful and refined, but the outdoor setting, with the fresh mountain air and the hum of the town, created the perfect backdrop for a special evening. Service was impeccable. Gracious, attentive, and perfectly timed throughout the night. We began with a chilled French Chenin Blanc that paired beautifully with our appetizers. The escargot, bathed in a garlic cream and Gruyère sauce, was rich and mouth meltingly tasty. The braised and seared octopus was incredibly tender, deeply flavorful, and quite honestly, one of the best we've had anywhere. For mains, we shared the heirloom tomato burger, which was juicy, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. Alongside that, we split the mushroom burrata orecchiette, pillowy pasta coated in a creamy lemon pistachio pesto with locally sourced mushrooms. It was rich, bright, and beautifully composed. When dessert rolled around, we switched things up with cocktails. I had the old fashioned with a pistachio twist, complex and not overly sweet. My wife enjoyed a smooth and flavorful espresso martini. Both paired wonderfully with the finale: a creamy, light tiramisu and a house-made French éclair with fresh peaches. Each bite was the perfect ending to an already stunning meal. From start to finish, Café Violette delivered. The food, the service, the atmosphere, and the view all came together in the best possible way. This is French fine dining with soul, nestled in one of North Carolina's most charming towns.
