Last stop on a bachelorette trip before we hit the road back to Raleigh and I can confidently say this was a great choice to end on in Boone. This place has so much charm and feels like home. You can tell it's a spot locals come to often and there's a real sense of community, even though Boone is more of a touristy town. They have a little art vending machine and the checks come out in an actual book. Every dish the girls had was a 10/10 so don't worry about ordering the wrong thing. We parked in a paid lot about two blocks away which wasn't too bad. Definitely worth a visit!

This place looked very cool and that's what drew me to it plus it seemed really busy. We went on a Saturday afternoon and wanted to sit outside as it was nice and sunny. We had to wait about 20 mins but that was fine. We looked over the menu as we waited and so that way we were ready! Inside decor was really nice and it was nice and spacious. When we got our table outside, we ordered drinks, they took forever to come out, but we're really good. The espresso martini was perfect. As was my friends ginger greyhound cocktail. Great glasses and pretty drinks! Our server didn't come back for awhile so it took awhile for us to order , and again it took awhile for the food to come out. I tried the sweet potato biscuit with jelly and a side of fingerling potatoes. Honestly didn't get ant sweet potato taste, but was a good biscuit, more like a scone though as it wasn't crumbly. The jam was good and fresh, also the potatoes were nice and crunchy and sliced nice and thin. My friend had the side hustle, biscuits with Neeses sausage gravy. She thought it was ok, the gravy was a little thin. Overall not a great experience but the place was nice, I've had better biscuits though. Staff were friendly and nice. I had high hopes when I saw the place though. Maybe we ordered the wrong thing, I'd give it another try if someone wanted to go though.

My family and I went on Wednesday mid morning. Low traffic and easy going. We sat outside and were served quickly. We had excellent service and food. The vibes inside were incredible. Clean bathrooms as well

Lovely biscuit with a fantastic texture and pleasant environment. The bacon was also delicious. I did not like that I had to pay to park in Blowing Rock.

I've only ever stopped in Boone on Sundays, but this place has been quite crowded whenever I've tried to get in. When I finally found a lull, I still had to wait a while for service; they could stand to have more people working because the ones there were certainly busy. For a Southern biscuit place, they stood out to me because they had at least some options for special dietary needs, including GF and a mushroom-based gravy if you want that with your biscuit. I went for something sweet. Their caramelized sorghum banana biscuit delivered an excellent mix of flavors. It's the sort of thing I'd expect to taste in Charleston, but I was happy to have found it in Boone. The hazelnut-based sauce added a bitter hint. Ideally, I would like to see them offer some substantive vegan options in addition to the vegetarian ones; if they had tofu instead of eggs I would have ordered it, and I was definitely not the most hippie person in this college town. But for what they're doing now, it appears that the place is full because they're doing it pretty well.

Was so excited that they offer gluten-free biscuits here. We got some biscuits and gravy to go. Very sweet, Dani, took our order and got it together quickly. I had my biscuit with honey, and it was delicious. My husband had his gravy and was really happy, too. We would love to come back again and dine in. They have indoor and outdoorseatong and a wide selection of dishes on the menu. The employees were all really nice and welcoming. Good cute restaurant in the downtown area.

I'd give 6 stars if it was an option. Our breakfast was amazing, the room was comfortable despite the extreme cold, the decor and thoughtfulness of it is fantastic.

Friday morning breakfast! We sat outside with our little dog. The wait staff were helpful and mostly attentive. We ordered and everything came out pretty quickly, and was very tasty. The biscuits were the obvious stars! When I was ready for the check, it did seem like they forgot about me for about 20 minutes but that was the only low point. I would come back!

Looking from the outside, this restaurant doesn't seems much. But the moment that I walked into the restaurant, you just felt like you walk into something special. The decor is nice and clean. Everyone seems to be joining the food and environment. The staff here are excellent, considering this is the college area, they have some great staff working here. Our waiter Jaedon provided some great service, he is nice and kind willing to serve. They also have a lot of staff, I can see that they are working well as a team. The food are excellent, the biscuits is perfect. I also like their sausage, not too salty just right. I will come back here every time I am in Boone area.

This place just opened their storefront in Boone 3 weeks ago, but before this they had a food truck that went around town. They have SO MANY gluten free options here!! Both biscuits you see in my review are gluten free and were so yummy. We couldn't even finish them. The seasoning was perfect and the service was phenomenal. We got a tea pot to share and it was $5 for two cups of tea. It came with honey sticks as well. This location is right on King St. by Mast General and should be a must-try when you visit Boone!!

'The Gamekeeper', what name could be more intriguing for a unique dining experience? I was not disappointed in the food. All selections were ideally prepared, seasonally balanced, and well paired. What I was really pleased about was the service. The staff elevate the entire experience. To name one or two would leave out what was an incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and cohesive Team. I would certainly recommend The Gamekeeper to anyone looking for the complete dining experience.

Everyone in the party raved about the meal and service. Bravo to the chef, staff and management. Our first trip to the area proved challenging on a rainy night in the mountains. We opted for transport via uber and Lyft services. FYI it's almost impossible to confirm service in Blowing Rock. With no show transportation at 9:30 pm the staff jumped into action. Lucky for us the one driver that did show agreed make 2 trips.

Note, however, that if you're looking for private secluded spaces, this may not be the spot. We were able to be seated immediately upon arrival, and our server was promptly by the table to go over the menu with us. We each ordered a cocktail and the skillet chocolate chip cookie. The skillet chocolate chip cookie arrived a bit before both of our drinks, which was a bit odd considering we had waited probably 15 minutes without drinks. As far as the cocktails, we ordered the Cynar Old Fashioned and the Buffalo Heard. The old fashioned was good, though I didn't notice the flavor of the Cynar at all. It was very dry, which I like, but may not be for you if you like a sweeter old fashioned. The Buffalo Heard was light and refreshing, with a nice bit of the bourbon shining through. Overall, the cocktails were quite good. It's a unique spot, and has a lot of potential. It appears they are still ironing out a few kitchen/bar/service kinks, but I think these are all small things. Look forward to visiting again soon.

We lucked out with a table on the cozy patio sitting on Main Street, where the town buzzes with life. The interior is beautiful and refined, but the outdoor setting, with the fresh mountain air and the hum of the town, created the perfect backdrop for a special evening. Service was impeccable. Gracious, attentive, and perfectly timed throughout the night. We began with a chilled French Chenin Blanc that paired beautifully with our appetizers. The escargot, bathed in a garlic cream and Gruyère sauce, was rich and mouth meltingly tasty. The braised and seared octopus was incredibly tender, deeply flavorful, and quite honestly, one of the best we've had anywhere. For mains, we shared the heirloom tomato burger, which was juicy, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. Alongside that, we split the mushroom burrata orecchiette, pillowy pasta coated in a creamy lemon pistachio pesto with locally sourced mushrooms. It was rich, bright, and beautifully composed. When dessert rolled around, we switched things up with cocktails. I had the old fashioned with a pistachio twist, complex and not overly sweet. My wife enjoyed a smooth and flavorful espresso martini. Both paired wonderfully with the finale: a creamy, light tiramisu and a house-made French éclair with fresh peaches. Each bite was the perfect ending to an already stunning meal. From start to finish, Café Violette delivered. The food, the service, the atmosphere, and the view all came together in the best possible way. This is French fine dining with soul, nestled in one of North Carolina's most charming towns. An absolute must-visit in Blowing Rock.
